Oh my god I love all of this. Please... Please embarrass him. Please defend him. Because he will do the same for her but with more punching and yelling (until she tells him off). I hope Cherche gets more AU children so she and Yata can tag team and punt whoever bullies said children into space.

When would you say her husband died? I'm thinking sometime during his middle or high school years, but I'm okay with earlier.

Yesss, this will be fun. I can't wait for the tdm. And yeah I'm definitely going to try to recruit some kids to join their crazy family.

As for how long since her husband died, I was thinking something like 3-5 years ago. So why not split the difference and go with 4? It was in the line of duty, right? Did you have anything more specific in mind for that? Was he shot apprehending a criminal? Or were there suspicious circumstances around it?

~~I'm also updating her au history now so I'll stick that here when I'm done so you can look it over.~~

Actually, here it is:

-Middle class background, a good girl who was always getting good grades and was polite to her elders.
-Married her sweetheart right out of high school, started a family right away.
-Perfectly happy being a home maker. Doted on her children.
-Husband was a police officer who died several years ago in the line of duty.
-This left her with the responsibility of providing for her family.
-She got a job teaching home ec at the high school, a subject she excels at.
-Cherche is one of the nicest and toughest teachers all at the same time. She expects a lot out of her students.
-She's also extremely active in the PTA and various local projects. Is there such a thing as cub scouts here because she would totally be a den mother?
-Speaking of which she tends to bring trays of cookies or brownies to the police station a few times a week. Something she's been doing for years.
-Meanwhile her oldest son became a police officer just like his father was and she could not be prouder of her baby. ~~He will always be her baby no matter how old he gets.~~
-But she still worries. You other officers are looking after him, right?
-Even when she's angry she's always polite. Actually that polite smile when she's angry tends to be a little intimidating.
-And she tends to ~~aggressively~~ mother people.
-Even people who aren't her kids.
-While she is an absolute expert with all kinds of domestic tasks, Cherche is bad with technology. Seriously she's one of those moms who asks her kids for help every time she uses facebook. Wait until she gets retrospec.
-She also has a really weird sense of aesthetics. She thinks bugs and lizards are just adorable and she even collects things with gargoyles on them. Because aren't their smushy little angry faces just so cute~?

Four years ago sounds good! And I was thinking that there were ~mysterious circumstances~ surrounding his death but they never found the murderer to keep things vague. I'm thinking he was killed probably because her husband was just an honest-to-good cop who knew too much, but eh, we can keep the reason behind his death vague in case anyone else joins in.

But oh my god can Cherche be any more of a mom? I love it. AND HAHA Yata's aesthetic sense is something he definitely got from Cherche. BUT IT'S NOT CUTE, MA!!

Works for me! Making it a mystery makes it more interesting anyway.

And yeah, she is really the momest of moms.

And don't be silly Misaki, of course it's cute~

She probably used to knit him sweaters with 'cute' things like spiders or lizards on them. Actually she might still do that. ~~So adorable~~

also I want to run something by you for a sec! How long do you think her husband would have been in the force? I assume since he's been one since they married, but thoughts? Just wondering because he might have known Naoto's dad, who is a detective.

Yes. He probably never wanted to be anything but a cop, joined the force young and stayed in it until he died.

Also! I've found a another kid to join their family! Provided you're okay with it.
