CANON: The Amazing Spiez! (A Totally Spies! spin-off)

AU NAME: Anthony "Tony" Clark (I don't know if I can change his name and have his canon as his character's name from a spy show he's acting for)
AU AGE: 12
AU OCCUPATION: Middle school student/Child actor
BLURB: Okay, this is a rough AU, so please, bear with me.

- He's originally born in California with three older siblings, who are also child actors before him. His parents belonged to Recolle, however.
- He started acting in commercials at 4 years old. But along with his siblings, he then gets the main role in a TV show called "Spy Children" or something as the younger member of the spy team. (I'm accepting other suggestions for the TV show title because mine sucks...)
- Being the younger sibling of the family, Tony hates living the shadow of his siblings' popularity. Because of this, he has an inferiority complex and can be a little tsundere to any kid older than him, unlike his canon.
- After the show ended when he was 11, the whole family moved to Recolle for their children to continue their studies.
- While he's now attending middle school in Recolle, he is still focusing on his acting career, unlike his siblings in an attempt to get notice and be more popular than them. This makes him a little arrogant than his canon.
- Despite his arrogance, he still wants to be a normal kid and will be happy to find some friends of all ages. Just that he still acts cold to any older kids, not adults, though.

LOOKING FOR: Friends, either old or young (same age) and people that helps him out of his inferiority complex or his tsundere personality.
OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: None, but I don't know if I app him in February app round, since he wasn't accepted at the other DWRP yet...

Sans has gotten used to working a few jobs while going to school AND taking care of his younger brother when their parents disappeared. He started working when he was 16 and hasn’t stopped since.

He was smart/talented enough to earn a master’s degree in physics by the time he turned 25 while working all those jobs.

Despite all that, he still manages to come off as super lazy???

He worked in a lab for a little while, but suddenly quit for some strange reason. He doesn’t like to talk about it.

If asked, he’ll say he took a city job because it’s easy and for the health benefits. He’s not entirely lying.

He’ll be played with the same exact personality as from the game! He’s charismatic, easy-going, and loves puns. Basically, the kind of guy anyone can get along with and vice versa.

AU NAME: Akane Kurashiki
AU AGE: 22
AU OCCUPATION: Youtube personality/University Student/Secret Conspiracy Theorist
BLURB:

✽ Akane Kurashiki was born in Japan. She was raised by a loving family; her mother, father, and siblings.
✽ Her father holds a dual citizenship, forcing him to travel between Japan and the US for business. Her parents mutually filed for divorce when she was six. Akane's mother won sole custody due to her father's hectic work schedule, but was given permission to visit him during most major holidays for a week at most.
✽ Her love for cooking and baking began to flourish after learning to do all kinds of different dishes from cooking shows and books since her mother was busy working. She grew a sense of pride whenever everyone would praise her cooking. It began to flourish even more after her peers and teachers learned of her baking skills once she brought some of her goodies as gifts to end the school year. She grew popular and gained the title as "talented end of year baker".
✽ Her mother died from a fatal car accident at the age of twelve, and was force to move to the United States to live with her father.
✽ Due to her father constant work schedule, Akane and her siblings were left behind and looked after by the house keeper that would cook and clean for them, which gave her the opportunity to fully concentrate in school, make many friends, and join the baking club.
✽ Her talent in baking soon got recognized by the club after winning many contests and selling the most treats at bake sales.
✽ Akane began to take pictures and short videos of her baked treats on her Instagram, many of her followers began to suggest the idea to create youtube videos -- which she thought was a silly idea.
✽ Akane grew interested in conspiracy theories in high school due to a school project and stumbling onto a book predicting the demise of a certain ship hitting an ice berg.
✽ After joining countless chat-rooms, message boards, podcasts, and whatever else places she can find, and expanding her knowledge further over conspiracy theories that she decided to create a private blog talking about it under the alias known as Zero. Most of her theories were about the food and agricultural industry due to her interest in becoming a pastry chef in the future. From there, it slowly began to expand to government conspiracies, focusing on the US and its relationship with major cooperation.
✽ Realizing that her blog was slowly gaining traction and money, she needed to find a way to keep the money earned a secret from her family that she decided to open her own baking youtube channel, creating baking and cooking videos. Her brand became known as Baking Waves with June as the host, concentrating on traditional baking while creating mix media themes -- such as memes, video games, movies, and other requests.
✽ It took until graduating high school for Zero and June to grow infamous in their own realities.
✽ Akane decides to move to Recolle to major as a pastry chef, but in reality it's to investigate the city.

