How similar does a character's backstory have to be to their canon one?

For the character I'm looking at, his backstory revolves around an Oddly Specific Prophecy that results in him being adopted by a wealthy couple and basically wanting for nothing his whole childhood. But since there's no prophecy here, would it be ok to have his Recolle counterpart still living with his birth parents, for instance? (Character is Ivan from Golden Sun, btw.)

Rosalind Lutece | Bioshock: Infinite

BLURB:

• Rosalind Lutece is a 33-year-old professor over at Recollé University. She's pretty new here, only having moved and settled in Recollé two years ago. Very new to teaching, as well: before that, she'd been a scientist.
• Came from Old Money, and people are welcome to recognize the name Lutece as someone synonymous with wealth and privilege.
• Her parents were generally disapproving of her choice in field, but ultimately relented when they saw how passionate she was on it. She attended Cambridge University at age sixteen, and graduated two years later. She spent her twenties working in and out of the laboratory, but found herself eager for something different when she turned thirty. She got her teaching degree and moved to Recollé two years ago.
• She teaches both graduate and undergraduate at the university, and specializes in physics, although she also teaches chemistry and biology.
• Very, very intelligent.
• Personality wise, she's much more social and easier to talk to. Having grown up in a time and place where being a woman in the STEM field was not the bizarre deviancy it once was, she's far more open to having connections and letting people close. She's very wry, very sharp, and certainly doesn't tolerate fools, but she's open to both having friends and helping students. Think Professor McGonagall, but with less cats and more red hair.
• She still works on projects, of course, and actually has an assistant: Kurama (roseblooms, and I've full permission from the player!), who grades papers, aids her in her studies, and generally makes sure she remembers the little things, like not working twenty hours in a row and taking a break to eat.

LOOKING FOR: Friends, first and foremost, right alongside students! Rosalind does best with people who are, in whatever fashion, very good at what they do. She's not really one to be much fussed by legality (or even morality, ha ha, although she's way better at it than in canon). So long as someone is clever, quick on the uptake, and gives her the respect she's owed, she's ready to at least give them a chance. I'd also adore any negative social connections, too: exes and rivals are both welcome!

AU OCCUPATION: Graduate student (physics), graduate assistant to one Rosalind Lutece (originallutece), and general lab tech/research assistant to the same!
BLURB:

❁ He's half-Japanese, half-English, but was raised in Japan.
❁ His father died when he was a kid, so he was brought up primarily by his mother, and consequently ended up really hella attached to her because of it.
❁ Excelled in school, particularly in the hard sciences, which ultimately led to him pursuing a major in physics when he went to uni.
❁ Absolutely went through a "huge nerd about Japanese folklore/youkai mythology" phase when he was a teenager that he never quite managed to shake off entirely, resulting in a school friend of his giving him the nickname "Kurama".
❁ Enjoys gardening, gymnastics, chess, and puzzle-related pursuits like codes, cyphers, and lockpicking.
❁ Almost didn't go to university because his mom's chronic health problems took a turn for the worse and he was going to stay at home to take care of her instead, but she put her foot down and insisted that he go.
❁ Almost didn't come to Recollé for grad school for the same reason, but ultimately did when a professor offered to hook him up with a research assistant opportunity that was too lucrative to refuse.
❁ Is generally a very nice guy! Polite, friendly, considerate, but always with what seems like a little bit of disconnect. He tends to be more on the loner side of things, though it's not because he's unfriendly to people at all — if anything, it seems more like he's aloof because he doesn't quite feel like he perfectly fits in anywhere.
❁ Likes to read, is convinced he can club dance but oh my god someone please stop him, and is a major DO NOT CHALLENGE AT VIDEO GAMES. He loves him some video games.
❁ Surprisingly skilled at both sleight of hand and, in a more questionable sense, pickpocketing! He's very benign about it, though, and learned it more for the intellectual challenge than to be an asshole about it at all.
❁ Did I mention he likes to garden because wow this asshole likes to garden. FLOWERS!!
❁ IS PROBABLY GONNA HAVE A REALLY HARD TIME IF AND WHEN HE STARTS REMEMBERING THAT HE'S REALLY A DEMON FOX LIKE HOW DO YOU EVEN COPE WITH THAT

