AU WORKSHOP - NOVEMBER Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. If nothing else, Ava will treat him like her kid!brother even if he isn't. Most likely a suggestion from his own foster dad, but after getting the chance to spend time with him and realizing the kid had as much spunk as she did -- she took it upon herself to get serious at the idea (because her mom didn't think it was all that needed to have more kids and she still holds the wish to have a younger sibling).

Those bonding ideas work for me too! She'll very much like that. I feel having Yuu and her half-brother in Recolle become the much needed motivation behind her moving there. She lives at the dorms of the university. Maybe she visits him a lot in the weekends or looks after him whenever foster dad is out working???

Another over-achiever! Ava will respect her; even though she'll feel somewhat intimidated around her...sorry, Kaeda.

Anyway! I was thinking that maybe they're dorm-mates that became somewhat friends through Kaeda having been in the tennis club at one point in the university and/or has helped Ava improve/keep up her grades through her tutoring...? WHICH SHE BECOMES FOREVER GRATEFUL OVER because she needs help balancing her sports star/crime fighting/school life.

Adding a fan coming his way! Maybe Ava was a big fan of his during her late elementary and early middle school years because his penchant for grapple moves and improvised weapons gave her inspiration in her training with aikido.

Now. if she ever meets him or not, idk, may be a mystery or not, but it'd be kinda cool that her first meeting with him is her wanting to rescue him from a would-be robber (because she has a penchant for crime fighting), but instead witnesses him taking care of the criminal instead and she figures out by his style who he is??? Would that work for you or not?

I could just see his foster dad being like 'hey oh yeah there's some family here? I think. I think she's got a kid about your age. You should go make friends, Yuu.' while Yuu just linefaces like '....she's three years older?' and foster dad shrugs and says that isn't such a big deal. (I'm basically playing this as Guren but not because npc, if anyone wanted to app his foster dad in.)

But yes. This could be cute. Even if not directly related. I'd be down for this. And Yuu getting all indignant over having a babysitter, pfffft. Even if he wouldn't really mind so much because it's her and they end up just chatting or playing some video game together.

Ava has been practicing aikido for over a decade and has a penchant of going out at night to do some late night exercise training. Maybe they have crossed paths before with her offering him the chance to release his pent up anger against her? She could use some street bawling experience before she can ever consider the idea of becoming a vigilante in the future, so it'll be really helpful experience to have, if that is okay with you?

loooool. Wow. Foster dad is super worried over Yuu. Watch him having secretly orchestrated the entire outcome. Not that Ava will complain, but....

Sorry, Yuu, someone needs to be a responsible adult in his life other than foster dad. Someone needs to keep him out of trouble and danger. Since he is a danger magnet. Playing video games, watching movies, eating all the ice cream, or going out to do stuff. Maybe teach him some parkour? Are boys still into that? .....maybe they both need responsible adults in their life now that I think about it

I wouldn't put it past him, probably.

What is this concept of responsible adults. Even his foster dad is not really a responsible adult (I mean. Guren in canon might play at it but really......) He probably would be into the parkour though. :la once she started teaching/showing him, anyway. Probably thinks it seems pretty badass once they get past basics at least.

I'd actually prefer her to be biologically related to her parents, but if you don't mind a non-blood family relationship, her parents could've been close friends with his, they could've known each other when he was growing up and she could just treat him like a little brother and call him that anyway...she'd be the type to do it tbh.

I don't think I could ever get rid of the sewing interest, but I thought it would make an interesting AU if it was out of necessity rather than the love to make SICK THREADS at first. I could still see her being in the sewing club at school and all that when she could go and meet her biffle :D

It might be like what I was talking about up there^ where she just goes in the hallway at school and steals an unsuspecting Sakura from the hallway to model. Because even as an AU Tomoyo has to be a bit weird.

HONESTLY the anime is the best way to experience it...the further on the manga goes, the worse it gets...but Ran is still too pure for this world and deserved a better series. I'm really glad to see someone else who's watched it though!!

But yeah I'm 100% down for this. I kinda skimmed your au info post so how would things be between them on the rocky relationship scale...cause obviously her approach to her will be different depending on that

Sounds good!! I see Mary is still in high school so they could've met at her school through her at some point? And then when Ranmaru mentions her name he's like "oh shit it's you, I remember you"

But if that's too late I'm sure we could just settle on some kind of chance encounter earlier on. I tried thinking of something else but I see he kinda gave up on sports (obviously) and she wouldn't really need to meet with him for work related reasons...she's usually on the right side of the law.

he obviously has since graduated from high school but how about a former gym teacher who probably still keeps in touch?

she doubles as a school counselor so when he was younger if he ever felt unsure about wanting to be a teacher when he was being pressured otherwise, she definitely would've encouraged him to stick with what he wants to make himself happy, if you think that might work!

Ran's gonna be one of recolle high's gym teachers and in her spare time she's all about extreme sports, but she doubles as the school counselor and local mom.

Basically I can hit a ton of checks on your list of things you'd like, if you're interested.

if you'd like the school guidance counselor to put a hand to dia's shoulder sometime like "please. sleep" im here for it

but ran's also the gym teacher so if dia's swim club captain they'll be seeing each other a lot regardless of that, probably. her swim team complains dia's pushing them too hard and ran's like SHE'S ENCOURAGING YOU!! BECAUSE SHE CARES ABOUT YOUR POTENTIAL!!

I'd be fine for either option or even a blind date to friendship kind of thing. Your AU for Harry is really interesting! Alice would definitely be the kind of person to tell him to just... stop talking for two minutes, please, but if she gets the sense that he's trustworthy then it'll be easier to let him go on as long as he doesn't try to manipulate her at all (which I can't really imagine happening?). I'd love to do some tdm stuff with them to get a better feel for it but yeah, this sounds workable for sure!
