►Born in North Carolina, moved to New York around age 4.
►Father is a politician, mother is a housewife
►Was in private school pretty much up to age 17, he graduated early.
►He grew up a bit sheltered and was shy, not one to really get into trouble or anything of the sort. Mama's boy, basically.
►Father passes away when he is 19 due to a heart aneurysm caused by stress and overworking. There's a bit of a media frenzy with this, conspiracies abound, because he was also trying to eventually make his way to Congress to help make a difference, but while it never reached national coverage, Hope was social media savvy enough and his mother received enough calls from journalists that they both decided to simply move away from it all.
►His mother received his father's inheritance and life insurance, so they were still well off but they still opt to move.
►Hope takes about a year sabbatical to help his mother move to Recolle, he gets his transcripts in order and transfers to Recolle University.
►Things quiet down and Hope uses his time keeping away from social media and the like to get back into his studies. He gets his PhD in Pharmacology when he is 25 (he took classes in summer and winter as well has having a full load in the normal semesters) and is now a pharmacist at Recolle Pharmacy (or maybe just a local drug store like a CVS or Rite-Aid, we'll see!).
►He lives with his mother as he wants to take care of her after the stress of losing their loved one, but she does make it a point to move forward as well and works in administration for the City. Hope makes enough money for the both of them but she doesn't want to stay home all day.
►Hope is no longer quite as shy and sheltered by this time, having to essentially stop clinging to his mother and instead be the man of the house and take care of things.

Koutarou can be that weird paint-covered guy who comes in to buy a bit too much bandaids and bandages a bit too often because he gets hurt a lot that the people at the pharmacy/drug store whisper about when he's there; but it's really because he's the kind of idiot who draws and walks at the same time even though he's been told literally ten thousand times not to. (It's definitely been getting worse lately, too, because he takes to the forest sometimes these days.)

+ Born and raised in the city.
+ He may have beat up a gang or two that was causing real chaos in his area of the city. The legend of this act gets crazier as the years go on, and he just shrugs it off, and makes it sound even more fantastical any time anyone asks. ("I punched a guy through a wall." Deadpan response.)
+ Maybe an adopted or guardian to someone, but he, himself, isn't married.
+ Fairly reliable person but can be kind of difficult to know. Very sarcastic and sass-master about a lot of things, but honestly worry about others when trouble actually comes around. He's very ride-or-die when it goes down to it, but the first impression of him is not always the greatest.
+ Cat-lover. Owns a lot of black cats that he adopts from humane societies in the city.
+ Pretty good at tracking people down. Sorry, not the kind that calls on the phone or works for any company. It's for the people that really want their money and not wanting to go about it politely anymore.
+ Involved in more of the less than nice places of the city. That said, he's happy to give what information that he has on whatever nonsense that he hears is going on.
+ Not all bad, though, someone might meet him by him lending money to them if they're running short of bus fare, subway fare, or just struggling to buy a meal in line somewhere.
+ They'll also find him a few days or weeks later asking for his money back, but he'll not charge any interest, at least. So, prepare for that heart-attack. Just when you thought that you had a nice story of someone paying for your meal never to be seen again, he shows up asking for his 5 dollars back. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

+ No one is honestly sure what her hair color actually is, it seems like she has phases where she wants it bright orange, or bright pink and will thus show up to school the next day with that color without warning.
+ Has her very own club at the high school. Originally it was called "Surround Eruna With Cute Girls" club before the school forced her to change it. Then she wanted it to be called "Eruna's Fight Club" but the school made her change it again so now it's just an afterschool games and activities club.
+ Gets her fighting fix via a martial arts class on weekends instead now.
+ Has a band? Or at least wants to be in one, as she knows how to sing and play guitar.
+ Spends way too much time at the arcade. Currently holds the highest scores on the DDR machine though, at least.
+ Has a part time job to support her gaming habits, but constantly keeps having to get a new job every few months or so for one reason or another.

✪ He continued his studies--international relations, which is always found humorously ironic--while playing with the band. He'd always loved music and while his parents supported his interest, they never saw it as something he could do for a career, but playing with the band here feels different, hopeful. Needless to say, he was disappointed when Leo left
✪ It's not like he followed Leo exactly but he did transfer to Recolle the summer after Leo's departure and has been enrolled here ever since
✪ He still writes songs and plays when he gets the chance--he's that guy in the quad with a guitar--but with the end of his undergrad looming, he's feeling the pressure to decide between music or further education
✪ Personality-wise, he's very close to canon: charming, flirtatious, generous, fond of nicknames, and not great at taking no for an answer. He's intelligent but is willing to be seen as a fool since he knows he'll prove the perception wrong in time, and there's nothing he enjoys more than the challenge afforded by someone who really, really doesn't like him. He doesn't handle things with quite as much grace and style as in canon, though, allowing his insecurities to appear somewhat closer to the surface, but only around people he trusts. Otherwise, it's all smiles here, baby~

