AU WORKSHOP - JANUARY Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World Changes FAQ Game Calendar Plot Finds (ooc knowledge) • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC! FORM PLAYER'S NAME: CHARACTER'S NAME: CANON: AU NAME: If there's a name change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU AGE: Again, if there's an age change at all! Jack Frost | Rise of the Guardians
CHARACTER: Jack Frost
CANON: Rise of the Guardians
AU NAME: Jackson "Jack" Overland
AU AGE: 18
AU OCCUPATION: High school student/Part-timer at an ice cream shoppe
BLURB:
-Senior at Recolle HS and one of the best hockey players in school. Also known for his somewhat unusual style of play as he throws in figure skating moves in here and there when dodging and weaving and getting around the opponents.
-This is because he had a little sister who was very much into figure skating and he often spent time with her after hockey practice to help her with her skating, often learning the moves with her.
-Sadly, he lost her when he was 12 and she was 8 in a car accident. He and his father survived, but she didn't make it. Jack had stopped skating for several years after that, it wasn't until high school that his father helped convince him to try again when they moved to Recolle.
-He decided to remember in the way he knew how and that was to do the thing she'd always wanted, not that he could ever be an actual figure skater, but using the very same moved she learned.
-Jack himself is a very friendly guy and loves kids, he sometimes plays harmless pranks but all in all, he's the guy not many can dislike because he tries to make it so people are happy. It has helped him move past his own grief. Most likely would be someone who volunteers at the YMCA or something similar to it or likes helping out at city events like fairs and whatnot that would involves having fun with kids and teens.
-He's not a loner this time around since, obviously, people can see him and he likes hanging out with people.
-Although he is a bit of a secret nerd when it comes to all things myth/folklore based. He adores the stories, and if the option is given in school, he'll take the corresponding class.
-He'll most likely minor in the subject in college if hockey is still a thing once he graduates, he's unsure if he wants to play professionally or not. Otherwise, he might put the hockey stick down and focus on literature and such.
-Also, Jack will be a brunette here with heterochromia, one brown eye and one blue eye.
LOOKING FOR: Friends, mostly. Wouldn't mind a dad character actually being his dad if anyone wants to go that route. Aside from that, mostly friendly CR, although I'm not opposed to negative CR either. He needs best friends tho, pls.

but also! Minako is a coordinator at the city's volunteer organization called ReVA, which hosts tons of events and the like that you mentioned, so he could be a regular events volunteer or maybe an incoming intern that she knows!

I still haven't finished the first PalaceBut I've heard OF the Persona Jack Frost. Which would be hilarious for him to meet, yes!
I think an incoming intern would be good! Jack might lean towards not going through with being a professional hockey player, to be honest, this is just a rehash of the first time I went onto this workshop XD But he's still thinking about it and I think being a regular voluteer turned intern would help him figure out his life goals :3

that sounds great! Minako is the events coordinator so she'd be at all of the main events in some capacity, so they can definitely have seen each other and chatted
maybe he's saved her a couple of times from being swarmed by kids...

I have Rise here that's workshopping this round who's also a senior at RHS and she's lived here for a while, so maybe they know each other in passing or they're friends from school? Rise also does a lot of volunteer work herself so it's possible they've met while doing events together or they've worked together on projects if you'd like!
In addition I also have John Egbert from Homestuck actually in-game who's a first year college student, but he's been living in the city for a couple of months now and is also pretty friendly and would appreciate someone who appreciates harmless pranks.

YAAASS harmless pranksters would also be good. I am terrible at coming up with pranks though fff so having a partner in crime would be helpful. I feel like Jack would be friends with a lot of first year college students to be honest, if only because he wouldn't just be with friends his own age.

Pranking is a fine art and I can't say that John's pranks are great since he's kind of ridiculous but he also has his powers back (wind powers mostly) which helps. But also yeah I think their age overlapping isn't a huge deal, he's friendly with high school kids as well for the same reason, age isn't really that important to him. So yeah we can definitely go with pre-established for both of them and go from there!

Sorey's a student teacher for history at the high school level, so Jack could be one of his students! He'd also encourage Jack to follow history as a major or mythology/literature of some kind-- Sorey's really into those two things himself, obviously! \o/

so, long time neighbors when eren still lived with his parents??? he’d probably want to play sports with him a lot as a kid but JACK SOCCER’S SO MUCH BETTER THAN HOCKEY (he can’t skate)
but it would be cute if eren was around most of their childhood, he could be there for moral support when the accident happened! and eren will promise to play hockey with you if you teach him how to skate. and maybe player soccer. play soccer with him.

If nothing else, he seems like someone she would be friendly with. She's not into sports herself, but Mimi's the quintessential Popular Girl, so I wouldn't be surprised if their circles somehow overlap.
