Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. AU OCCUPATION: Youtube personality/University Student/Secret Conspiracy Theorist
BLURB:

✽ Akane Kurashiki was born in Japan. She was raised by a loving family; her mother, father, and siblings.
✽ Her father holds a dual citizenship, forcing him to travel between Japan and the US for business. Her parents mutually filed for divorce when she was six. Akane's mother won sole custody due to her father's hectic work schedule, but was given permission to visit him during most major holidays for a week at most.
✽ Her love for cooking and baking began to flourish after learning to do all kinds of different dishes from cooking shows and books since her mother was busy working. She grew a sense of pride whenever everyone would praise her cooking. It began to flourish even more after her peers and teachers learned of her baking skills once she brought some of her goodies as gifts to end the school year. She grew popular and gained the title as "talented end of year baker".
✽ Her mother died from a fatal car accident at the age of twelve, and was force to move to the United States to live with her father.
✽ Due to her father constant work schedule, Akane and her siblings were left behind and looked after by the house keeper that would cook and clean for them, which gave her the opportunity to fully concentrate in school, make many friends, and join the baking club.
✽ Her talent in baking soon got recognized by the club after winning many contests and selling the most treats at bake sales.
✽ Akane began to take pictures and short videos of her baked treats on her Instagram, many of her followers began to suggest the idea to create youtube videos -- which she thought was a silly idea.
✽ Akane grew interested in conspiracy theories in high school due to a school project and stumbling onto a book predicting the demise of a certain ship hitting an ice berg.
✽ After joining countless chat-rooms, message boards, podcasts, and whatever else places she can find, and expanding her knowledge further over conspiracy theories that she decided to create a private blog talking about it under the alias known as Zero. Most of her theories were about the food and agricultural industry due to her interest in becoming a pastry chef in the future. From there, it slowly began to expand to government conspiracies, focusing on the US and its relationship with major cooperation.
✽ Realizing that her blog was slowly gaining traction and money, she needed to find a way to keep the money earned a secret from her family that she decided to open her own baking youtube channel, creating baking and cooking videos. Her brand became known as Baking Waves with June as the host, concentrating on traditional baking while creating mix media themes -- such as memes, video games, movies, and other requests.
✽ It took until graduating high school for Zero and June to grow infamous in their own realities.
✽ Akane decides to move to Recolle to major as a pastry chef, but in reality it's to investigate the city.

LOOKING FOR:
Family members! I'd love for her to have older siblings, however. Baking fans or conspiracy theory peeps. Childhood friends. University buddies. People that can better help her with her social media channels as June or fellow hackers and other conspiracy theorists helping her out. People willing to help her get info on Recolle. Anything, really, hit me up with ideas!

OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: Monaca Towa from Dangan Ronpa is another character I'd wish to play if Akane doesn't work out or does.

i wanna say kyrie would be willing to lend her some info just because shes a really interesting gal and because i'd love to see them interact. talk conspiracies to me kurashiki.

but honestly kyrie is kind of a strange personality in terms of how he conducts himself online so i think it could be fun to play out an online friendship developing into a real life friendship if youre into that!

Yes, I am very open to the idea of having her and Kyrie being friends online. She has a reputation to protect as June, so she'll be playing that up a little at first, but I can see her trusting people once she knows they aren't secretly working for Big Brother, the Shadow Government, alien spy, terrorist, or Retrospec bots/AI/staff, then she'll definitely warm up and slowly put her cutesy personality down a bit.

I think it would be perfect if they met online and created a friendship there. Weird people joining forces needs to be a thing, yes! Akane will try her best to mirror him as best as possible ffff.

omg no it feels totally fitting while also being really unconventional! out of complete personal curiosity what canon point were you thinking about taking her from?

kyrie is here to talk to her about documentaries about ancient alien mermaids and how we might all just be living in a simulated reality because there is no god. i don't think her june personality would deter him at all because he definitely is kind of weird and fake online tbh! neither of them really seem like people who are honest in how they present themselves so their interactions online and offline will definitely be something.

That's the theme I was going for, not gonna lie. I cannot imagine Akane living a normal life. She needs to somehow rock the boat, even if she can't use the morphegenetic field to be like God. Anyway! I'm thinking of taking her in the epilogue to VLR, where she is talking to Sigma and the reactors around the world explode; or the branching arc of D-End 1 and C-End 1, where she has knowledge of what happens in ZTD and still head to the history of VLR. That way I can keep her current form and can have her switch all three personalities between ZTD and 999.

Documentaries about ancient alien mermaids, you say!? Akane will be easily tempted to watch those videos with him, yes. Watch his talk about living in a simulated reality remind her of the explanation over there being no god in ZTD. I will love that, no lie. You're definitely right. Akane rarely shows her true colors, so it would be fun to have her Machiavellian side to appear to others as much as her more cutesy and adaptive personalities that caters to certain people to better gain their trust to pop up. I have every reason to play out those very sides to her.

I'm not even sure what I could offer except Joshua would likely follow both of her personalities. That and I just wanted to comment on your AU idea of being just great!

