plz teach her all you know about crime investigation

(jk she probably knows it all already due to her studies but she wants to hear it from people who are IN THE FIELD and DOING COOL INVESTIGATIONS)

"There is so much paper work" would probably be Tatsuo's chief complaint. He's going to be the guy everyone turns to and goes "IDK what this is, you deal with it"

But yes, come young budding detective and learn from this dorkface.

I need to collect all the bright-eyed honest cop types. It'll make Tatsuo feel all the worse when he starts remembering things. XD

It's okay. She's been let down before.

How long has he been on the force? Her father was a detective who was murdered along with his wife (in an apparent mugging gone wrong) about 12 years before the present day.

If my math is right, seven years. Five years for his undergrad, got his degree at 23. Joined the crime lab shortly after. So he'd be too young to have been around, but being that her dad was a cop, he might still have heard of the case.

Ahh yeah, that makes sense! So he'd probably have heard about the unsolved murder of Detective Shirogane and his wife but never met him.

She will like him anyway.

Right. And Tatsuo will totally have her back in the lab if Naoto wants to try to solve her parents murder. Especially as his reason for being a cop in his canon is the murder of his foster mom. He feels for you Naoto, he really does.

Thank you sir!!! though alas it was like 12 years ago so that is probably a very, very cold case right now...

This guy chased after a 20 year old cold case in canon.

Oh.