LOOKING FOR:
I'm not really looking for family at all, but he could definitely use some friends! In groups he's absolutely the "smart guy support character" type and surprisingly does really well with loud jerk-with-a-heart-of-gold protagonist types, so if you've got that kind of a character who could use a more steadying presence in their life, hit me up! I'd definitely love to net him some friends who would be willing to not let him be so much of a loner all the time, because left to his own devices that's what he'll tend to prefer. I also think it'd be great if he could hook up with some gamer buddies of some variety, either to play video games with or something along those lines. And of course, anybody who might be at the university, whether it be in a class he's GAing for or one of his own graduate school classes, let's definitely figure something out!

(Also people who are not going to judge him when he apparently starts going through an otherkin phase, like no seriously guys he's pretty sure he was really a fox in another life, for real, he's not making this up...)

AU NAME: Matthew "Matty X" Block

AU OCCUPATION: Musician
BLURB:
• Grew up in a rural area on a farm owned by his decently-sized family. Was a music and pop culture nerd.
• Started a band in high school with a cousin or sibling and a couple of their friends, of which he was frontman, lead singer, and guitarist. (He wasn't actually very good at guitar.)
• First moved out to Recolle for college - studied theater.
• Stayed for a little while to pursue jobs in acting and modeling. Didn't get as far as he hoped.
• Headed back to his hometown, got the band back together, switched from its singer/guitarist to its singer/bassist (in contrast to the guitar, he is a fairly groovy bassist), and actually started making some ground with them as a serious project. New wave and glam rock influences - I'm thinking the Ark meets the Killers meets the more recent 1975. They're not chart-toppers or anything on that level, but they've got a cult following.
• To distance himself from his unremarkable background and a family he was drifting apart from, Matty started calling himself "Matty X" shortly into his musical career - and started pronouncing the "X" as a Roman Numeral "Ten" to make it seem like a little less of an obvious, cheap alias.
• When their paychecks started coming in, Matty moved the band onto its own record label, based in Recolle.
• Band has only had one or two consistent members other than Matty, those probably being the relative and/or one of the school friends; he can be a bit of a demanding creative control freak.
• He's still a huge pop culture junkie - esp. when it comes to music, since it is an area that pertains to him financially. Does some talent scouting
• Also a clotheshorse and a foodie.
• All over social media.

LOOKING FOR: Fans, anti-fans, bandmates or ex-bandmates, other musical/entertainment/business associates, creative types who he might not work with necessarily but who he might be aware of and have an opinion on, immediate or distant relatives, former classmates, anyone else who might've known him pre-career, anyone who might run hip 'n hot establishments in Recolle or who he otherwise might bump into while painting the town - anything goes!

i could offer jade as a potential fan, and probably super talkative at him on...twitter and social media - she actually has her own youtube channel with dave strider where they blow up things for views (i wish i could explain, they are unexplainable) so maybe he could have an Opinion on that? idk. she plays ukulele though and grew up in a musically inclined family so if you'd like to work out a way for him to be aware she's a musician too i can work with that! THE 1975 JUST PINGED ME HAHA since they're one of the bands jade listens to in game.

