AU NAME: Tatsuo Kihara
AU AGE: 26-30, somewhere in there
AU OCCUPATION: CSI, assistant karate instructor

BLURB:

* Japanese, but born in Recolle. His mom had and affair with a married man and relocated to Recolle after discovering she was pregnant.
* However, Tatsuo ended up in foster care Recolle Orphanage (this is what I get for not reading the whole setting page) at 11 after his mother was killed by a drunk driver.
* Got into scraps as a kid and eventually found his way to a karate teacher. Now he teaches part time at the karate dojo he trained at as a teen.
* After high school Tatsuo attended Recolle University and earned a degree in forensic science, which he uses working for the Recolle Police as a CSI.
* Has the fluffiest hair ever apparently (idk I've never understood why his hair is considered so weird in the manga)
* Disgustingly cheerful and a giant dork. Very laid back and easy going, but will occasionally smile when he doesn't really mean it, kind of a bad habit.
* He doesn't have too many hobbies, as work and teaching at the dojo keep him pretty busy. But he is a sneakerhead.
* He has terrible fashion sense otherwise. Terrible. Someone help him. He tries to dress cool and it's just, no.
* Has canon amnesia issues, so this will be fun.

LOOKING FOR: Looking for people Tatsuo lived with in the foster home, people he trained with at the karate dojo, college buddies, roommates (past and maybe present?), coworkers on the police force, ex or current girlfriend? I just want to make his life as happy as possible before I start breaking this cutie.

ALSO. My first born for a Tacchan. Like, they don't even have to be in the same foster home orphanage. Or even roommates in college, though that would be funny. Hell, I'd be fine if they'd never met in Recolle before at all, because the image of Ikuo chasing after Tatsuya like goldfish poop as he regains his memories and tries to convince Tatsuya that he knows him is extremely appealing.

OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: Not so much another character, as I can go two ways with Ikuo. I could app him from the manga or the drama. Apping him from the drama would just be so much easier, but there is so much more to work with manga-wise. As in trauma.

Majima is also an orphan and they could've know each other that way but also I like the idea of him also fighting at the dojo - maybe they could've trained together or Majima is really lazy about being disciplined with it so sometimes shows up for Tatsuo's classes? (Does he teach adults or only kids?)

If I end up going the drama route, he's going to end up being 30, so that'd put him about 7 yrs older than Majima. So there's room for overlap at the orphanage.

And while he would be adorable with the kids, I like the idea of Tatsuo handling adult classes. Because he's the kind of guy who'll hand you your ass while smiling. :|

Okay, dope on both points. He'd be really bad about coming to class consistently but he loves fighting and would smile both winning and getting his ass kicked so, you know.

haha Tatsuo might just go watch his cage fights, just so he can pick Majima's form apart when he does show up for class. "See? This is why you almost got your ass beat last week."

Yata is a newbie in the police force so they miiiight have worked together at some point! They can bond over sneakers and Yata can get annoyed at his face stop smiling.

Algira is also an orphan and also a cheerful dork, be one of his orphanage-big-brothers?

How young was Algira when he was brought to the orphanage? If I end up taking Tatsuo from the drama rather than the manga, he'll be 30. Though, I can see Tatsuo dropping by to visit even after he noped out at 18. Bring the kids christmas presents and whatnot.

he was a baby, like a year at most, because after he was found in a park his parents were never found. he's 20 now so I think some of the time they've spent there overlap?

okay so they actually would have entered the orphanage around the same time, as Tatsuo ended up there when he was 10/11. so that means he would have been there until Algira was eight, at which point Tatsuo would have settled into full big bro mode.

that is wonderful and sounds like it could be very cute. he might have had to go look for Algira at random points because wandering off after cats is A Thing.

hello! i have another person from the orphanage who is also taking karate, maybe tatsuo can be cleo's instructor? if they would have known each other from the orphanage, especially! cleo is a lot younger than him but been there forever so i think they would have known each other maybe?

Tatsuo would have been the dorky older brother at the orphanage and would have aged out when Cleo was about seven. So she can totally remember him if you want! I'm thinking he would drop by for Christmas to give the kids presents even after leaving. And yes, come study at the dojo with him!

I need to collect all the bright-eyed honest cop types. It'll make Tatsuo feel all the worse when he starts remembering things. XD

How long has he been on the force? Her father was a detective who was murdered along with his wife (in an apparent mugging gone wrong) about 12 years before the present day.

If my math is right, seven years. Five years for his undergrad, got his degree at 23. Joined the crime lab shortly after. So he'd be too young to have been around, but being that her dad was a cop, he might still have heard of the case.
