BLURB:

✧ grew up in an orphanage in Recollé and was kind of a punk
✧ doesn't speak japanese and thus can't be a huge embarassment with honorifics
✧ has a bro who is in jail and is working really hard to get a good lawyer to help him out
✧ runs Club Sunshine which is essentially a host club. he employs basically anyone and is really well liked by his employees despite his kind of rough exterior. he's got a pretty good reputation for building the business into something successful and for his a+++ customer service skills.
✧ hasn't lost his eye because come on guys what an incredibly traumatic regain for the future
✧ enjoys karaoke, is a really good dancer, and does about a million different kinds of minigames. his hobbies are varied and diverse and he probably plays mahjong with your auntie
✧ recently met this loser named kazuma kiryu that's probably meaningless
✧ ends up helping people out A LOT even though he ""doesn't care"" but runs their errands for them anyway, I guess
✧ cage fights for money on occasion!! he's a pretty strong fighter
✧ not actually a yakuza
✧ he LOVES baseball
✧ tamago is his favorite sushi dont judge

LOOKING FOR:

I'm honestly open to any ideas at all, but the most exciting to me at the moment is the prospect of having people work for him. He can employ people to help manage, work the bar, be a bouncer, or be a host/hostess. It's the year of our lord 2017 anyone can be a host. There are some really fun mechanics I want to build into the club - canonically he buys his employees things and does cute training substory conversations and stuff to help them be better at their job! He can also partner with businesses in town or rival other clubs, which are also canonical functions I swear this game series is really about the yakuza.

I'd also love to build some standing cr of random encounter kinds of things - people he's helped out in your classic video game substory fashion where they'd know his name and remember his face and be like oh hey you're that guy!!

Finally, people who he's gotten in fights with via cage fighting OR other people from his delinquent youth, either at the orphanage or on the streets would be pretty sweet. He's obviously cleaned up his act and works to have a really clean image with the club but his bro is in jail for a reason and he was definitely living that life.

and then they ended up becoming friends but it's still a running joke between them and they hang out sometimes because guess what they're the same age

SO this guy is another former little punk who managed to kind of rein himself in and runs a business now (which will eventually be a front, probably), they could potentially know or recognize each other that way? Chuuya was mostly the type who just got into too many fights tbh (occasionally with the wrong people) and got talked into the occasional petty crime... alternately he absolutely hangs out doing karaoke and maybe they have chilled there.

Oh man, he runs the Inkwell, right? (It's been a long month of waiting and gently stalking the comms) because they should definitely like partner business wise or something or at the very least majima has been to his bar.

I like they idea that they knew each other from those days!! Majima loves to fight so they could've totally gotten into some fights back in the day -- maybe he knows that even going to his bar and that's why he goes? as a like man back in the day we were little shits but now ill support your endeavor to do things the right way

of course that doesn't bar them from awkwardly also running into each other w/karaoke :')

I'm thinking 18 for hosts, 21 to be a bartender (because...legality i guess), but 16 for your like "odd jobs" jobs - so helping clean up, running errands, etc.

How would you like an ex-employee from late last year?! Yato would probably have jockeyed to be a host but if he had to scrub toilets or something he would've done that too cuz

he needs the $$$

He's working elsewhere now though so he would've had to leave for some reason or another... what would it take to get fired from the club because I love figuring out stupid and spectacular reasons for Yato getting fired

He could've totally been a host!!

Majima is like...a surprisingly good manager and tends to work out the problems he has with his employees but if Yato had a like...consistently shitty attitude about being there or something he would fire him.

But it could also be a situation that like when his new job rolled around and he talked about it but wasn't sure about quitting majima could ""fire"" him to kick his ass into getting another job that suits him better.

poking around your journal it looks like he's at the inkwell (?) - and I think Chuuya and Majima are setting up to have a fairly healthy business relationship so maybe the three of us could also work something out where eventually majima is like hey take this guy it might work out better over there

Majima does a really good job as a manager and does everything pretty legal - the biggest issue is probably going to be like "stop giving away so much free shit" but on the other hand his business is v successful so i mean if it works am i right

May and him are the same age and both orphans (and both Japanese, despite her not having a Japanese name) but she kind of just never grew out of being a punk. she also probably was in the underground fight scene but just stopped showing up after awhile.

Also I love Majima anyways, Yakuza is the most delightfully ridiculous thing in the world and that includes him.

Excellent!! I was thinking about hitting you up to for that reason so I'm glad you were also on this train of thought - I think Eijun and Majima are going to have just met so we could have Eijun bridge the gap between these two once we get in game, maybe?

I'm down with having her recognize him as "hey that one cage fighter," though I'm undecided whether it's as a spectator, or very briefly as a fighter before she set her heart on going into emergency services. She still adores fighting, but just... channels it into sparring at the gym in a legit way.

They're also two years apart, so they could've had encounters in school years.

That'd be dope. She's way more legit than him -- but if you decide you want him to know about her as that one badass lady fighter lmk and I'll definitely have him admire her a little bit. It could be fun if they like knew each other but never fought and hes lowkey like damn i wish i had fought her every time he sees her

the school thing also works!! she could've known his older "brother", who is about her age. majima hung around him like crazy before he went to jail