Maybe he can be one of her first group of fans for both June and Zero. I can imagine she'll always hold them at a special place in her heart and would do everything she can to personally reach out them in the comments section. I don't mind having them have a semi-friendship at first, then growing it from there?

I just read your own top level and I'm just thinking maybe she can help him out by being friends with him. She does need an alibi to help her get out of government questioning and all.

Gosh, he'd appreciate that if she did reach out to him. And yes, it can totally start off as a semi-friendship and grow from there. But yeah, he needs friends because holy cow he stinks at making them. He's not mean or anything, just really distant and basically has a wall up around him. So someone actually trying to be his friend he'd really appreciate!

And heck, what high school kid wouldn't like helping out people getting out of government questioning?

Friendship and support system is a go! I just know she'll end up adopting him as a little bro figure that needs her to be a friendship wingman to once he gets her out of those sticky governmental questioning jams because what better way to prove you aren't a government/alien/terrorist/Santa Claus spy, am I right?

jake is super into the youtube/social media thing! he runs a movie review/theory channel and keeps up with various social media sites to maintain it. he's fairly popular and he's been doing it for a few years now so he knows the ins and outs of how to work things, how to deal with youtube's (shitty) service, etc. also he likes to promo interesting channels/sites if that's something you're interested in.

Yes, yes, I am! I'd love to have them doing some kind of collaboration together. With Akane making mix media theme base treats, they can do a movie review/discussion while baking the treat dedicated to said movie. No, even better, maybe they can put their final judgement score of the movie on it too and do this grand reveal! I think it'd be a neat idea.

oh no that sounds super cute!!! omg i love it?? we have to have them do that. he'd be so excited to help out too. he's actually pretty interested in baking/cooking he's just never really tried it much until recently.

Then she'll have no issue in wanting to help him learn how to bake/cook. He only needs to ask and she'll help him out without any trouble. I'd imagine she would take the time to do practice sessions with him before they record the actual episode, so he won't feel lost and cut back on time too.

You know what, it'd be neat if they have known each other beforehand in one of those yearly youtube seminars because they were invited and are under the same network. Maybe, even, they were introduce to each other there, with their network giving them the idea to collaborate, but never got around to it because Akane lived too far away from Recolle at the time. That is, if you don't mind the idea of them having CR beforehand. ~~plus it would help cover up the fact june and zero are connected because now june has reason to move to the city other than for school~~

I could see the two of them having possibly brushed paths on a couple of conspiracy boards and chats, and that building into a sort of... idk, distant, information based kind of friendship or something, where they don't really even know who each other is IRL, necessarily?

Yesssss! I can easily get behind this! I definitely need someone to play as her conspiracy buddy informant. Maybe Matt convinced her to move to Recolle because of the suspicious activity of that new social network company popping out of nowhere?

Oh man, that's really really good! I like that. Just a big heads up that there's suspicious things going on, including completely empty offices opening up out of nowhere and things like that. Huge red flags.

No way! She needs to get behind that and take pictures, if possible, to prove it! If all else fails, just use Zero to be all "DON'T BELIEVE THOSE BUILDINGS FILLED WITH EMPTY PROMISES, DREAMS, AND ACTUAL PEOPLE AND FURNITURE, AMERICA!"

Yeah, I feel this is a start of a lovely friendship! I'd love to add Matt onto her app, if you don't mind being the reason she decided to get her butt over there. Her pen pal conspiracy buddy gave her the heads up.

Honestly speaking, I didn't have any particular CR in mind, I just really wanted to say that Akane is one of my alltime favorite fictional characters and I seriously enjoy what you've decided to do with her. An interesting direction and good interpretation of the word "AU" while still incorporating her canon characterization super well. As someone who's had Sigma Klim as a longtime muse, I'm looking forward to seeing you around if you decide to app!

Very late reply. But, this post made my day when I first saw it. It's really awesome to hear that you liked the direction I wish to take her in. Akane became one of my favorite female characters after playing ZTD, but my love with her got even better after 999 and VLR. Yes, I played the games backwards, but I really did enjoy all of her incarnations. Sigma is another favorite, and I am so freaking happy to find someone who plays him!

Even if you have no CR in mind, I hope to get the chance to play with you. C:

I like that idea! I would very much like Akane to make more friends especially with those who are very focus like your character. She rarely make a lot of gal friends in canon, so it'd be nice if she can make a lot of them in this game instead.

Nah it's chill! I'm a little late in return, alas...Depending on when you'd want them to have been/become friends Thalia's attitude would be a bit different - she's very very protective of her friends so messing with them Annoys her, and the longer she's known you the more at risk you are to this

To save mankind from imminent destruction. We can't allow for this world, too, to be lost, even if it isn't our "original" version of things.

~~i'm a grown man now, akane.~~ there's always a first time for everything. i actually had planned to app him this round, but i've been super busy as of late and i think i'd app someone else first. but if you do app her, i'll let you know what will my decision be since your au looks interesting and junpei would fit here pretty well too.
