AU WORKSHOP - APRIL Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! CHARACTER: Roadhog
CANON: Overwatch
AU NAME: Mako Rutledge
AU AGE: 50
AU OCCUPATION: Mako runs a pawn shop, but offers freelance work on the side. Need some plumbing done? Carpentry? Car repair? Fix some faulty wiring? He's your guy. (It's not limited to this I want him to have such a wide skillset that people are like "how the hell can he do all of this stuff" and they will never ever find out)
BLURB:
- Probably a criminal before he came to Recolle. Probably had jailtime. You'll never know.
- Once he got out he had a hard time establishing himself in Australia of just wanting to work and keep to himself.
- Decided to move somewhere else, picked America and then Recolle for no specific reason.
- Probably lived here about ten years? Twenty? He's been here a long time anyway.
- He started off doing repairs freelance. Eventually opened up a pawn shop he worked out of; while he isn't out doing his repairing rounds, he can be found there buying and selling unwanted crap people have. Scraps a lot of stuff too for cash.
- He, despite his past (and au self) is actually a legitimate guy. He gives everyone a fair prices to try and foster customer loyalty. He knows it'll make him more cash in the long run.
- At some point an old friend of his got in contact with him and said their son was moving out to Recolle after he finished up at college. They asked him to look after him while he was there, which he accepted.
- He regrets this
- That son (Junkrat) lives with him, and they both live in the upper floor of the pawn shop. They get along but also don't get along. It's complicated.
- He's actually secretly very anti-establishment but only if you get him drunk, at which point he doesn't...shut up.
LOOKING FOR:
- customers!! If something breaks in your house/place of business and you want to have a reliable guy who can fix it up for you, Roadhog's your man. I'd like him to have a base of people who call him up often for this kind of thing. It's a better way to establish past cr anyway because he's less likely to make "Friends" normally. But he'd have no problem getting to know people who frequently make use of his services.
- that's...about it for now honestly, he's otherwise just a stubborn old grandpa who keeps to himself but isn't a bad person necessarily.

liz probably will have a repairman in the form of frank castle BUT!!! i'd love if he could be her mechanic? or maybe her car breaks down and he helps her. typical "its raining cats and dogs and my phone is dead. please help this woman".
or maybe when she was younger (as in early 20s) she bought some stuff from the pawn shop because she was a Poor Mom with low income :c

It could've been back when she was still poor income mom and she was having A Day and then on top of everything else her car breaks down outside his shop
And she comes in to ask to use his phone to call a mechanic but he offers to take a look at it for her
And ever since she comes to him for car repairs/selling stuff for money
If she's ever really strapped for cash he probably let her like, pay what she could (maybe like, pay the rest later in the month) to help her out
