HOT SHOT AUTHOR, HEY YOU BUY MY BOOK, YES YOU!

Tony would be 46 and a professional author. He'd have a professional career writing the kind of novels you find in grocery stores. A little racy, adventuresome, prose that is so casually written it's readable by all but lacks creativity to the point it makes the eyes of the well-read roll, predictable as all get out, you pick up a Stark book you know what you're going to get, etc. He'll have been on the Recollé Times's best seller list many times, tv interviews, book signings, asked to speak at college graduations, the whole deal. He's a big guy in the world of writing, publishers love him! Just, you know, maybe his writing is kind of hacky and penny dreadful and makes more serious writers give him the finger for being so successful. Who cares! He's got fame, money and hot gold diggers lady friends! So will naturally be as insufferable and just as snarky as his canon self before the whole built a massive robot armor in a cave with a box of scraps thing. The twist is when Tony starts getting memory regains he won't be afraid or annoyed or other negative emotions. He'll embrace them. This will make great material for his novels! If the storyline bears any resemblance to the comics of Steel Lad, well fuck that guy Iron Man is infinity times cooler. Things this will lead to: Tony posting excerpts of his trashy novels on the net, Tony vetting his memories to the net for writing purposes ("so in my quote flashback unquote Iron Man gets his ass —quite literally— handed to him by this Captain America guy. But I mean... He's Iron Man! The protagonist! He can't just lose to Joe Schmoe from Baker's Never Got The Memo Patriotic Is Out Lane. And I mean Captain America? Really? How lame can a rival get?"), Tony advertising his books obnoxiously on the net and giving away free merch, Tony inviting people to his book sale galas, etc. Basically Tony being a loud, obnoxious butt and sharing all about his canon life is the plan (well except for maybe the bad parts he will be suspiciously quiet about things like Yensen, almost you know dying in space, probs just best to never mention Ultron, etc).

LOOKING FOR:

Adult friends! I would love, love, love people who knew him before his rise to fame and can reign him in/shit on his parade. Call him Anthony and see the pout followed by, "we agreed we don't use that name anymore, this is no longer 1988, get with the times grandpa/ma the world's a-moving". In return he can offer alcoholism and being there for them (sort of, halfassed attempts made, look he remembered to come to your birthday party after it was over what more can you want). Adult friends take 2! People who met him after he became a best selling author. Probably fellow business people or people he met at events. Maybe you were a cop working security, a reporter posted on a boring story, hell you could have been the busboy for the catering company. Years later you still talk and give eachother a nod and a smirky hello when you run into one another at events. Idk literary rivals?? That one 7-11 clerk who always razzes him over his purchases? Cop who often catches him speeding and he's convinced has it out for him? Kid specific: maybe he funds some kind of scholarship and you're in the program so he uses you for good press WHY NOT let's have horrible used by a narcissist CR Got something else sling it at me and maybe we can make it work!

Man, I feel like Rosalind and Tony would either be snarky friends or absolute enemies, but given he's an author, I'm gonna bet on the former. Rosalind tends to get along with people who are successful/competent, being a Successful Clever Scientist herself, and I'd absolutely be down with her knowing him through some Rich People Event.

Hah, this sounds great. She can be his go-to for snark friend at rich people see-and-be-seen parties making fun of all the other guests. Also maybe he calls her up at 2am with science questions for his novels? Feel free to hang up on him Rosalind he needs more rejection in his life

I'm not entirely sure what kind of CR I can offer you with Hiro though I do have a 23 year old bar owner that's from an upperclass family and may have met Tony once upon a time. MOSTLY I wanted to pop in here and just say that I love this AU and it's cracking me up, A+.

Aw ty! I am looking forward to it a lot, should be fun. Thinking though, once Tony starts getting memories back it's going to definitely involve robotics and higher math. Maybe he could find/be aware of Hiro's youtube channel and hit him up? And this is how a nerd and an hack author start building questionable robots and everything goes to hell... Be his banner Hiro okok.

He could also be a regular at Luke's bar though laughs. A guy has to drink somewhere.

also hello, I have this guy here who runs a literature themed bar SO if that's something he'd be interested in... chuuya would probably be one of the people eyerolling at his writing but hey, he's gotta respect success.

I kinda want to have Tsukasa meet another person who is also an ego-embracing writer, even if Tsukasa is going to be the worse thing ever on record - a tabloid writer of spoony stuff. Well. After he had a mental breakdown after being a crime reporter covering some of the worse serial killers ever back home.

They can even commemorate about their various Cool Guy Robots Stuff even though a Rider is so much different then Iron Man.

