AU WORKSHOP - NOVEMBER Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World changes FAQ • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. AU OCCUPATION: riffraff, street rat???? THE BOY IS NOMADIC AND HOMELESS
BLURB:

• born and raised in the slums of new york, ethan had it rough since his younger days and had every reason to turn out a lot worse than he did. born to a japanese mother and an american father, both had a string of domestic problems and would rather feed addictions than their own kid. a long story short, ethan's parents were two tons of neglectful and abusive and he still held onto hope for them.
• ethan never got past middle school and was forced into getting a deli job to fund his parents and their hookups. he still stuck around to try and help his mother out of it. alas, after a string of walking home to domestic violence and being lashed at by his own mom for stepping in, ethan decided to run away at the ripe age of fifteen.
• with nothing but a backpack over his shoulders, ethan began a nomadic life to leave new york and live his own life in search of purpose and people who'll believe in him to make it better. he doesn't want to be .5% of what his parents were.
• he smokes, but he's been desperately trying to kick it for years. he started young, and stupid, and influenced by parents he doesn't want to remember.
• ethan’s gone through a few years picking up jobs that no one really wants to do, like washing dishes to pay for a meal, and almost more times than not is he taken advantage of :(
• wandered into recollé just a few weeks ago, sleeping in public restrooms and picking for jobs that don’t require an education— he’s not having an easy time, though, trying to stay clear of shoplifting but it’s really getting harder the colder it gets 😩 he does it out of necessity though and probably leaves a note in kid handwriting like i’m really sorry but i’ll pay you back one day

LOOKING FOR:
• FRIENDS. the boy would desperately love to make friends. he probably just met you and he loves you.
• PEOPLE THAT BELIEVE IN HIM. it’s all ko needs to get on the right path. help him get a job!!!
• ADOPTIVE PARENT(S). this would be an amazing thing for the near future, especially someone who wants to see him well, help him get a life.
• PEOPLE THAT OWN SHOPS and might likely be a victim of his shoplifting at some point— if he doesn’t get caught, you get an im sorry letter. if he does, well, even better.
• A GIRL HE CAN CRUSH ON ENDLESSLY. would that lead to something up ahead, only the stars will tell . . .
• PEOPLE TO INTRODUCE HIM TO THE RETROSPEC NETWORK. and the retrospec everything. most of all, proper education/tutoring. given that ko will have literally no money or be in any human condition to think about having a phone or any electronic device, some help in getting there might be needed. he only has half a middle school education at most, so reading and writing has been heavily neglected in favor of survival, so— even his typing would be limited, poor guy.

If you're cool with Matt's special abilities working on Ethan, he could catch him in the act of shoplifting. Which will be confusing considering Matt is blind but nothing like the surprise of getting caught in the act right? That said Matt comes from a lower class background and would want to help him find a better path so he doesn't have to resort to stealing to survive.