BLURB: The key points of Hiro Hamada's AU are as follows:
-Hiro Hamada was born as the second of two sons to an average couple in San Francisco.
-Hiro was often left in the care of his older brother and to his own devices.
-From the time he was about three years old, Hiro found himself entertained by complex math projects, science experiments, and tinkering. By the time he was four the neighboring school systems tested his intellect and he was enrolled in kindergarten that fall.
-Flying through the school system, Hiro found the work to become less and less challenging and administrators continued to allow him to skip grades one after the other. Excelling particularly in science and math, he found himself enrolled as a senior in high school at age 13.
-Graduating at 13, just shy of 14, Hiro decided his ambitions were to go to college and attend Recollé University to become part of their engineering and robotics program on scholarships and his older brother came with him. The two currently share an apartment in the city.
-Upon finding and devouring everything the Mythbusters have ever done and other technology/robotics channels, Hiro decided he could do better and set up a channel of his own where he would test theories, explain mechanics and build things on screen.
-Under the channel gizmatics and the alter ego Gadge (pronounced as "gauge" but short for "Gadget") Hiro's worked his way into building a following.
-Lucrative though the channel is, Hiro is still a teenager with more than enough time and energy on his hands.
-In the last few months, he's applied for a real job and now works part-time at a comic book store in Tisse.
-Nerdy though it may be, Hiro knows his superheroes back and forth, as this was something he and his brother bonded over and have shared a common interest in since Hiro was a baby.
-His older brother continues to be his hero and the reason Hiro remains as happy and adjusted as he is. The brothers get along fairly well and Hiro always draws inspiration from him whether his brother realizes it or not.
-His current goal right now is to complete his Bachelors, start on his Masters, consider a Doctorate and bully the RU Administration into letting him guest lecture.
-Most important of all, Hiro has a pet in the form of a white cockatoo that he's named Max, occasionally affectionately referred to as "Bird-max." This bird has been a part of his life since he was 10 as a gift from his brother to help ebb out the loneliness that came from not having a lot of friends at a young age.
LOOKING FOR: Friends his own age, fellow college students, people to argue comics with him, like-minded tech people, people who he would have probably met over the internet, stuff like that!

- he likes it so much that he keeps his random hair doodads even when walking the street, so he's pretty Iconic just from having this shit in his hair (yes. those are bells and a feather. peacock, he's an actual peacock and yes you can hear him coming)
- he moved to Recollé with his twin sister about three years ago from Japan
- on the outside he's charming and fun-loving to the point of being Devil May Care though it's more like Live Fast Die Young Bad Girls Boys Do It Well
- so that means he gets up to shit like drinking, smoking, gambling, drag racing, what have you and loves escalating parties to the point of earning the moniker Party Satan
- and it seems like he's causing chaos a lot just for the sake of causing chaos and being a pain in the ass
- he has a penchant for graffiti and tags buildings for fun because he just thought that an inside joke he had with a friend was funny so he put it on a wall or it's Japanese motifs and kanji and honestly artistic and thoughtful but it's hard to tell they're the same artist
-he can probably be serious enough to talk about his responsibilities which mostly include taking care of his beloved twin sister
- those moments are Rare bc Baren doesn't like it when people realize he's An Actual Person with Feelings
- he's technically enrolled in the college as a third year (just in case he catches Surprise Ugly one day and modeling doesn't work) but hates showing up for classes. a lot. he's the guy who shows up on syllabus day and then ditches except to show up for exams
- if you manage to worm your way into being someone that he likes, he's actually very good at taking care of people and loyal when he doesn't want to be. secret tsundere.
- oh but he's nicer to women bc his sister puts the Fear of God into him

- now for an au background no one cares about. here's his seedy and sketchy past before he moved, which he keeps super under wraps and on a Need to Know basis (and no one he's met in Recollé needs to know)
- he and his sister were born to a mistress for a politician (of the Kumou family) who abandoned them and their mother
- their mother trained the twins to fake being High Class, paying tuition for private schools and tutors and buying nice clothes instead of good food
- Baren and his sister learned how to be great pickpockets and con artists to get money instead
- eventually they re-entered High Society through their own merit and scammed their own dad into blackmail bc the twins are fucking devil children
- blackmail does not buy a mother's love and health though and she passed away three years ago
- thus resulting in the twins' move to Recollé where they decided to scrap everything they knew and just live how they wanted
- but sometimes you can catch Baren having an informed opinion on something (arts, literature, history, politics) bc he never figured out how to stop being In the Know
- he'd just much prefer that people think he's a good for nothing hooligan (he's unfortunately much smarter than he pretends smh)

