Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here.

• Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM.
• For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC!

AU NAME: im thinkin of being cheeky and naming him Damian Clark but this may change if i feel too weird about it
AU AGE: Somewhere in the late 30s range
AU OCCUPATION: He co-owns a few businesses through funding them when they were just starting up, but the one he is more hands on about running is a super fancy upper class restaurant. It was his first ever business and started out very humble but has become one of those places they'll turn you down at the door just for looking shabby.
BLURB:
- Son of two scientists, has several siblings.
- His older, twin siblings were a pair of delinquents in their youth and had a tendency to pick him on when they were growing up. Just standard sibling stuff and nothing too serious, but when he grew up he became a resentful little shit.
- The rest are /waves hands. i guess one of them really loves their trucker hat
- Got a lot of his parents smarts but rather than follow in their footsteps he entered the stock market. I guess you could say he had a knack for taking other people's stuff and using it to become more ~~powerful~~ influential.
- In typical fictional backstory style, he had resounding success and made a lot of money. He used it to fund his first ever business, establishing a small restaurant that over time become fancier and fancier until it had nothing but those people who shell out thousands of dollars for food with like, gold shavings on the plate. You know that shit.
- He has very little appreciation for his staff and thinks people are paying out the ass for nothing, but he tries to keep his mouth shut because wouldn't wanna piss off all his staff by insinuating the food his chefs make aren't worth their price tag.
- Over the years he's lent money out to aspiring businesses he had a good feeling about and co-owns several businesses in the city as a result. Occasionally uses this as leverage if he needs favours from people.
- SO CELL'S STILL PRETTY MUCH AN ASSHOLE ABSOLUTELY OBSESSESED WITH PERFECTION. His outfits are all several layers all Perfectly coordinated, Perfectly accessorized. He's always clean shaven and his hair is Perfectly trimmed. He's a neat freak and if you spill something on his clothes or rumple his outfit he'll probably throw a hissy fit.
- He can be kiiiind of decent with people who have a lot of wealth or influence but he looks down on everyone else. Very condescending. Very smug.
- Acts like he's So Smart that he relishes a challenge to his intellect but in reality he's a super poor loser. If he loses at stuff he throws a hissy fit.
- When he isn't throwing hissy fits he's actually a very charming guy. Very handsome, very smooth. Also a ruthless businessman, I mean, would you fuck with someone voiced by norio wakamoto
- He pays his workers very well and you get good benefits but he runs the tightest ship imaginable. Retrospec is now excuse to call out sick from work FYI.

i'm super late to this, due to being on hiatus, so feel free to ignore me BUT

keigo here was also a transfer student from japan (currently in university himself), so if you need more former highschool classmates, i'd be down! it doesn't have to be anything super substantial, if that doesn't work for you, but i'm really open to anything. like the sky's the limit, tbh. anything from just someone whose name he might recognize (like a star pupil that everyone knows type deal, if that jives) to a friendly acquaintance, to an ex-girlfriend (laughs hollowly) or even just a regular old school-friend. keigo's own AU history denotes that he had issues making lasting friendships, so really the only caveat would be that if you are at all interested in making them friends, it likely was a surface/superficial friendship, in that keigo's fairly private. he'd likely be nothing but pleasant and sociable to her, when applicable, just nothing like sharing secrets, if that... makes sense... ANYWAY the point being that i'm wide open for interpretation; whatever would be most interesting for you is what i'm goin for. /o/

SUPER LATE HERE because i'm on hiatus, but i'mma poke you anyway!

i have keigo here who is also a transfer student from japan (currently in uni himself) so i'd definitely be down for them to have known each other at some point, if you like! i'm most interested in them perhaps knowing each other during their high school years, if you'd want? keigo himself attended private schools, so given that, maybe they could have known each other through socializing outside of school? (i would assume that roji's parents wouldn't have been able to send him to a more private school, given finances) keigo himself had fairly high marks in school, so maybe they knew each other from some kind of academic standpoint? i'm fairly open to interpretation! keigo himself is a fairly flexible character, personality-wise, so i think for someone like roji, he could have been on fairly friendly terms!

i understand if this isn't viable due to how late i am, so feel free to ignore this! /o/ but if you wanna discuss more, i'm def down!

Currently Tatsuo teaches the adult beginners class, but until a few years ago taught the youth beginners class. I have some info on the dojo here. So Edna could very well have had him as an instructor at some point! As a brown belt she would have Ogawa-sensei, who looks like a sweet grandma who can kick your ass.

LOL Tatsuo could possibly be lured into a race. He's only had his bike since September, but due to a dislocated shoulder a couple weeks later hasn't been able to ride it until recently. And then winter happened. So he's still learning how to ride it properly.

