Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. ISN'T THE FORLORN HOPE A MIRROR, it should have shown kurama the error of his ways?! kanji is surprised it didn't shatter right there tbh. kanji will help you, you poor soul....

Honestly I would be thrilled to have him and Kanji end up with CR somehow, BE HIS SURROGATE KUWABARA, KANJI

(also they are both mama's boys? BONDING OPPORTUNITIES)

The only minor hangup I can see is that Kurama's AU age is 23 or so, so it's a question of getting them into the same place when Kanji's in high school and Kurama's at the uni, but I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE

HE IS LIKE A SURROGATE KUWABARA... (and kuwabara was my favorite ofc.) kurama is stuck with kanji now, sorry

really, if fashion designer kanji sees kurama dressed badly in any public place (restaurant, cafe, seeing kurama dance horribly somewhere, etc), he's definitely going to get some Looks. they could bond over talking about mother's day gifts... i can see kanji and kurama maybe having a good retrospec conversation and then realizing his HORRIBLE MISTAKE if they ever decide to meet up?? WE'LL FIND A WAY

OH NO I JUST HAD A THOUGHT

i'm fully cool with it if you'd prefer not to go this route but as a possibility: they could first meet if kanji sees him in passing and develops a kind of stupid puppy crush on him from afar like WHO IS THAT REDHEAD I GOTTA MEET THEM and maybe even thinks that kurama is a lot younger than he is? and then they actually get to talking and kurama's like haha no i'm 23 and it's Awkward except that then they end up kind of weird affectionate friends from it anyway

AHH THIS IS SO CUTE... i only think that if kurama would be badly dressed, the crush might not work out so well, only because kanji would be very fashion-centric...

but what i CAN see is kanji seeing kurama and being like, THIS PERSON IS SO BEAUTIFUL, THEY COULD BE THE PERFECT MODEL IF THEY WEREN'T WEARING THIS HORRID PINK PANTSUIT?! i would be very down with the idea of wanting kurama to model for him somehow... even if that doesn't end up working out, they could definitely become cute friends after that!!

PLEASE you're speaking STRAIGHT TO HIS DESIGNER HEART... can kurama also stand still for hours on end without moving? can he work a catwalk?? (i'm imagining this would be horrible re: kurama's horrible clubbing) he can't save you when he can barely save himself...

HE CAN ACTUALLY DO BOTH BELIEVE IT OR NOT

it's only when his jam comes on that he becomes a disaster

(a headcanon born of the fact that i think legends about kitsune liking to get drunk and dance are hilarious and translate so well into DO NOT LET THIS MAN NEAR A CLUB EVER IN ANY CAPACITY)

WHEJRKFL I LOVE THIS SO MUCH... please tell me what kurama's jam is, i have no idea what i'll do with that knowledge but i want to know

either way he's got a straight shot into kanji's heart

I'M JUST SAYING

that if you ever want to laugh really hard, try to imagine this disaster of a man with his turtleneck literally tucked in to his fucking chinos hearing his jam come on the radio and just. well.

WRHEDFH I AM SUFFERING SO MUCH RIGHT NOW, I'M JUST IN TEARS, THE IMAGE IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND TERRIFYING

if there is ever a chance that kurama makes this beautiful dream a reality, i just want to say in advance that i'm proud of him for ignoring the haters and just being himself in the face of adversity... truly an inspiration to anyone who's ever wanted to put on 1980's dad clothes and shred to rihanna on the dance floor