LOOKING FOR:
- is your character a straight-laced fuddy duddy? baren's here to be your Manic Pixie Nightmare
- is your character a criminal? they've probably run into Baren. an "honor among thieves" situation would be really interesting!
- does your character need a job? Baren would probably hire a babysitter for himself (read: someone assigned to pay bail if he gets arrested and keep it from his sister)
- is your character a fashionista or designer? he'll model your designs and talk about #aesthetic hell ye
- part of the law enforcement? tbh Baren's probably a regular trouble maker who either can't get pinned for anything he does due to lack of evidence or settles out of court. alternatively, Baren's probably gotten to know a couple of different miscreants so you could always try to make him an informant
- open to flings, hookups, friends with benefits, exes? canon tells us that Baren is popular for some reason - but lmfao if anyone wants to hash out a messy ex story with me, I need it
- is your character a fellow college student? please endure late night cram sessions with Baren
- is your character another model? actor? random celeb? be Baren's superficial friends who he hangs out with but they don't know anything about him
- is your character the type to follow fashion and be a fan? he'd actually be weirded out. please. this sounds funny.
- is your character a social outcast or problem child with attitude? come to Baren. they're actually his favorite types of people. he'll teach you how to pickpocket (why)
- does your character work at the animal shelter? animals love him so he probably brings strays regularly
- is your character another socialite from Japan? really specific but Baren's high class lifestyle extends to Japan only tbh, but someone might be able to recognize him from that - and he'll then swear them to secrecy bc he doesn't want to talk about his past ever ever ever
- is your character a Recollé socialite? sometimes to entertain himself, within the past 3 years Baren will have gone to fancy parties in full disguise to wine and dine and gather information and learn names and influential people before disappearing
- or please help the party satan agenda and make baren an urban legend

BLURB:
♰ A sixteen-year-old high school student who's been disillusioned with her average, mundane life and average, mundane family for as long as she can remember. Whereas in canon she attempts to cope with this by claiming to be a fallen angel, Yoshiko here has taken a decidedly different approach: delinquency.
♰ While she's not an outright bully in that she doesn't pick fights, she's definitely the banchou type, and has made a bit of a name for herself in school. If you've ever seen this stupid-looking signature spray painted on the side of a building or a street sign, it's her doing, but she's recently taken on bigger artistic endeavors in the streets, much to the chagrin of the building owners...
♰ While most of her delinquent acts are vandalism charges, things she wants passerby to take notice of, she does get into the occasional scrap with other punks; she's a decent fighter, too, and often plays dirty. She sometimes incorporates dumb "Secret Techniques" like the "Fallen Dragon Phoenix Hold" into her kerfuffles, with mixed results.
♰ Haven't decided yet whether she's actually the leader of a gang or if she just likes to go around pretending she's one? Regardless, despite her Reputation inevitably keeping people at a distance, she has a soft spot for friends, and people who are closer to her know that she has a more sensitive side despite her rough demeanor.
♰ Forces herself to talk in this deep voice (her "Yohane" voice, for the canon-familiar) in public, to make herself sound tougher, but her actual voice is significantly squeakier! It's very embarrassing and comes out sometimes when she's surprised or caught off-guard.
♰ She was born in Recollé and has lived there all her life; her father is an accountant, and her mother is a housewife. She has two siblings, one older, one younger. Yoshiko finds the lot of them boring and embarrassing, and dislikes being at home; it's a typical house, with a typical family, and she can't stand a second of it.
♰ She's more street-smart than she is book-smart, but she's still a decent student; she's constantly in detention for her conduct, so her work gets done, but consequentially, her after-school time is never open for any club activities.
♰ She enjoys watching championship wrestling, and loves following the storylines. One of her favorite wrestlers inspired an interest in the occult, and it's something she does research on from time to time. When she thinks no one is watching, she writes dark lyrical poetry, and when she knows no one is watching, she sings it. She also has a budding passion for street art; it's not great, but her work is improving (and getting harder to remove, to the dismay of the police).
♰ Doesn't go anywhere without her favorite leather jacket.

LOOKING FOR: I'm literally open to anything! Friends or classmates or rivals or unfortunate victims of her delinquency, people looking to indulge her dumb hobbies, give me whoever! I haven't decided if I want to actually make her a gang leader, it's kind of funnier if she isn't but everyone assumes she is? But if you want to be part of a gang with her I can totally roll with that too! I'm open to suggestions and new ideas!

jade's seventeen but they could maybe know each other from high school? jade also grew up in recolle and her dad used to be a delinquent, sorta, on his own before he got with her mom, so she's familiar with that way of life. he's a detective now, but she definitely believes people can find thrills elsewhere, so she'd...probably be That Kid, but she's also the type to try and understand where someone is coming from, so there are a couple of avenues! her mother is also an artist so i do think jade would have a fondness for any kind of art, even if it's vandalism... YOU CAN PRACTICE YOSHIKO KEEP GOING, JADE BELIEVES IN YOU!!

