AU WORKSHOP - MAY Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World Changes FAQ Game Calendar Plot Finds (ooc knowledge) • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC! FORM PLAYER'S NAME: CHARACTER'S NAME: CANON: AU NAME: If there's a name change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU AGE: Again, if there's an age change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU OCCUPATION: Feel free to list if your character is a student (elementary/middle/high school/college), if they own their own business, if they freelance, if they have a stable job, etc. BLURB: Here you should write what you have for your AU; you can list your character's hobbies, who their friends and family are, if they have any particular quirks or interesting pieces of their history, if they're from a wealthy family or if they're struggling to get by, anything you feel is relevant. LOOKING FOR: Are you looking for family members or friends or enemies for your character to be pre-planned? Or are you asking for ideas or feedback on your AU idea? Anything goes, just specify what you would like. OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: Are you torn between which character to app? Let us help! AU NAME: Roberta “Bobby” Lopez
AU AGE: 25
AU OCCUPATION: Tattoo Artist
BLURB: (warning for public shooting and for manipulation and abuse)
» An only child; while her parents weren’t really warm and held her to high standards, she had a relatively happy childhood.
» Naturally has dark hair. She dyes it blue but often lets her roots grow out because she can’t be bothered.
» Went to college in California for broadcast and communications, and became a reporter shortly out of school.
» A few months into her career, there was a shooting at an event she was covering, and Bobby was shot in the leg. She was hospitalized and in both physical and psychological therapy for quite some time.
» Art was a big part of her therapy for PTSD, and she discovered it was her passion.
» Her physical therapist took advantage of her emotional fragility, and they had a year-long relationship, during which Bobby found herself verbally and physically abused, and was also emotionally abusive to her girlfriend.
» After she was able to escape that relationship, Bobby came to Recolle for a fresh start. She’s been here for a little over a year.
» Is still in psychological therapy.
» Tired all the time.
» Anti-social.
» A really good swimmer.
LOOKING FOR:
» Friends. Bobby is slow to trust, but she’s been in Recolle for a year, so some people should have gotten past her defenses.

» This is a pretty last-minute and I’m typing this at 4 AM on hardly any sleep, so lmk if I messed anything up in terms of logistics.

Anyway, they definitely have enough in common that they need past interaction, and I want to say Bobby could've done at least one of her tattoos, maybe? I could also see them being friends, but your call!

Yin's prickly even with her friends so there's that, but she would try to be sensitive enough about any of Bobby's trauma if she knew about it. (well. as sensitive as Yin GETS.)
As for tattoo work, I'm game for that! Had a previous character in the game that did some of her work but there is a lot of ink work to choose from. A LOT.

And sure! the rose sounds like a good pick :D obviously the rest of the RWBY team's emblems aren't there in literal form, but roses are good because thorns, etc, so it's still AU appropriate for her.

john here's fairly friendly and upbeat, even if he can be a temperamental dick on occasion. BUT-- leaning more into his better of traits, we can try for friends, perhaps? orrr, if she would shop at union grocery (small organic store), then he can be that friendly and obnoxiously cheery cashier occasionally in her life.
of course, i am up for other ideas well! flexible enough that we could probably swing frienemies, too, if you'd rather