I feel like Tony should take jabs at Tsukasa all the time like he thinks Tsukasa is the joke writer and then it turns out no he actually knows all about who Tsukasa is and is half empathetic/half judging the shit out of him. Because who doesn't want an ass in their life that casually goes, "I used to read your articles. They influenced me. You know that book I won a Pullitzer for 'exemplifying loss in a suburban community'? All you, pal."

Regardless though yes they should talk about Robot Stuff laughs. Might be some dick measuring there about which is cooler, whoops.

James/Bucky/whatever we wanna call him is an angsty emo teen and also has to start thinking about college soon, so if you want to go the scholarship route, he may consider applying Tony's scholarship! He'd basically have no idea who Tony actually is though, other than "that guy whose books I keep seeing at the pharmacy and at airports."

He will also be able to sit there and (incorrectly) fact check every single thing Tony says HAHAHA because James knows all the same people he'll be remembering but under completely different circumstances. ~comics vs movies~ "What are you talking about, that wasn't civil war, civil war was when i punched you in your METAL DICK"

Also I feel like Tony remembering Civil War is just an horrible terrible road that should happen laughs.

I think them having memories of the same people (if different iterations) is a good start though! Could segue later into the scholarship thing to give them a reason to hang out. What's Bucky got back so far?

I'm logged in on the wrong account because switching between accounts while on phone is annoying but anyway! The character I already have in game, Takamura Koutarou, is canonically an author so I'd love any kind of cr even though he doesn't remember being famous for his poetry yet.

Yato is a bartender/bar lackey at Chuuya's Inkwell so maybe he and Tony know each other casually from there?! Yato probably tried one of Tony's novels and liked it, but every novel after that put him in a state of disillusionment when he realized how formulaic Tony's writing is... He'd say as much to Tony's face if asked, so if you want a guy who who complains about books to their author then boy Yato's the guy

From one author to another, Gentiana probably would've heard of Tony's works and read them. Perhaps the same could be said for him since Gentiana's breakthrough into literature all began with her first poetry book titled "Ama-gi" which means "Returning to Mother".

It's a short poetry series featuring poems about both her late foster mother who died when she was in high school and her birth mother who she never got the chance to know.

elizabeth isn't really in the high end social circle, but i think it would be cool to have them bump into one another at some events (mainly if he ever decides to do charity events 'cause elizabeth is a bleeding heart for that).

or consider: elizabeth and tony knew each other when they were younger. young-ish. liz was a sheltered church girl on a damn farm until 18 when she moved to recolle in the ultimate act of rebellion, so! liz is 33 in recolle, so if they met when she was younger and fresh-eyed to recolle... fingerguns, i'm down with that too.

God I have no idea how this would work but I want it. Jack's been in Recolle for about twenty years, so depending on where Tony was at the time, they could have known each other for a while? He's def the type to shit on parades and he's a sleazy boozehound too, but he'd be low-key jealous of all the attention Tony gets and want to ruin it a little.

You know how there's 'those people' who always show up at your book signings and all those social gatherings and are really big fans? Yep, this one probably qualifies. She has kind of a massive thing for Harlequins, so a Stark book would be like one of those novels that she reads that she can actually tell people about in polite context and not feel embarrassed.

Buuuuut, she's also hunting for scholarships to the local university since she's applying for next year. Maybe they meet through one of these?

Seto is an indie game developer who's out to crush ÉcarlateSoft with his own indie games and basically runs a startup to experiment with holographic and virtual reality software in his games. He's a fairly successful businessman in his own right, also snarky and insufferable so I feel like they're either going to clash magnificently or snark/snipe terribly at each other when they've passed each other at events and the type.

also he hates stark novels probably he finds them shallow. JUST SAYING. 10000% would read them to just diss them on social media uh.

I'm all *^* at Tony, he's my favourite Avenger/character in general and I really love the AU that you've gotten running for him!

So this may be way out there, I don't know, you tell me, but Katherine here's father happens to be a pretty damn good lawyer. Does Tony need a lawyer backing him up as he lives his wild life of fame and fortune? c: She's about 21 and is studying law herself, so the two of them could know each other through Tony coming over to the house to discuss business or her helping work on his cases and such...!

makoto's family owns a book shop that usually just sells japanese literature and supplies, and very few english books if the demand in the market is high for them.

not sure if you'd a) like for them to have a proper business relationship in regards to selling his novels, or b) have tony and makoto's dad have had a dumb fall out and makoto's dad be like "your novels are not good enough for my shop" aka a dumb adult fight