Family members! I'd love for her to have older siblings, however. Baking fans or conspiracy theory peeps. Childhood friends. University buddies. People that can better help her with her social media channels as June or fellow hackers and other conspiracy theorists helping her out. People willing to help her get info on Recolle. Anything, really, hit me up with ideas!

but honestly kyrie is kind of a strange personality in terms of how he conducts himself online so i think it could be fun to play out an online friendship developing into a real life friendship if youre into that!

-Wolfram was born and raised in Germany for most of his life. He's in Recolle to study abroad, spend more time with his mother, and put off a decision about whether or not he's going to go into politics like his uncle.
-The Hertz family has a long history of being in politics and other law fields as well as some business. They're a known name in Germany, but probably unknown to most people in the USA unless they pay attention to global politics.
-Wolf's an only child, but he's close enough to his cousins that they might as well be his siblings.
-His mom is kind of a...free spirit.
-He's spoiled and he knows it. He's also pretty and he knows it.
-One of his relatives adopted Garnet into the family, most likely!
-Wolfram is still a little blond salt mine with a short fuse.
-He has an interest in singing and painting, and will participate in musicals as much as possible. It's a secret dream of his to perform on Broadway just for one show.

Fell in and out of sketchy crowds and found herself modelling and designing under the name "Violeta X" (she's so edgy). Started college but never finished. Her work is futuristic, very cyberpunk in theme. Do you want to look like someone wrapped you in wire and dunked you in a tank of neon paint? That's what her fashion looks like. Her family are supportive but warn her that her mouth can get her into trouble, but she knows she can be charming, she can lie, she can cheat and she can steal as necessary.
LOOKING FOR: Family, found family, fellow artsy, entertainment and likeminded type people. People to annoy her. Wholesome people for her to be that one friend. That one person who is bumming on her couch in her apartment.

- Born in Recolle as an only child to a single mother. Deadbeat dad probably.
- Struggled a little financially growing up. Latchkey kid. Does her best to be independent and learned to look after herself as much as possible.
- Pretty much friendly toward everyone she meets. Upbeat, kind but partially to mask some of her own insecurities. Primarily does it to keep up the front that everything's okay and nobody needs to worry about her. She's fine. Everything's just fine.
- Recovering from a pretty serious accident that happened within the last year. Car crash, hit by a car, something like that. Spent the last several months in physical rehab and is just coming back to school and catching up with life again. Quietly feels guilty about the extra financial strain.
- Started taking martial arts classes during her recovery, struggled at it but quickly developed an interest. Currently taking amateur MMA courses.
- Tiny and fluffy but scrappy as heck and not afraid to throw a punch. Definitely the type to stand up for other kids and people who can't stand up for themselves and can now back it up physically so if anyone happens to be some poor bullied sod who needs a little girl to fight their battles she can be that little girl.
- Probably has pet rats because of author bias. Enjoy that.
LOOKING FOR: I'd like to keep siblings out of the picture to keep the only child thing but extended family is great. Cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents. I'd love to get an actual parent up in here and maybe a hardass martial arts teacher to by the Mickey to her Rocky. She'll friend damn near anybody her own age whether they're as outgoing as she, prickly or shy so she's great if your character needs somebody to tug them out of their shell or be relentlessly nice at forever. Awkward teenage romances. I dunno, I'll work with about anything so come at me.
OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: I've got... a couple of ideas brewing but they'll probably make it up here at some point so for now I'll work with this!

AU NAME: Marvin "Marv" Furuya
AU AGE: 25
AU OCCUPATION: Former conman, looking for work.
BLURB: Hailing from the 35th Super Sentai, Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, Captain Marvelous is a space pirate who constantly acts like he's only out for his and his crew's interests, but somehow keeps saving the world in the process. To quote a friend of mine from way back, he is "tsundere for justice." He can also summon the power of every other Sentai, but because of how that mechanically works in the show that's PROBABLY not gonna fly here beyond his base powers.

Here, however, things start a bit differently:

Marv started life fairly normally, and comfortably. The only child of doctors, he didn't really have to WANT for much as a kid. His parents were loving and had a strong moral compass, attempting to instill a good sense of right and wrong when he was young.