I think he'd recognize Nicolai, but maybe wasn't able to keep in touch. He can only keep track of so many punk ass kids :|

AU OCCUPATION: Writer / Volunteer at various charities

- Military brat
- Moved around a lot, partially overseas, as a kid and came to Recollé about a year ago.
- Dad military, mom housewife, both from military families
- Lived in Germany for a few years as a child
- His parents never paid much attention to him, unless he was doing something wrong, and he’s mostly been raised by neighbors, family friends, etc at the various bases he’s lived on. He considers his childhood a relatively happy one.
- Had a big fight with his parents about him not joining the military and deciding to pursue a career as a writer instead, which ultimately led to his decision to move to Recollé.
- Makes his living writing romance novels (harlequin or similar) under a couple of pseudonyms while he works on his own book.
- Likes steampunk more than he’d like to admit.
- Anger issues!!!
- Is very passionate about social issues and injustices.
- Will step in if he sees someone being mistreated, or comes across a crime in progress, even if it’s not really safe to.
- But at least these days he’ll probably try talking first instead of opening with a fist. (I did mention anger issues, didn’t I?)
- Does a lot of volunteer and charity work, especially concerning veterans
- Practices acrobatics and parkour
- Speaks German
- Not good with names. It’s not that he won’t remember them, it’s more that he has a tendency to remember them wrong and if he happens to like the one he’s come up with you may just have to resign yourself to a new nickname. If you’re lucky it’ll even make sense.
- Kind of reckless and prone to last second decisions.
- Has an open, honest and somewhat blunt personality. He’s not very good at pretending being something he isn’t.
- Kind, good with kids and animals
- Manages to be both grown up beyond his years and incredibly childish.
- Cares a lot.
- Has a very energetic and bossy Pomeranian named Kiwi
- A bit of a dork. ~~(Okay, maybe more than a bit.)~~

- Second-generation Japanese girl born in Recolle
- Has a relatively large family in the states, but is an only child. Spent a lot of time with her cousins and other extended family
- Mimi would spend a lot of her summers out in this universe's equivalent of Tokyo, with her family
- Lives in a townhouse with her family just outside of downtown
- Her mom is a part-time food blogger, which is what piqued Mimi's interest in blogging and vlogging
- Super fasionable, and loves to experiment! She probably makes some of her own clothes as well
- That girl who constantly changes her hair color/wears wigs as part of her everyday wardrobe
- Runs a small YouTube channel that she puts up makeup and fashion videos on
- Instagram addict
- She isn't the best student in school, but she gets by
- Doesn't really have a consistent plan for herself when she graduates. She tends to move from one thing to another within a very short timeframe
- Can be kind of self-focused when it comes to some things, and she tends to walk all over quiet, shy types
- Will aggressively attach herself everyone and anyone, and will throw down for her friends
- Is her friends' biggest cheerleader! You're awesome and can do anything just believe in yourself!

LOOKING FOR:
FRIENDS Either people who genuine enjoy her presence, or people who have been swept up by hurricane Mimi. THIS HAPPENS A LOT, and she has a nasty habit of barnacling herself to other people who are interesting or have similar(ly weird) tastes.

CLASSMATES She probably has a reputation by this point with her under and upperclassmen. Maybe you were in a class with her? Maybe you have a sibling who was?

FAMILY I'm leaving this relatively open, but I would love it if she comes from a relatively larger family, even if she herself is an only child. Cousins, aunts, uncles, whatever!

(un)FASHIONABLE TYPES This girl is either the most fashion forward person in the room, even if that means sometimes being a bit odd to look at. She needs people to be able to swap ideas with, or possibly to dress up.

So both of these girls are around the same age, and Rise definitely seems like the type that Mimi would attach herself to, even if she's a little more quiet at first.

Alternately, since Mimi herself is half-Japanese, these two could be cousins, which would be super adorable. Maybe she visted Rise during the summer while she was still living in Japan?

Oh no she's adorable and she makes her own clothes? Mimi would adore her! Teach her how to sew well Yachi! She can help you stick up for yourself! Or, you know, just do it for you, as she do.

Mimi is the type who probably knows everyone, and considering she's kind of not-so-lowkey shitposty about a lot of things and loves to tease... these two could be a potentially hilarious duo. They're somewhat opposites in personality, but I feel like that might be fun to play with. If nothing else, they've probably had a few classes together.

Oh no Maki Maki, we need to build up that self-esteem of yours! She and Mimi are about the same age, so classmates maybe? What might be even better is if Mimi was a fan of hers when she was younger and GASP! look this has to be fate they must be bffs.

What are your thoughts on these two being related on Dia's father's side? Probably somewhat distantly related, but still cousins who would have been raised in proximity of each other.

Also Dia needs someone to tell her to stop being so extra, because seriously girl do you sleep.

So what are your feelings on this girl having a tiny baby crush? Because he seems like the type that would give her low-key dokis, especially if he's more sociable this time around.

If nothing else, he seems like someone she would be friendly with. She's not into sports herself, but Mimi's the quintessential Popular Girl, so I wouldn't be surprised if their circles somehow overlap.

Maybe not so much a fan but someone he might collaborate with sometimes for any fashion-based videos? I could see him being the type who could help bring out more of her experimental side, and she can try to rein him in if he gets too weird.

So I have a few potential ideas here, the primary one being fellow YouTuber and collaborator. Mimi isn't really a model herself, but she's really into things like fashion and music, so I could see her being a fan of FAV, and of Nico.

The other thing I was thinking is, if you're looking for family for Nico, having the two of them being related. Mimi is half-Japanese and did a decent amount of traveling between Recolle and AU-Tokyo, so if they're related they would know each other decently well. It might also help Nico get settled by having family in Recolle.

YES PLEASE. Mimi and Eikichi CR is like a dream come true at the same time hahaha.
