AU WORKSHOP - MAY Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World Changes FAQ Game Calendar Plot Finds (ooc knowledge) • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC! FORM PLAYER'S NAME: CHARACTER'S NAME: CANON: AU NAME: If there's a name change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU AGE: Again, if there's an age change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU OCCUPATION: Feel free to list if your character is a student (elementary/middle/high school/college), if they own their own business, if they freelance, if they have a stable job, etc. BLURB: Here you should write what you have for your AU; you can list your character's hobbies, who their friends and family are, if they have any particular quirks or interesting pieces of their history, if they're from a wealthy family or if they're struggling to get by, anything you feel is relevant. Tifa Lockhart | FFVII (Reapp)
CHARACTER: Tifa Lockhart
CANON: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
AU NAME: Tiffany Lockhart (goes by Tifa for short)
AU AGE: 24
AU OCCUPATION: Former MMA competitor who occassionally does commercials for energy/protein drinks that sponsored her. Currently a kickboxing/aerobics instructor.
BLURB: Tifa in canon is the emotional support and rock of her various canon friends, who suffers from a lack of emotional honesty and emotional shyness herself. Is in the monk class as far as Final Fantasy goes, which means she has super strength and can punch things really hard. Moreover a lot of her canon development and growth is tied (fortunately or unfortunately) to her sometimes vaguely defined, will-they-won't-they relationship with troubled hero, Cloud Strife. Tifa was a former ecoterrorist, who feels great regret and guilt over this and a billion other things.
My Tifa AU I'd want to separate her some from her canon self and give myself a chance to develop her away from her biggest canon relationship, but on a wider scale since she literally won't remember him. I'm wanting to play her as something of an adventurous spirit (if the ideas about her occupation above weren't an indicator) who has to ease into the role of protector and nurturer rather than automatically being slotted into it bc she's a girl from a 90s jrpg.
A few bullet points:
- was a Popular Kid in elementary/high school because she's still pretty approachable and nice even in an AU
- also bc she fought bullies. her desire to help others has extended to being the Mom Friend and also the Scary Guard Dog Friend
- Tried REALLY hard to get into classical performances per her parents' wishes, but it really wasn't for her. she likes playing but it didn't resonate with her as a career
- still an excellent pianist though. plays for her parents' guests during major holidays
- her dad is disappointed in her job choices, her mom is less so but worries about her messing up her beautiful face bc then how can she get married!!
- in other words they are pretty traditional but mean well
- she sort of lets them steamroll her on occasion and smiles and nods because she loves her mom and dad
- quietly is a little resentful though. has not managed to fully stand up to them yet. she'll fight everyone!! for her friends. will she fight her parents? no.
- she owns a motorcycle. they definitely had heart attacks
- not as big of a pushover as she is in canon though. overall a little rougher around the edges which is hilarious bc she lived in the dystopian hood for years but moving on
- without all that 'i was a horrible terrorist' stuff pulling her down a lot of her guilt and feelings of inadequacy are related to sometimes feeling like she's letting her parents down. it's not nearly as bad as it was in canon tho so she’s more independent and more confident in her own decisions. her struggles are less extreme
- is still stubbornly doing her own thing though in the hopes they'll come around
- they used to set her up on dates and she's just like, 'kill me.'
- is a huge romantic gushy nerd and it's embarrassing to everyone involved
- a big fan of dolphins and sea life
- doesn't like the cold. It’s a mystery!
- does like to cook! and bake. and probably knit.
- is jacked
- huge extrovert, it's terrible. i'm joking
LOOKING FOR: anything is a cop-out answer but: anything
- exes of all stripes are welcome, including people she went on like one date with and then ghosted on
- coworkers! former and current
- fans...lmao

- buds, esp. childhood friends
- people she went to school with, including fancy fine arts school that she dropped out of

- familial relationships...i kind of imagine a tifa au having a big family.

ANYWAY, Elliot is dating your little bro, but I've kept it pretty vague on if Elliot and Tifa know each other personally. So do you have a preference for how you want them to know each other?

Probably they've at least met a couple of times, though I don't think they'd be particularly close yet? Though from what I know, Elliot's a musician, right? So they'd have common ground outside of Eren.

Having met but not close yet sounds perfect to me! And yep, Elliot is a violinist and a pianist, so they'd have things to bond over with that! Also Elliot's mom was also a pianist of some fame (not a superstar but had some following) before she passed away ~10-11 years ago (well before Eren and Elliot met), so depending on how into classical music Tifa was- she might've been familiar with her music?

Can Cloud become a lighthearted, casual, geeky, fun, platonic friend that she meets here in Recolle? A romantic relationship wouldn't even occur to him.
He would think her physical prowess is super-awesome and cool, and they could get up to silly adventurous shenanigans when they hang out, and laugh about it when things don't quite go to plan. In a hilarious twist, Cloud would instinctively take the role of her cheerful sidekick.
