AU WORKSHOP - OCTOBER Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World changes FAQ • As per our game-wide poll, we will be holding an application round in October and in November! After that, apps will resume their bi-monthly schedule. The game calendar has now been updated with the dates for this. • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC! FORM PLAYER'S NAME: CHARACTER'S NAME: CANON: AU NAME: If there's a name change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU AGE: Again, if there's an age change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU OCCUPATION: Feel free to list if your character is a student (elementary/middle/high school/college), if they own their own business, if they freelance, if they have a stable job, etc. BLURB: Here you should write what you have for your AU; you can list your character's hobbies, who their friends and family are, if they have any particular quirks or interesting pieces of their history, if they're from a wealthy family or if they're struggling to get by, anything you feel is relevant. CANON: My Hero Academia
AU NAME: Ochako Uraraka
AU AGE: 17
AU OCCUPATION: High school senior
BLURB:
- Ochako and her parents moved to Recolle from Japan when she was about four years old. She doesn't remember much of it, but she does speak Japanese at home (with a Kansai accent, no less.) They've had a lot of financial hardships and went through bankruptcy, and they wanted a fresh start somewhere else for Ochako's sake.
- She wants to help her family business when she's done with school! Her parents keep insisting she go to college for something she really wants, though she hasn't figured out what that is yet.
- She is a pretty average student. Doesn't stand out much, but doesn't get bad grades by any means. Might need help with subjects like English, though??
- currently considering the engineering program at the university for when she graduates! Mostly it's to help her parents out more, but if she had a choice she'd maybe do astronomy? She hasn't put much thought into that, but she sure does like looking at the night sky.
- One of her favorite hobbies is karate!! She's been taking classes at the dojo since was she was a young girl, and she's earned herself an orange belt so far!
- Don't talk to her about sentai shows. They are her favorite and actually the reason why she got into karate in the first place.
- God help this girl, she loves instagram for sharing food pictures and cute shots of her friends. EVERYONE MUST KNOW HOW GREAT HER FRIENDS ARE.
- May have a part time job? I'm thinking at the confectionary or something similar.
LOOKING FOR: EVERYTHING I GUESS?? Mostly friends and classmates, since she's pretty bubbly and will talk to just about anyone. Maybe an English tutor and coworkers?! And people who sort of clash with her personality type are also welcome!! She is certainly not for everyone but boy does she try.

Uhhhhhh, okay so friends? Ochako's been around Recolle a while so clearly she can show Mary around? If she's still wanting to be tutored, Mary and Mina are gonna do the canon tutoring thing?

ANYWAY YES HELLO I HAVE THIS considerably less cute sensei who now teaches math at the high school currently!! So obligatory offer for him to have been either her previous or current math teacher goes here...! While his teaching method isn't quite as insane as it is in canon
because this is an Actually Normal High School smhAizawa's still pretty strict and sure will drop pop quizzes at the most inconvenient times, but! He still means well...if Uraraka ever wants math help and is putting in the effort he's there to help?no subject
lies here...... she will probably come to him for help! sciences are her best subjects but math kind of... fell through the cracks but she also needs that you know? especially as an engineer so she doesn't want to risk failing. she'll approach it like she approaches karate except she can't kick the numbers' asses.

Wanna have her and Kirishima having clashed before? He's still considerably "darker" and more jaded and a bit less energetic than in canon right now, hailing from a family that's involved with the organized crime and wanting to become a criminal as well. He also thinks that heroes are a stupid and over-rated idea in general and does capoeira, maybe they met at a dojo or neighborhood tournament once and reverse-bonding over sentai shows happened?

she is 100% on the hero side here so... yeah i can definitely see them clashing, especially if it came up at the dojo in like a "why are you here, what's your motivation" sort of way! she's very passionate about the heroes of her sentai shows so she will defend them valiantly! and be very annoyed with someone putting them down LOL
also, tournaments?? yes but she is weirdly intense about it. god forbid they ever have to face each other in the ring...

They can also struggle with English together -- she's one of those people who's technically grammatically correct but can sound really stiff and awkward since it's more like Business English. She's not so hot on writing in English, either.

Sounds like they may have the opposite problems! I think Ochako will do fine speaking English since she basically grew up here, but she's terrible at writing proper grammar. Maybe they can help each other on that!
