AU OCCUPATION: Student / that kid who sits on street corners and tries to sell you stuff
BLURB:
* Aang was left on the doorstep of an orphanage attached to a Buddhist monastery as a newborn. No one knows who his parents are or where he comes from, and he's okay with that for the most part.
* He spent his formative years at the monastery until overcrowding forced the foster system to shuffle him around.
* He's been to various foster families and orphanages. Maybe he spent some time in a Catholic orphanage.
* Along the way, people have tried to 'westernize' his name by calling him Allen instead of Aang. (I'm considering having schools use the name 'Allen' on all his papers.) He only responds to Aang, though.
* He has been placed with a foster family in Recolle, and has lived there for the past couple years. The family isn't the worst, but it's also not the best. They make sure he's fed, clothed, and has someplace clean and dry to sleep, but they don't pay much attention to how he spends his time otherwise and don't get on his case if he skips class or gets in minor trouble.
* Aang knows that he's probably not going to get adopted at his age, so he has a dream of traveling the world when he's grown up and sells candy and trinkets he finds to save money for it.
* He is a sucker for stray animals and will sneak food out of his house to feed them all.
* He hasn't formally committed himself to being a Buddhist, but he identifies with the philosophy and he's very comfortable with monks.

LOOKING FOR:
* School friends or friends from the foster system would be great!
* Shady people who pay him to do small jobs that probably aren't entirely legal. Aang would never do anything he thought hurt people, though.
* Older people who can influence him to be better or worse either way.
* Anything you can think of. Seriously, I'm happy to add or subtract things to the AU to accommodate fun CR, or for something fun I never thought of.

OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: I've also been considering Sandy from Rise of the Guardians. I've considered making him a Deaf art teacher, or maybe he could be hearing and talk normally before gradually losing his inclination to speak as his memories returned.

liz probably will have a repairman in the form of frank castle BUT!!! i'd love if he could be her mechanic? or maybe her car breaks down and he helps her. typical "its raining cats and dogs and my phone is dead. please help this woman".

or maybe when she was younger (as in early 20s) she bought some stuff from the pawn shop because she was a Poor Mom with low income :c

SOCIAL WORKER... I think it'd be interesting if Reigen somehow ended up working with Fai to any degree, since he was in the process of adopting a kid! Especially since Reigen pulled the kid off the streets himself and was fighting to also be the one to adopt him and was fighting hard for it - Reigen probably had to be pretty thoroughly evaluated and regularly checked on.

If that's not the kind of social work that Fai does though, there's also the option of Fai somehow being involved with Reigen's business - Reigen used to be a normal nurse, just enough to be able to prescribe medicines, but recently (past 6ish years) has been a homeopathic doctor in the area. He potentially has some less severely addictive pain treatments he could have offered Fai? Most of what he sells is placebo before sending people for proper medical treatment, but he also just does massages, meditation and prescribes marijuana. Plenty of options if you want to tie them on that end.

Or, heck, both?? Or any other ideas!

Some would say Yato is already the Wrong Crowd but he could be a worse crowd SO YEA Yato will try to give her sage advice as much as he can!!! It'll probably be worthless half the time but look he'll try

i believe xion is going to pretty sociable in recolle! with her being a big youtuber and all that, so i could see frank being like 'let my kid help yours' if reigen is all [face in hands] about it! look, dads gotta stick together and he knows that raising kids is Hard Work

also, frank could a supportive neighbour and not give reigen any more beer after one but he will also probably think it's a blast and sometimes give reigen one or two more. throw salt in his face if you want him to stop or keep drinking, bud

Single mom! Reigen is really recently a single dad (adoptively) so he probably definitely sought out advice from any neighbors/other parents at the PTA meetings about being a single parent. Y/N to Reigen bugging Cherche when he doesn't know how to parent properly?

It's a small enough age difference that I'm sure they can still absolutely have gotten to know each other (to start anyway) from school. Maybe a shared club? Chiyo likes art, right? Do you think she might also like photography?

Please help this poor child get back onto the straight and narrow, he definitely needs some friends with more common sense than he has.

Although, I don't plan to handwave him meeting Yato. That's gonna happen live. For everyone to see and be subsequently embarrassed over. Good luck....

Naoto's father was a police detective who was murdered (along with her mom) so they'd have that in common? Though she is a few years younger than him.

I'm so sorry that I'm late! Work was really busy.

Yukiko would be happy to work with Kanji in any capacity.

Her family runs a bed and breakfast which could have bought food from his family when they owned the farm if you go the farmhand route. She's graduating soon, and has recently adopted a pug (thank Yu for the name. Al Capug) and loves dogs in general.

If you go the fashion designer route, I can definitely see them at least talking fashion since Yukiko is somewhat stylish in any universe. Also could be neighbors? And immigrant friends at that. Yukiko immigrated at age 6.