AU OCCUPATION: United States Marine Corps / handyman when he's not on active duty
BLURB:

• Born as the eldest son in the Raban family - a family with a lot of military backgrounds
  
• Has a younger sister, Penelope Raban (mincingminuet), and a daughter, Xion (ceded)
  
• Xion was born when Frank was 16 and two years later, when he was 18, he left to join the Marines to bring home $$$ to support her (she was left with her great-grandparents in another city to be watched while he was gone)
  
• Was on active service for four years before returning back home (at the age of 22) to spend the next four years on reserves, spending time with Xion
  
• Leaves again for another four years (at the age of 26) and returns when he's 30
  
• Recently moved to Recolle with Xion, buying a house in a nice neighbourhood and possibly having a dog and it's all good
  
• Is 32 now and enjoying his free time
  
• Gets kind of bored of doing nothing though so he occasionally is a handyman. It's nothing big or professional. He ain't got a card and he just does it through the word of mouth, but need you need stuff painted? Things installed? Stuff tiled? Typical call-the-handyman things? Then he's your man.
  
• His sister and daughter are big Youtube stars so he quite possibly gets dragged into the YouTube scene. Has a few songs on YouTube dedicated to him from Xion for being an "awesome dad" and they probably have his ugly mug is probably in a few of them. He'd probably be convinced to do an odd video here and there with them
  
• Is that kind of dad to sometimes pick up his kid from school, even if said kid is 16 and can walk home by herself but look, he's a good single dad who wants to spend time with his kid and get involved in her life
  
• Also seen walking the dog around the neighbourhood or around a lot. Gotta do something with all of his free time...
  
• Speaking of dogs, look, if you need a guy to dog sit or give you tips on training them then he's ur guy.
  
• Apparently sings to Earth, Wind & Fire songs and does killer impressions so if you hate that one teacher of yours and needs him to do a funny impression then he can do it
  
• Really, someone needs to convince him to sing on camera and put it on YouTube
  
• Is honestly a generally decent dude who just wants to be a good dad. He's content and is just living out his life. Of course, then he gets back his memories and is like but look, he's not the Punisher right now so be his friend before things get Bad.

AU HISTORY
An orphan who was first found at Viea Village's fire station as a baby, Roderic spent time in the Orphanage before being placed into a foster family at the age of five. The family - wealthy, successful, strong ties to influential people - seemed too good to be true and that was the case. They only wanted the very best and it didn't matter what it took to get there since they were obsessed with getting the best and brightest under them. So they forced him to study and practice under harsh conditions and he faced harsher punishments for over three years.

It eventually culminated in him passing out in the middle of a school day due to being faint from hunger and telling the teachers/doctors/police/people about what was going on. Thankfully, his social worker pulled him out of there though he has no clue what happened to the foster family after that. It'll almost be two years since he was pulled out from there, having been happily adopted by the neato Valdez family (commandertoolbelt) who had helped him a lot, and is about to turn ten this year. He is very excited about the new opportunities ahead of him because nothing can go horribly wrong now!!

AU PERSONALITY
First impressions of Roderic aren't that great: He's rather shy and nervous around strangers, a mixture of his normal demeanour and from what he experienced with the foster family in the past. Loud noises, from bangs to yelling, can easily make him break into tears and he seizes up when something stressful happens. But if you're willing to dig a bit and get to know him, Roderic is more than a fretful kiddo who'll hide behind a wall and peek around a corner.

His curiosity and his love for learning thankfully is still alive and well, allowing him to retain a love for knowledge and a desire to know the world around him. Having gotten out of his previous situation early enough, he isn't as awkward or nervous around people as he was in canon. (Or as bitter but hey regains!) It pushes him to speak with people, learn from them, and allows his happy, cheerful self to shine through once again. He's loyal to a fault for those he loves, willing to defend them to keep them safe and sound, and he loathes bullies after coming to terms with what happened to him with the family. Roderic is still growing up but he's learned a lot in his short life and who knows what else he'll learn soon enough.

