AU WORKSHOP - FEBRUARY
Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. CHARACTER: Laphicet
CANON: Tales of Berseria

AU NAME: This I am less sure on but am pretty sure I'll want something other than 'Laphicet'. For more normal name reasons. I'll have a think and get back to this.

atm I'm thinking Asher or Michael, maybe?

AU AGE: Ten? Probably. Eight to ten ish, around there. Canonically it is Complicated and we will not Go There.
AU OCCUPATION: Student. Maybe an errand boy or something ala newspapers or something on the side for some allowance but nothing more due to his age.
BLURB:

• Child who moved to the city from a more rural town with his parents, uncle and aunt.
• Not from the wealthiest family initially, but his father is better off and helps the family a lot. They move with him for his job. Which is probably something Important. idk what yet.
• Probably has a newspaper run. Newspapers are still a thing in this digital era right?
• Starting a new bug collection after the move. Beetles especially.
• Shy but the most Loyal ever once you actually befriend him. No, really.
• Debating maybe somehow incorporating the whole 'traveling performers' thing because I kept laughing so hard with Magilou and her 'Magilou's Menagerie' thing she had going through the game canon. Somehow. Getting this in somewhere. Maybe. In which case I'd probably change his 'family' to something more similar to the dynamics he has with the party in Berseria?
• Usually quiet but perks up if his particular interests are mentioned.
• Gullible as heck. So gets teased a lot. Probably.
• The most protective aunt ever.
• Nerd. So...possibly in a slightly higher class then others his age? Maybe a year or two higher?

LOOKING FOR: Family, friends, idk if he would have rivals for anything but? Classmates, teachers? ~~Traveling band of criminals to bff~~?

This probably won't happen until next round if I actually do go through with this. But. Well.

Eleanor and Laphicet could possibly work for the newspaper? Eleanor meeting Laphicet through that and them hitting it off i.e; Eleanor's motherly instincts Kicking In when she starts to get to know him.

That could be cute. Yes. I approve of this idea. And/or maybe babysitting after school or something?

YES.... Eleanor ends up helping with babysitting him on like... a weekly basis?

I could see it. In reference to her helping look out for him in canon. But also just. Too young to be left at home alone and Laphicet being indignant about it even though most of the time he just goes in the backyard or park to play/stays inside reading anyway until his family get back from work.

Mikleo will get the worst taste in his mouth at the name Michael later so I'm gonna just encourage it

also he'll probably adopt Laphi and feed him many things

Mi--oh man I did not even. Think about the Zestiria Michael implications. I was just going through baby name site or whatever for ideas on more normal names because...Laphicet decidedly isn't.

But yes good. Feed him, Meebo. And probably eventually bond over the malak/seraph thing of 'wait why can't people see me/us now??!!'

hell yes. Thank God for people like Sorey, tbh. ~~Also...I gotta throw Velvet at him, since she'll basically have the same personality as she did prior to THINGS THAT HAPPENED~~

idk if this will make them think Sorey is the one sane one or the only crazy one in being able to see and hear them but. Yes. That ought be hilarious.

Mikleo's still not sure if Sorey is all that sane. So. Jury's still out, dw.

I am sure Mikleo and Laphi will not be the only ones questioning Sorey's sanity if they think he's talking and interacting with.....air....

It will sure be an adjustment. Also possibly something I could see Laphi trying to use to his advantage somehow.

I hate you and love you at the same time right now.

That said, if he needs a tutor, Sorey's open! He's a history TA at the high school but takes tutoring jobs on the side, and of course, he's a history nerd. Let's foster that sense of adventure.

I wasn't even considering Zestiria's Michael when I did that, actually.....somehow.....

But I approve of nerds being nerds together, yes! Maybe Sorey could come catch bugs with him and Laphi can teach him more about bugs in exchange or something?

Hell yeah!!! He'll become an expert bug catcher just to make the kid happy, watch him go.

Catch ALL the bugs! Yes! Okay this is pretty tame in comparison to exploring across oceans but still. He could be content with this. And at least Sorey would always still be able to actually see him once the malak/seraph thing happens again.

Sounds good to me! I'm working on getting him his resonance back first. :|b

Resonance is important. Yes, good. I approve of this. Just means Sorey wouldn't be one Laphicet could be hide and seek champ with but could be an option for looking after the kid because Sorey can....actually see him at that point.