• Sandalphon doesn't remember much aside from being abandoned and taken into the foster care system where he hopped from family to family until he settles into one. Some were bad, some were okay. He never felt attached, but he felt there was little meaning to life. He was an unwanted child?
• Finally, the family he settles in the most with included an older brother who was ever so caring. Sandalphon was quite attached to him.
• Family is rather devout and go to church every Sunday, so he does think in a way that he was saved by them, or at least saw the light because of them. He made more friends because he opened up, if even a bit.
• Eventually, he's adopted by a nice family, though not as religious, and they move to Recolle. He keeps in touch with his brother and his friends after that, though still retaining his rather standoffish demeanor.
• Even when his family doesn't continue the traditions, he takes it upon himself to go to youth group during high school, then life groups as a college student.
• Majored in social work with a minor in music! He used to play music when no one is around and stuff. Generally kept to himself, not all too friendly, not hostile.
• Instead of diving into social work like he had intended, he felt better about the opportunity to be a worship director at a local growing church. He's been working here ever since he graduated!! He leads Sunday services with music, etc.
• HOBBIES... He really likes coffee, so he tries out every coffee shop and rates them on Yelp. Sometimes he writes his own music? He also frequents the internet more than he would like to admit. There's only one game on his phone and it's Recolle's version of Granblue Fantasy and yes he's a light lord.
• He still does gigs like perform at other places!
• He plays the piano, the guitar, a couple of strings...... And he sings... like... an angel.

LOOKING FOR: hacks... this is very tentative, but friends, church-goers, coffee shop regulars, and peers? i don't think anyone goes to life group or anything but people from that would be cool too

I'm honestly not sure why, but should you decide on Rarity and I decide on Lapis, I'd like them to know each other. I'm not sure they'd "get" each other, because Roberta/Lapis is pretty anti-social and unhappy, and perhaps not Rarity's idea of stylish? (Idk, though, I'm canonblind to MLP of any kind.) But I'd like to see where things end up.

AU OCCUPATION: currently a cleaner working as part of an agency; moonlights as a fiction writer
BLURB:

Looks like this... but more goth aesthetic in clothes. Also, she is mute and was born mute.

Her birth parents were involved in organised crime, and she witnessed a fair amount of shady shit happening around them during her formative years because of it, but they were loving and protective of her while they were around.

When she was young, said parents were involved in a motorcycle accident, resulting in her getting shunted into the foster care system. She has kept in sporadic touch with them, but has not seen them in some time.

After being passed around for a while, she settled down with one family in particular and was looked after well, although she took a while to come out of her shell and never quite felt like she fit in.

It took a while for her adopted family/doctors/teachers to realise that her verbal development was not hindered by her mutism. While they did figure it out in time for her to take ASL classes in school, she isn't fluent and prefers written communication.

School was also a mixed bag for her - she got good grades, but was frustrated with the lack of support, leading to occasional outbursts of violent behaviour. These became less frequent going from middle to high school once she finally made friends and discovered a passion for literature, mythology and fairytales in particular.

She started submitting her writing to magazines and competitions during high school, and has never stopped. In writing, her down-to-earth and often surprisingly forward personality comes out more than in person.

After graduating from high school, still living with her adopted family, she began drifting from odd job to odd job - she couldn't be picky with places that accommodated her mutism, but she was also looking for somewhere she could feel at ease and save up some rainy day money in preparation for breaking into the writing world. She hasn't yet found a job that fits the bill. Possible brief stints in admin jobs, cafes/restaurants/other service work, cleaning, courier work, babysitting...

Rather than initially searching for her head, she starts out searching for a place to belong in society. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

BLURB: (warning for public shooting and for manipulation and abuse)
» An only child; while her parents weren’t really warm and held her to high standards, she had a relatively happy childhood.
» Naturally has dark hair. She dyes it blue but often lets her roots grow out because she can’t be bothered.
» Went to college in California for broadcast and communications, and became a reporter shortly out of school.
» A few months into her career, there was a shooting at an event she was covering, and Bobby was shot in the leg. She was hospitalized and in both physical and psychological therapy for quite some time.
» Art was a big part of her therapy for PTSD, and she discovered it was her passion.
» Her physical therapist took advantage of her emotional fragility, and they had a year-long relationship, during which Bobby found herself verbally and physically abused, and was also emotionally abusive to her girlfriend.
» After she was able to escape that relationship, Bobby came to Recolle for a fresh start. She’s been here for a little over a year.
» Is still in psychological therapy.
» Tired all the time.
» Anti-social.
» A really good swimmer.

For those who understand the context, or have known her before, Yin will "wake up" back in the same situation she was in before more or less, but as a re-app she retains her regaining memories but no possessions. This means no swag robot arm and no dog. I don't have to tell you how Rough this is going to make her until the first set of regains come around, so I get if anyone wants to avoid her and her poor attitude and coping mechanisms for a while. Just please know she'll get better but it will take her a bit to adapt to having those important things taken away from her.