LOOKING FOR:

Friends! His age, older than him, and far much older than him - Roderic just wants to make buddies with people. He'll hug his friends, ask how they are, and even get them presents as signs of friendships! (Just… please… don't mind the possibility of his gifts exploding or catching on fire…)

• Mista is an 18 year old Italian-American kid. In this case, Italian-American means a much stronger loyalty to Italy than the U.S., since he grew up in Naples until he was 15.
  
• He moved to Recolle when he was 15, not entirely willingly, to escape manslaughter charges. He beat a man to death after witnessing him attacking a girl in a car, but because the man was a fairly prominent public official with nebulous mafia ties, his mother insisted that he go live with family overseas.
  
• Mista has a very love-hate relationship with the city. He loves some of the people, hates the place for not being home, and has a certain low-lying distrust of the Establishment, although not enough of it to motivate him to actually do anything about it.
  
• He is very Catholic. That is: he goes to church a lot and is a very spiritually aware person. On the other hand, he tends to pick and choose which parts of church doctrine he actually attends to, so maybe it's more correct to say he's the best Catholic he personally can be and sometimes feels bad about not being a better one.
  
• While his mother had high hopes for him finishing high school and heading to university in Recolle, it never panned out. He finished school with middling grades and immediately started a string of odd jobs, none lasting long; he tended to make an okay impression on managers and a great impression on coworkers, though, because he was always fun to work with. • When he's not at whatever job he's picked up this month, Mista is (tentatively) set to work at Majima's host club. He's actually really good at this. Because:
  
• While Mista is definitely the kind of guy to flirt wildly with anyone appropriate, he's actually a pretty decent dude with high standards for how he treats potential partners/women in general. He's admittedly very clumsy when he actually catches feelings and generally a flighty and unfocused person, but whatever exes he has probably ended the relationship amicably because he's a loser rather than an asshole.
  
• Mista has extremely strong feelings about film and television, especially romantic comedies and spaghetti westerns. LOOKING FOR:

I'm honestly open to any ideas at all, but the most exciting to me at the moment is the prospect of having people work for him. He can employ people to help manage, work the bar, be a bouncer, or be a host/hostess. It's the year of our lord 2017 anyone can be a host. There are some really fun mechanics I want to build into the club - canonically he buys his employees things and does cute training substory conversations and stuff to help them be better at their job! He can also partner with businesses in town or rival other clubs, which are also canonical functions I swear this game series is really about the yakuza.

I'd also love to build some standing cr of random encounter kinds of things - people he's helped out in your classic video game substory fashion where they'd know his name and remember his face and be like oh hey you're that guy!!

Finally, people who he's gotten in fights with via cage fighting OR other people from his delinquent youth, either at the orphanage or on the streets would be pretty sweet. He's obviously cleaned up his act and works to have a really clean image with the club but his bro is in jail for a reason and he was definitely living that life.

-He has recently moved back to his hometown to begin filming a television series in which he plays a teenage FBI agent.
-Technically lives in a very swanky mansion though he is much happier to mooch and crash on friend's couches.
-His life has been kind of a whirlwind of events from one crazy thing to another and he's actually pretty relieved to be staying in his hometown for the foreseeable future.
-Is an orphan. Probably?
-Grew up with his well meaning, kind of a dirtbag but actually has a good heart Uncle.
-Has a reputation for being a ladies man but he's also 16 so like. Grain of salt.
-Also something something dead parents.
-As you can see this is still pretty rough and undeveloped and I am totally open to ideas!
LOOKING FOR: I would love some "old friends" built into his backstory! Mostly I would love some ideas on parent things. In canon Kon doesn't have parents (I mean okay, genetically he does) due to being a clone so I really want to incorporate a lack of parents into his story without making it a sob story which is where I'm struggling.

Fai still blames himself.

• His father was killed in a car accident, and his mother committed suicide shortly thereafter, leaving Fai to live with his abusive grandfather. After his grandfather's death, Fai was adopted by his uncle and moved to Recollé.

• He's an immensely talented musician and performer. He can play almost any instrument, although he prefers the violin. After high school he attended RU and earned a bachelors in Composition and Music Theory. He still doodles bits of music when he's bored and has a stash of songs he's written in a box under his bed.

