Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here.

• As per our game-wide poll, we will be holding an application round in October and in November! After that, apps will resume their bi-monthly schedule. The game calendar has now been updated with the dates for this.
• Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM.
• For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC!

AU NAME: Matilda "Mattie" (Last Name Pending)
AU AGE: 17
AU OCCUPATION: High School Student / Part-Timer
BLURB: High School delinquent who is raised by a single mother and whose father is some corporate bigwig who basically has been hands off about everything besides the bare legal necessities after messing up her mother's life. While Mattie was in elementary school, her mother had to put herself through college to get a secondary degree just to be able to find decent work to make up for what they didn't have and, without someone watching over her full time, Mattie's wild tendencies took a rougher turn in middle school when she started actually skipping school and getting involved in a bad crowd.

It was towards the end of middle school that her mother completed her college education and became a Paralegal, and it was a stroke of luck and connections through the local church that landed her a job with the District Attorney's office. Of course, by this point Mattie was too far gone and far too wild-- and everyone was left shaking their heads at how this was even going to work.

There may or may not be rumors of Mattie beating up a gang of noisy hoodlums in the dead of night because her mom couldn't sleep, and rumors of her stealing a police chocobo and returning it the next day with a lion costume on.

Since she reached the legal age to, Mattie has been taking on part time jobs to earn a few extra dollars for herself... but they never really last long. Personality conflicts and an unwillingness to follow direction tend to be the reasons jobs work out-- although there was also an incident where she threatened to beat someone up while wearing a lion mascot costume, too.
LOOKING FOR: FRIENDS, ENEMIES, AND FRENEMIES OF ALL SORTS. This girl does have a minor police record of petty theft and the like, and given her mother's career she really should have half the department shaking their heads as to why she is still even this way. Also, I'd like for her to have various people trying to influence her onto a better path and failing-- or having it work in the opposite manner and being pulled into trouble themselves. Also church friends, since the church is probably the one institution she does respect since they helped her family when she was a kid.

Matt will try to point her in the right direction if he catches her being bad. He appreciates Mattie's mother's hard work and wants her and her family to be happy after all. I'm guessing Mattie will know who he is and that they might have met in the past.

Which church are you referring to by the way?

Catholic. I should have clarified, but the Grail myth is all tied up in the dominant religion of the era, which was Catholicism....

She's a terrible example of one. She skips all the time but she at least listens to the priests if they manage to corner her to talk.

Well they have that in common! And she might not be so unusual among Catholics when it comes to attendance rate. As my Catholic roomie once joked, despite the guilt many people only go to mass for holidays.

Majima could definitely try to be a good influence for her! He did a lot of petty theft as a youth - so maybe she tried to steal from him/club sunshine once and ever since he like CHECKS IN WITH HER hey did are you ok dont do crime stay in school

its destined to fail bc the more memories he gets back the more likely he is to Start A Gang but at least she can meet him while hes still like crimes bad kid before he goes full yakuza

That's okay, once her memories start coming back she's probably gonna be more FUCK YOU DAD at the dad who is non existant in her life-- which means that this entire thing is just doomed to failure from the get go.

On the plus side, does Majima like cats? She loves cats.

he does like cats! he's more of a dog person but his oath brother (who he is getting memories of) really loves cats so hes warming up to them by proxy

Kamui/Reid actually spent a year in juvenile detention for assault and still enjoys not only fighting but ridiculous theft and just generally giving the finger to everyone's rules. He's two years older than her, but he could have been an initially bad influence and later a partner in crime.

The assault was probably a source of division between them-- because vandalism and 'borrowing' chocobos is fine, but anything beyond a petty fistfight to clear a few matters up is a a few steps beyond even her standards.

That said, this could be really interesting to play out.

Haha, her being put off by him going too far could be pretty great depending on what kind of character arc you'd be aiming for. When he got back from juvie, he could have tried to get in touch with her like nothing happened and had it blow up in his face.

So Kiryu is definitely a Nice Adult but he's got a life of crime in his regains so I think it'd be totally hilarious for him to try and be a Good Influence but then wind up pulled into her schemes.

I'm not 100% sure how they would have met but part of me wants to say she is totally free to have mugged him (he was not a buff dude once upon a time) because honestly Kiryu would get mugged by a teenager, he'd just let her steal from him, probably.

Schemes like stealing a police chocobo, round 2? XD

Kiryu letting himself get mugged by an Actual Teenager is funny to me for some reason and I'm utterly canonblind. That's totally a thing that needs to have happened and then they kind of got stuck to eachother like a pair of fungi.

Turst me, that is absolutely the kind of hijinks Kiryu gets thrown into in canon. "Whoops I guess we're friends now" is basically two steps away from him trying to take her under his wing so WE GOT THIS.

And I mean stealing chocobos is a good cause if you ask me.

HOLY HECK i am so here for church friends. acquaintances, however that works. idk, i have john here go to a nondenominational church that's pretty open and friendly to people of all backgrounds? idk if she'd wanna go for something more formalized but -- regardless!! religion, let's lowkey bond over it

though i can't say he'd influence her to go on a better path or anything because he's actually kind of a shitty person

She's a terrible example of a Catholic, but that just means she's probably looked at other places for their evening programs or gone to services if people invited her for the heck of it, because it's a chance to ~~take a nap~~ cool her heels somewhere decent for once.

And lol about actual shitty people. I'm not sure where she's gonna go once the regains start coming in, but it'd be hilarious if she ended up being the good influence for once!

if you'd like some negative CR mordred could've gotten caught stealing from the arcade aki works at.

so every time she walks in she'll just be blatantly followed around very closely with no pretences