BLURB: Tifa in canon is the emotional support and rock of her various canon friends, who suffers from a lack of emotional honesty and emotional shyness herself. Is in the monk class as far as Final Fantasy goes, which means she has super strength and can punch things really hard. Moreover a lot of her canon development and growth is tied (fortunately or unfortunately) to her sometimes vaguely defined, will-they-won't-they relationship with troubled hero, Cloud Strife. Tifa was a former ecoterrorist, who feels great regret and guilt over this and a billion other things.

My Tifa AU I'd want to separate her some from her canon self and give myself a chance to develop her away from her biggest canon relationship, but on a wider scale since she literally won't remember him. I'm wanting to play her as something of an adventurous spirit (if the ideas about her occupation above weren't an indicator) who has to ease into the role of protector and nurturer rather than automatically being slotted into it bc she's a girl from a 90s jrpg.

A few bullet points:
- was a Popular Kid in elementary/high school because she's still pretty approachable and nice even in an AU
- also bc she fought bullies. her desire to help others has extended to being the Mom Friend and also the Scary Guard Dog Friend
- Tried REALLY hard to get into classical performances per her parents' wishes, but it really wasn't for her. she likes playing but it didn't resonate with her as a career
- still an excellent pianist though. plays for her parents' guests during major holidays
- her dad is disappointed in her job choices, her mom is less so but worries about her messing up her beautiful face bc then how can she get married!!
- in other words they are pretty traditional but mean well
- she sort of lets them steamroll her on occasion and smiles and nods because she loves her mom and dad
- quietly is a little resentful though. has not managed to fully stand up to them yet. she'll fight everyone!! for her friends. will she fight her parents? no.
- she owns a motorcycle. they definitely had heart attacks
- not as big of a pushover as she is in canon though. overall a little rougher around the edges which is hilarious bc she lived in the dystopian hood for years but moving on
- without all that 'i was a horrible terrorist' stuff pulling her down a lot of her guilt and feelings of inadequacy are related to sometimes feeling like she's letting her parents down. it's not nearly as bad as it was in canon tho so she’s more independent and more confident in her own decisions. her struggles are less extreme
- is still stubbornly doing her own thing though in the hopes they'll come around
- they used to set her up on dates and she's just like, 'kill me.'
- is a huge romantic gushy nerd and it's embarrassing to everyone involved

Especially if you were the type to make comments about how short she is/how young she looks. She's kind of fierce. And she absolutely wouldn't go easy on those who'd be mean to others. Elizabeth is Anna's little sister (with prior permission from celene, of course). She hasn't actually seen her sister since Anna dropped contact with her family, of course, and actually first came to Recolle specifically with the intention of searching for her. Two years of no luck had left her all but defeated in that endeavor, until a new social media app presented a potentially new jumping point for her search.

Much like Anna, Elizabeth grew up under the shadow of their parents, a guiding hand directing her towards academic and extracurricular achievement. Unlike her older sister, however, Elizabeth was given a little more freedom in her choices, something that only increased after Anna's separation from the family. After all, they wouldn't want Elizabeth to end up like Anna, and while her parents weren't sure how to repair their relationship with their eldest, they were certain to make sure that they didn't make the same mistakes.

With a well-established track record of drive to succeed and a personality that lent itself well towards obeying her parents, Elizabeth soared. She was able to drop away the extracurriculars she wasn't interested in-soccer being the only non-orchestral one she kept, as she enjoyed both the exercise and the competition-and focus heavily on her music. While some critics considered her playing to lack in emotional depth, the technical prowess she displayed led to most who heard her considering her more than capable; they assumed that that extra depth would come with time.

College, at least, was not that time. She left the state to attend a prestigious music program, and thanks to AP credits covering a fair number of her gen ed. requirements, finished the degree in three years. When she was offered an opportunity in Recolle, both to move closer to her home again and to actually live in the city proper, Elizabeth jumped at the chance. Now, she teaches cello both at the university and as a private tutor. She also performs when she gets the chance-most often in string quartets, though performing solo, in duet with piano, or as part of an orchestra is not unheard of.

Some other quick tidbits:
Unlike in the game, she's, obviously enough, human. Her hair is a pale blonde, not too far from its white canon color, and while she still has her hourglass figure, it isn't quite so exaggerated.

She still participates in a city soccer league, as well, of the semi-pro variety. It's not enough money to live on alone (nor would Elizabeth want it to be) but the extra money is nice, and she enjoys the sport very much.

That 'emotional depth' missing from her style still really isn't there, and is a large part of the reason she prefers to work in a quartet instead of solo.

Had a bad experience with her first boyfriend in high school, and hasn't really tried a relationship since then.

Goes by 'Beth' with friends and family.

Other hobbies tend towards those with a competitive aspect, ranging from video games to reading (summer reading programs are srs bsns.)

LOOKING FOR: Friends, Rivals, Friendly Rivals. Maybe somebody from her past, be it from the place she grew up a few hours out of Recolle or from college.
