AU WORKSHOP - OCTOBER Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World changes FAQ • As per our game-wide poll, we will be holding an application round in October and in November! After that, apps will resume their bi-monthly schedule. The game calendar has now been updated with the dates for this. • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. AU OCCUPATION: law student
BLURB:
- not long after he was born, his father (a performer) died in an accident during a show, and his mother abandoned him to the foster system for Reasons Unknown™
- apollo does not know either of their names or faces, but he's not particularly upset about it, but he does become a tad uncomfortable if someone speaks about their family for a while
- he was fortunate to grow up in a few decent foster homes, but never lucky enough to stay in one for very long as he was usually too rambunctious and loud (something he never quite grows out of, even as an adult)
- constantly screams "i'm fine" when dealing with especially difficult or stressful situations to calm himself down and handle things without losing it (a habit he picked up as a child so he wouldn't get upset about always having to move)
- was never really bullied or picked on despite his upbringing and past, had excellent grades in school, but can be rather dense in social situations and sometimes comes off as a little anti-social
- not born or raised in recolle, and after shifting homes so much in his home city, he decided to move to recolle for the law program at the university
- moves to recolle as soon as he graduates high school, can be quite resourceful and independent when he really puts his mind to it and focuses, hence how he was able to apply for college and find an apartment mainly on his own
- a kind old lady who used to live near him often sends him care packages from his home city, closest thing he has to a mother
- been living in recolle for roughly 4 years now, a little more than halfway done with the intense law program he signed himself up for (as a result, he can get very stressed)
- despite said stress, he adores law and loves talking about it, always willing to offer legal advice (even if he isn't really qualified yet), and just really wants to help people
- though he is seen as independent, he happily accepts help when offered to him, but hates being treated like a charity case, ie pitied or looked down on, and he will fight anyone who tries to do that
- due to his short time living in recolle, he still isn't too familiar with a lot of the city, so he desperately wants friends to hang out with and see the sights and really become a local of the place
- the biggest anime and video game nerd

I'M STILL WORKING ON SOME OF THE DETAILS but this is the gist of what i have so far

Ooh a fellow prosecutor? Matt went into this career to help the people and right wrongs so these two have a very different mind set. Matt is also a Recolle native but he grew up in a lower class environment and ended up in the orphanage when his single father died.

I lean towards saying that they're either acquainted coworkers who are faintly aware of their differences and thus stick strictly to keeping it professional OR they don't like each other one bit. I actually have been describing Matt as having an outstanding reputation as an attorney but also earning the envy of some of his coworkers. I don't know if that would include Alexander but it's an option. (Rumor has it Assistant District Attorney Murdock will be the next District Attorney when the current one retires.)

No, but really. idk if I can think of anything to add that we hadn't already talked on via plurk at this point. Except that maybe if he does sports because Syaoran doing All The Things the same way she does, he also gets bonus cheering Sakura because she's still on the cheerleading squad here because of course she is.

Just hopefully he doesn't notice her potentially dropping her baton way more often once they realize their feelings. I mean.

Matt is a prosecutor who visits the precinct for work matters often so these two might bump into each other in the hall. Typically the detectives and higher ranking officers investigate the cases that Matt ends up prosecuting but there's a chance Junpei will have to testify in court, so they could meet that way as well.

How about an internship assisting Recolle's star ADA with criminal law cases? What are the chances they both happen to be blind? LIKE JUSTICE!

Later on they can test lick things together to figure out color pigments. It'll be awesome.

*Born in Germany to a a German mother and American father on an American military base there
*Father was very high ranking, mother was extremely beautiful and refined
*Father had an irrational temper that he took out on Alice's mother initially but when she was ten her mother found out she was pregnant again and Alice started intervening, taking the abuse onto herself to protect her mother and the baby who would be her little sister
*ADORED her little sister, this child hung the moon, Alice doted on her at every possible opportunity and promised herself she'd never let any harm come to her
*When Alice started high school she did so off the base and people started asking questions. Her father was reassigned to a base in the States; Alice went, her mother and little sister stayed behind
*Alice has not seen her mother or sister since then except via internet video and she misses them desperately
*Stayed with her father until she finished high school, starting martial arts training as soon as possible and finally getting her father to stop hitting her when she nearly broke his jaw
*Still moved out as soon as she finished high school, coming to Recolle with nothing but what she could fit in her car and enough money from him to set herself up in a studio apartment
*With a dog, absolutely has a husky or other big loud dog completely inappropriate for a studio apartment
*Never was an academic type, took a year to get on her feet, but then used her father's military history to secure some funding for school and waits tables (??? highly flexible on this) to make up the difference
*She'd always admired people who could heal others but knew she could never make it as a doctor or nurse; a paramedic position provided the sense of immediacy she wanted

LOOKING FOR: ANYTHING but especially other paramedics or EMTs or first responder types (I'm toying with having her have graduated and gotten a job already), possibly a roommate, past romance, friends, classmates, coworkers, other fighters, aaaaaaaanything

Really though. Sakura is younger so they don't quite go to the same school but she does have cr with the KH crew here already which I suppose is an in of sorts. But more than that, she knows the rough family life (though in her case it is more dead parents and not shitty marriage situation). Sakura's just too nice to intentionally worry her older brother by playing up or anything. If Marina hangs around town a lot to avoid going home though, they probably bump into one another, or maybe at Sakura's work at the cupcake bakery?

.....I would almost be tempted to offer Sakura as a little sister. Though I've said hers is more like nineteen than Eiz--er, Isaac's age. Really though I thoroughly approve of all of this omg. His Curse, man. Poor guy. Even in au he is not free of Everything Happening around him.
