AU WORKSHOP - NOVEMBER Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World changes FAQ • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. ☾ Originally from Japan, Mizuki moved to Recolle to get a masters in archival science (like 17 years ago he's been here for awhile)
☾ Worked at the Recolle Museum after that and wow he's still there
☾ You like history right kids come to the Recolle Museum maybe everyones favorite Jiji will take you on a tour if all the other docents are busy - getting the archivist is definitely like getting the coolest docent for your tour right
☾ He can also help you look for documents in special collections!! researching at museums is super fun!! have you ever been in the backrooms at a museum because its great
☾ He has has a life outside of the museum, i swear -- but he takes things very slowly. walks around town, buys all his groceries at the farmers market, buys flowers, shops local. damn, what a guy
☾ Definitely hangs at all the "hip" japanese cultural spots
☾ Doesn't know what an uber is lord help him
☾ Super chill though please stop by and find your inner chill by hanging out with this deceptively young looking old man

I have a 25-year-old historical archivist who also needs to have a more varied social life. Can they work in the same office, or Mizuki could be his manager?

Minako works for the Recolle Volunteer Association (ReVA) which hosts a lot of Japanese cultural events and classes because there's so many animus I mean Japanese-Americans and Japanese immigrants in the city...so maybe they know of each other from that, if he would ever go to some of those?

yes absolutely!! please imagine him showing up, sitting in the back and just chillling looking serene and enjoying himself but never getting overtly actively involved

that grandpa life pace, sometimes you just wanna watch the youth enjoy their heritage

he could also maybe volunteer to help out with the japanese classes? and either 1) speak randomly really old formal japanese or 2) show up one day having regained really old formal japanese but continue on like nothing has changed. teaching people right!!!

... If we go with neighbor that means that she lives next to a Japanese nerd and a crazy German man, she is flanked by a pincer movement. What the hell.

( but no really I'd love for them to get along, they can easily have met through neighborhood things, the Farmer's Market, and honestly depending on how close they are he could be a tutor for her and/or her (now NPC) son on Japanese given he's Japanese and adopted but adopted too young to know it and he kinda wants to know it because of his interest in it )

that'd be perfect! i'd love established cr that theyve known each other for awhile. she can be one of the few people who knows hes Actual An Adult behind his pretty boy anime exterior and he probably really appreciates that she treats him like he's his actual age instead of like he's young -- so he'd defs help out with japanese and they could walk to the farmers market and stuff

So while I have Jirou I think that this guy might actually bounce off of him better. Even if I'm sure that Jirou used those museum ties a lot when he was still in uni.

Anyway Biffy is currently attending university and he has a love for some culture in his life. So maybe the museum is one of his favorite places to go at times and he certainly likes to go there for assistance with his projects/papers!

He'd definitely be willing to help out Biffy with the papers -- the museum is a great resource for that

kasen here is a local artist/patron/art trader/gallery owner/has a building at the university named after him so it's highly likely they've crossed paths. how well they know each other is up to you!

haha yes they've definitely crossed paths. he's not very concerned with the status aspect but he'd definitely know of him and have spoken with him when he's around. treat him with the same respect he gives to all people, try not to say any truly out there non sequitura, you know, the usual

WELCOME HOME GRANDPA!!!

yams is a giant history nerd, unsurprisingly, and works in the library in the kids' section, so I'm guessing they have some crossover occasionally!! even if not he's enough of a history nerd that he's definitely been to the museum plenty of times... he's also a grandpa on the inside they can bond about not understanding things together even though yams is 21 smdh

they could do like joint promotion days! bring some stuff to the library for the kids bring some kids from the library to the museum

Ichigo will probably find Jiji's presence comforting? He's away from home and his large, traditional and rather overprotective family back in Kyoto for the first time and feels quite homesick. He'll probably wander into the museum to look at their Japan collection?

That would be super cute - I'm sure the museum has lots of Japan stuff given all the Japanese immigrants to Recolle! Jiji could speak Japanese with Ichigo and they can have team and go to fun Japanese cultural events together.

He'd probably be visiting the musuem from time to time and be one of those to tell him that there is life outside of said musuem. Maybe drag him along on a shopping spree who knows
