AU WORKSHOP - OCTOBER Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. - An accident caused by him playing too rough has led one of his opponents to be permanently injured, and since then Roy was never the same.
- He developed a complex against his height and tried his best to not stand out. (Which is hard because he's so tall and buff, and the beard just makes him look more suspicious.)
- He graduated with a degree in education and became a preschool teacher.
- He looks scary with his messy blonde hair and beard, but he's a pretty nice guy.
- His thumbs are too big for his phone, and that's why most of his text messages will read clumsily.

🐰 eventually, his voice started changing and his contracts dropped him but his manager refused to let him go, saying instead he'd be a model and didn't allow him to speak. literally at all.

🐰 decided to go to recolle u to try and restart his life. it's a big school, and it's close enough to home he can take care of his family if they need him!

🐰 still attends therapy and speech therapy both; he speaks with a lisp and a slur if he gets too emotional, like his body's still getting used to being allowed to talk.

- Has an online persona under the name MAJIN ✮ MARI where she streams @twitch, archives them @youtube and a twitter associated with the identity. She has no real degree of success because everyone's typically driven away from her by her bad attitude online, with her only regulars to streams being Edgy Internet Kids. She's that One Toxic Player who you're glad to have carrying your team until she starts badmouthing you all for sucking.
- She's a lot more aggressive and caustic online mostly to vent stress from IRL. Yes she knows it's bad don't @ her
- Also I lied, her side hobby is military history. Doesn't really talk about it much, but doesn't necessarily hide it.

I was in game for a while up until recently so I have a more detailed info post here. Some details may change because I'm not quite sure of her living circumstances just yet, the apartment mentioned there burned down in like........July. I think.

LOOKING FOR:
- Her dad is basically a blank slate aside working a lot so they don't have much of a relationship. Owns a super successful game company if you're into that sort of thing.
- Dad Butler if you want a shitty faux daughter who would probably kill for you.
- The only other significant relationship was her ex, but she's dating someone else now so keep that in mind if you're maybe interested.
- MMmmmaybe her mom? I think she's too Bad™ to be played straight but I guess if you're interested in "sorry my marriage was failing and I took most of that out on you let's start over" reconciliation it'd be fine, but that'll...obviously take a lot of work. She hates her mom a lot.
- Aside from that generic rich classmates from japan/other upper class folks who might recognise her or have known her/people around the city who might know her. I'm honestly easy.

BLURB: High School delinquent who is raised by a single mother and whose father is some corporate bigwig who basically has been hands off about everything besides the bare legal necessities after messing up her mother's life. While Mattie was in elementary school, her mother had to put herself through college to get a secondary degree just to be able to find decent work to make up for what they didn't have and, without someone watching over her full time, Mattie's wild tendencies took a rougher turn in middle school when she started actually skipping school and getting involved in a bad crowd.

It was towards the end of middle school that her mother completed her college education and became a Paralegal, and it was a stroke of luck and connections through the local church that landed her a job with the District Attorney's office. Of course, by this point Mattie was too far gone and far too wild-- and everyone was left shaking their heads at how this was even going to work.

There may or may not be rumors of Mattie beating up a gang of noisy hoodlums in the dead of night because her mom couldn't sleep, and rumors of her stealing a police chocobo and returning it the next day with a lion costume on.

Since she reached the legal age to, Mattie has been taking on part time jobs to earn a few extra dollars for herself... but they never really last long. Personality conflicts and an unwillingness to follow direction tend to be the reasons jobs work out-- although there was also an incident where she threatened to beat someone up while wearing a lion mascot costume, too.
LOOKING FOR: FRIENDS, ENEMIES, AND FRENEMIES OF ALL SORTS. This girl does have a minor police record of petty theft and the like, and given her mother's career she really should have half the department shaking their heads as to why she is still even this way. Also, I'd like for her to have various people trying to influence her onto a better path and failing-- or having it work in the opposite manner and being pulled into trouble themselves. Also church friends, since the church is probably the one institution she does respect since they helped her family when she was a kid.

I still have to polish this a lot more, but generally the idea is to keep his canon personality fairly intact. The big difference will be that his worse aspects are toned down due to being raised in a modern world. This Jakotsu has never killed someone, for one. He's also not guilty of assault, though he certainly makes improper flirting comments at men a lot. He's still pretty spiteful of girls, but this is toned down as well. I can imagine him befriending select women, provided they can put up with his bitching about other girls....

majima does a lot of fighting!! he did a lot of crime before about three years ago, but even since then he's done some like cage match fighting and such and he's also really agile (plus part of his theming is snakes so this is #aesthetic) -- maybe they know each other through that!

he could also, potentially, work at majima's host club - he employes both guys and gals and caters to both guys and gals (so jakotsu could always have male clients if he were a host; or obvs as a waiter that wouldnt be a problem) but only if you think he'd be like...nice to customers. nice adjacent. not a jerk. majima also employees Zero/Rose who is pretty gruff so his standards are pretty low but he wouldn't employ anyone who like was actively rude or insulting or overly uncomfortable, if that makes sense.

either way tho -- definitely fights. please hit on majima during fighting ill get dope regains of nishitani and also, generally, the more majima gets canon memories the more he'll probably flirt back so yes.