However, things didn't end well - on a humanitarian mission overseas, both of his parents were killed by being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Disillusioned, and without any real family to speak of to take him in, he bounced from foster home to foster home, becoming hell for anyone to deal with.

At one point he actually landed in a fairly well off home, but the head of the household was a real shady - but smooth - business investor. Long story short, he manages to eventually pilfer a great deal of the inheritance from Marv's parents, something that ends with him beating the ever loving shit out of the man and spending some time in juvenile detention.

Determined not to be used by the system he deems screwed over his life, Marv becomes quite skilled in certain abilities. Most of which ... kind of unsavory. By the time he'd become a young adult, he'd become quite the con man. While never doing anything that would hurt anyone DIRECTLY, and focusing often on those quite wealthy, he's rooked quite a few people out of money between scams, grifting, pick pocketing, some underground gambling, selling knock offs and "it fell off the truck, honest, it's completely not hot" merchandise. The whole nine yards.

Eventually he goes a little too far, steals some rich asshole's car and then he gets arrested and sent to BIG TIME jail. A lot of things come to a head then with a number of his "partners" ratting out a long trail of his misdeeds, and Marv ends up with a nice little prison sentence.

Given a lot of time to reflect on his life, once released he attempts to turn over a new leaf. Get an honest job. Make a real living. Of course, the past tends to keep clawing at him, and some habits are hard to break - especially when you have memories of being a FUCKING PIRATE hitting you. But also a superhero? How the hell does THAT work?

LOOKING FOR: Just about anything, but I'm shifting my goals from him initially, where he was going to START OUT the con man. I think this method is a lot more befitting his character's nature, as Marvelous is a hero constantly in a struggle with himself to be an asshole to everyone. Buuuut... still a hero, but you'll never hear him admit that.

- His mother is alive! She's divorced? or just separated from his father. Leo has never met the guy and honestly he is fine with that.
- He has a younger sibling he tries to look after and set a terrible example for. Whatever will make them laugh, right??
- They're originally from Texas and moved to the city so his mom could find better work.
- Leo volunteers at the garage his mom works at in his spare time to learn things and help out.
- He also skips school too much to work part-time at another garage to help support the family (and also so mom won't find out he's skipping)

- When he does go to school, he tends to find his way into trouble whether he tries to or not. Often this is for mouthing off or pranking teachers and other prime targets. Also the occasional prank war that he drags friends into.
- He has a thing for fireworks. No one knows where he gets them all.
- He's decided that if (big if) he goes to college after graduation, he wants to major in robotics, because making miniature robotic things is a hobby of his. Leo doesn't expect this to actually happen because A. money, and B. MONEY. Helping support the family comes first!
- But seriously, don't let him talk mechanics. He is NOT going to shut up once you do.
- Enjoys social media too much, especially Twitter and Instagram. He can be absolutely obnoxious on Twitter (like 10+ comment chains all at once) and likes to Instagram pictures of his mechanical/robotic endeavors or stupid pictures of his friends. Every single one of them is tagged, just to make sure they see each one.

LOOKING FOR: Friends, family, classmates, fellow delinquents, and any negative CR is cool too! He gets on people's nerves pretty easily.

AU NAME: Anthony James, Tony for short. Yes, the last name causes problems. Yes, it annoys him, but what can you do?
AU AGE: Early to mid 40s. Not nailed down yet. Prime mid-life crisis territory.
AU OCCUPATION: Insurance adjustor.
BLURB: In canon, Nate was also an insurance adjustor; his company let his son die via refusal to pay on his polity to cover treatment, and he left in disgust. Given a chance to get revenge, he took it, and in the process formed a team with four thieves of various skills. Following that job, they turned their skills to helping people: getting back what's been taken from average folks by those with all the money and all the power. Through cons and clever schemes, Nate's team makes a name for themselves as those who provide leverage for those suffering under the weight of unchecked power, and Nate himself leads the team and calls the shots. Because sometimes the best bad guys make he best good guys.

Tony's lived in Recollé for some time; call it a decade plus. Wherever he came from before now is a distant memory, though it's somewhere on the East Coast.

Distant from extended family; hasn't talked to his parents in a year or two. Local family is a different story; he's been married but is presently divorced and hasn't spoken to his wife in a little while. Kids may or may not exist and are open to be played if anyone's interested.

Lived in a decently-appointed home out in the suburbs until recently. Nice car, well-cared-for lawn, the picture of professionalism.