• In college he ended up performing at a burlesque club and doing occasional drag shows. Being a natural performer he was very popular, and after he got his degree he just... kind of kept working at the club, instead of pursuing a songwriting career. Which was all well and good until one of his fans/regulars went a bit off-tilt and stabbed him outside the club. After that he quit the club and went through a couple bad years of prescription drugs and withdrawing from the world at large.

• He finally cleaned himself up and decided to go back to school, this time for a degree in social work so he could help people who had to go through shitty situations like his own childhood. He now holds a bachelors in Social Work and is pursuing a Masters so he can get his clinical license. He does a lot of field work, since he needs the experience and since he's the low man on the totem pole in the local office.

• Workaholic. Tries too hard to do too much and is probably going to burn himself out trying to help everyone ever. Still lives in vague terror of someone recognizing him from his years of working at the club.

• Loves sweets, music, alcohol, trashy romance novels and cats. And clothes. Good lord this man is a clothes horse.

LOOKING FOR: Professional acquaintances/friends, friends from the burlesque/drag scene? People to recognize him from the burlesque club. Ex-boyfriends? People from school. Neighbors (he's going to be in an apartment). IDK if you have an idea throw something at me??

• Comic books are, after all, a kind of book and she reads them voraciously. She's one of those people who can't even stop herself reading tabloid magazines in the grocery market waiting line. Words exist, she has to read them??
• The comicbook shop is owned by her mother, for the record! Levy is also mad knowledgeable about all kinds of trading card games and cheerfully and completely without embarrassment plays several. She's actually pretty good at trading card games?
• Levy is also really into Dungeons & Dragons (And the new world-change knockoff is neat?) and fantasy gaming of that variety. She is more than happy to insert herself into a gaming group for that? She wouldn't mind playing DM but also just playing, so.
• She likes video games as long as they have lots of plot/lore and/or are puzzlers, and is handy at solving puzzles or figuring out plot connections but less great at like, shooters. She'll try if you invite her to some fighting tournament, but also, she will lose?
• She's studying linguistics at the university but takes a bunch of other random courses for "fun". Maybe could stand to like do that a little less, though??

• Constantly spends 80% of her free funds not going towards,

-Born and raised in France in the countryside by his family. Has siblings that he gets along well with. Either the youngest or younger, but not the eldest of his siblings. He does his hardest so that they can be proud of him and because he's the type to try and do his best.
-Attending college courses, since he didn't get a full education due to his rather tight schedule and wants to keep furthering his education while still keeping up his practices. His favorite subjects is marine biology and any kind of history.

-Likes to sometimes skirt his duties to go to the animal shelter. He loves animals. Owns a beta fish in a nice tank and takes care of it well.

-He's very bad at being open to telling people when he's stressed or perhaps needs a hand. The type to bottle things up and hide them due to trying to keep his life as private to a certain degree because of basically being public figure.
LOOKING FOR: Colleagues and friends in particular! I imagine that Sidon had very little time for people due to his rigorous training and tight schedule. Also possibly being a little sheltered, just people to immerse himself around.

Also possibly fans or people he can mentor/enthusiastically encourage. He really adores people and very interested in them, so he's very friendly. Unfortunately, he also isn't the best at social cues and a bit socially stunted.

• Said weird serial killer case was one with some creepy similarities to the Ripper case and he later had a huge fight with the police over them arresting the wrong person. After he posted bail from his fight, he found a message and a piece of one the victims in his car and ended up having to spend time in a state of shock even after the police caught the person.
  
• He ended up in Recolle to get over the weirdness and instead reinvented himself into a haunted house/ghost/weird stuff writer that debunks or at least tries to write about the truth of everything ever.
  
• He takes a lot of crappy photos and writes long rants about the supernatural and when he isn't writing about that, he is talking about how no one can make a great cup of coffee and his life is hard.
  
• He has no family and had one time remembered dating srs for a while but they broke it off because of issues - said issues being that the boyfriend of the time ended up being a talented jewel thief, not that the thief part matters as much as the part that he stole his favorite shirt never gave it back.
  
• He is going to be a little less of a raging ego but he still keeps his lazy ways, though 'lazy' just means he can sleep in so he can go out and catch those pesky vampires at night.