AU OCCUPATION: Karate instructor (there's like three dojos, the possibilities are endless), semi-ex-delinquent/punk

★ Rec native, raised by parents who always had kind of a rocky relationship.
★ for the most part, had a fairly average childhood, although he was pretty proactive against bullies.
★ by proactive I mean he punched bullies rather routinely, even when they were bigger than him (not like that was for long tho).
★ wound up enrolling in karate to more or less help defend those that needed it? and also to work out some slight aggression probably.
★ around this time, he was best friends with Shu ( handcraftings ), and the two did sports together until Shu decided to go into dance instead.
★ somewhere in here a younger sibling (or two or three who knows) was likely born.
★ Kuro became utterly devoted to any and all siblings, like he was made for being a big brother.

★ and then shit went down.
★ mom got sick and it put some strain on the family, making things fairly tense for Kuro as his responsibilities increased.
★ because they always kind of had a rocky relationship, it won't come as much of a shock that Kuro's dad bailed on them when things really got rough.
★ to try and find the money and resources to help take care of the family, Kuro fell into a rough crowd in high school. started skipping classes, fell into delinquency, got into very much lot of trouble. honestly he hated himself during the entire stint, and kind of still hates himself for what he did.
★ and then mom died! whomp.
★ rather than let his family be split up, he uh. dropped out of high school and started working whatever jobs he could to actually support them.
★ this left Kuro effectively dropping off the face of the Earth, cutting contact with about 85% of the people he knew before all of this went pear-shaped.

★ after a while, he managed to kind of... get out of the shitpot by kicking it down. haven't fine-tuned how yet, but he did it. and now he's back on his feet and working for a dojo where he's actually happy while supporting the fam. he can reconnect with people! amazing!

★ he's just a big buff boy who loves his family and has a dog named Tora that he also loves even if it's TOO ENERGETIC just like his canon kohai whoop.

LOOKING FOR: YOUNGER SIBLINGS!! Can I make this any larger without being obnoxious. Above all else, I really really want younger siblings (blood or half) because he's a non-creepy sistercon in canon and the big brother to ... everybody. I'll also accept teens and kids that he's just wound up adopting.

Also also, delinquents/punks/etc that he might have run with, at some point, during his teenage years that he still has connections with. People who maybe went to school with him before he dropped out aka dropped off the face of the Earth. Also maybe people in modeling/dance/entertainment/etc because he hung out with Shu and probably knew some by proxy.

• to combat her shy personality and social anxiety, the label keeps her interviews and public appearances to a minimum, which kind of inadvertently creates this snobby persona but her company just tries to spin it off as a part of her ~mystery~ and ~unattainability~
• like britney spears' "lucky," olivia has been in the business for around four years, and the limelight has begin to grow dim for her; she's losing her passion for the stage because she isn't allowed to be herself, but she also has no real backbone, and so she just sort of goes along with the flow and does whatever her agency tells her to do
• she just moved to recolleé last year! while rosé is ~working on a new album~ though she will make occassional appearances as her here and there (doppleganger hijinks anyone?!)
• irl, olivia is shy but excitable, and doesn't really go out of her way to stand out
• she was also sort of robbed of a teenhood, and is taking this opportunity to try and live her life... experience the things she never got to before

His mom, though, wanted a less violent hobby for him so she suggested a local archery club in Recolle. He loved it and kept up at it everywhere he moved and started joining tournaments in middle school, winning one after another to this day. He's well-known in those circles, so if anyone is into archery might know his name.

-His first television role; he's done a lot of movies from ages 12 onwards though so his name is pretty recognizable! His acting name, anyway. He goes under an acting name and has ever since he was a little kid (It was probably his favorite pretendy OC because he's a nerd.) Name to be determined.
-When he was very young his parents adopted some foster kids into the family; unfortunately when his parents died in an accident, his aunt and uncle were only willing to take him in, so said siblings got shuffled back into the foster care system. He has no idea what happened to them but he still feels guilty as he'd regarded them as his actual siblings with all the protective instincts that comes with that.
-He proooobably maintains a lot of social media accounts with his acting persona. He doesn't officially model but he's known for his eccentric styles with a lot of hair dyes/bleaching and styling and fashions and such.
-He actually studies at Recollé University under his real name and goes incognito to do so. He's in finance because his aunt and uncle blew most of the money he made while he was in their care, so now he's determined to make All The Muns and keep them. To do so he usually goes around in very plain clothes and consistent dirty blonde hair. He's also a huge grumpy butt to try to interact with.
-He's also not originally from Recollé, he moved here for the TV gig within the past year or so, so there's a far less chance that people know him on a personal level from prior to that.

LOOKING FOR:

-Long lost siblings! He was 12 when his parents died so if anyone wants to have their orphan have been his sibling for a few years, they'd be 11 years older now.
-Fellow actors! It's the type of show where characters are added or written out as needed, so if people want their characters to be in on this gig just let me know! I figure it'd be pretty fast and loose with a lot of room for people to invent new developments on the spot if it comes up (yes, your character sure did just deal with a traumatic incident involving ten rubber chickens, a golden retriever, and an airhorn, why not). - Raised in London she spent most of her young life in private schools and when they move to Recolle, when she turns 10 years old, she was then home schooled with a private tutor. It took a lot of begging before she was finally allowed to attend public schools for her last two years of high school, but ended up graduating early.
- Closer to her siblings than her parents, she loves her parents but because of their positions and jobs she was close to raised by siblings instead. That with the fact her father's current wife isn't her mother. She does talk to her mother when she can on the phone though since she remained in England.
- In college she is in college to become a school teacher, though her family thinks she is going into Law.
- She is a sweet and kindhearted person, although she can be a little naive since she was sheltered growing up. But she can be a little spoiled at times.
- She has a pet cat that she adores and spoils badly!
- She loves being in public places since it's so vastly different from how she grew up. Normal people are wonder to her...rich people can be a little draining for her at times.