Works for a large insurance firm (still need a name for it) as a highly-placed adjustor at the Recollé office. He investigates scenes and gathers information to educate others on what gets paid out and what gets declined. He's well-regarded... or, at least, he was until a few years ago.

Three years ago, Tony's home went up in a fire ruled suspicious. Everything of value was lost, beyond documents and very limited valuables - even his car was totaled. The blaze was investigated thoroughly, but though the fire department eventually gave up its arson investigation and determined there wasn't enough evidence to treat it as more than an accident, the adjusters had a different view: there was enough suspicion of foul play that the blame was pointed at Tony. He wound up with nothing more than a token payout for a closet of clothing and his car; the house was more or less razed to the ground with all belongings still inside, though he and his family escaped unharmed, save a few mild burns on Tony's arms and a cut on his back that has scarred.

Feels betrayed by his company; he knows the rules as well as anyone else, but he also doesn't buy for a moment that there was foul play - it could only have been an accident. A burning desire for revenge smolders in his heart, but there's not much to be done for it... right?

Since the fire, lives in a one-bedroom apartment downtown near the office; drives a beater of a car since he can't afford anything better with the mortgage payment on the old house. Rather than his old tailored suits, things are bought off the discount rack at the department store, or rarely secondhand. He's visibly tired, and running on fumes. It's probably best to say his anger is what's driving him.

Hobbies are generally a big question mark; the rest of this kind of all hit me at once and I haven't sat down to think about what he does in his off time other than plotting his glorious revenge. Recently took to drinking; an early regain may or may not make this worse. Thanks, canon!Tony.

Intended direction: As Tony regains memories of his canon self, he'll start to recognize that he does have options - ways to get revenge - but he can't start yet. It'd be too soon, too easily noticed, and he doesn't have the resources. But he can pick up where his other self left off, and become the bad guy the world needs to save them from the worse guys. Because sometimes the best bad guys make the best good guys... even if a good guy had to become bad to do it.

NOTE: Cons in Leverage aren't the kind of thing where you're necessarily out to do evil and break the law blatantly - more often than not, you're skirting the law, or maybe even doing something legal but kind of gray and hard to manage without having to cheat a bit. For a majority of the things he'll get up to in Recollé, there is a minimal or zero chance of being arrested simply because nothing illegal is happening. That doesn't mean he won't end up doing that kind of thing, but it shouldn't be a barrier to CR or to characters interested in being part of the team. It does mean he's going to build negative CR with NPCs over time, though, and over time that may cause separate problems for himself and his CR. Does Recollé have a local mob?

LOOKING FOR: Not necessarily canonmates, but teammates; while having his specific crew from canon would work, there are many more people out in the multiverse that could help his cause. Sterling or equivalent, because I need a Neutral Asshole foil to run against. Family members could work, but there is that fire to deal with - where did everyone scatter to? Friends and co-workers are fine, though! I'm probably also forgetting things, so I'm good for questions and ideas too.

Her AU counterpart? Amelia Fontaine is instead the youngest daughter of a particularly noteworthy crime family. Yes, she's a mob princess instead of the princess of peace-loving planet.

While both Amelia and Ahim both grew up wanting for nothing, they had completely different experiences. Amelia was spoiled rotten, knowing full well what her father did for a "living", and enjoyed a charmed life.

Around her eighteenth birthday, the Fontaine family's criminal empire basically went up in smoke due to an FBI investigation. Seeing where the wind was blowing, Amelia sided with both his rivals and those prosecuting, and helped the case against her dad.

Afterwards, used the portion of her family's money she and her siblings were able to hold on to basically "buy" her way out of the family and start a new life in Recollé.

I'm thinking of having her set up a small cafe in Tisse, which she basically pays other people to run for her while she enjoys the atmosphere.

Tries to keep her eye on both high society and less reputable things, thinking it's wise to have friends in places both high and low. She doesn't talk about her reputation, but considering the case against her father was probably huge, it's probably easy for people to know about it.

A bit more openly devious and catty than Ahim is; well meaning but with an even more flexible idea of morality. Likes to mess with people, but doesn't really get up to commiting crimes herself. She just likes the image.
LOOKING FOR: Anything, really. High society people to frequent her establishment or for her to befriend, people who visit her cafe, less moral and reputable people for her to befriend... the sky's the limit here. She'd also be willing to give people who have been in trouble with the law a good, respectable job - all you have to do is deal with people wondering if she's up to something.
