AU WORKSHOP - OCTOBER Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World changes FAQ • As per our game-wide poll, we will be holding an application round in October and in November! After that, apps will resume their bi-monthly schedule. The game calendar has now been updated with the dates for this. • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC! FORM PLAYER'S NAME: CHARACTER'S NAME: CANON: AU NAME: If there's a name change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU AGE: Again, if there's an age change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU OCCUPATION: Feel free to list if your character is a student (elementary/middle/high school/college), if they own their own business, if they freelance, if they have a stable job, etc. BLURB: Here you should write what you have for your AU; you can list your character's hobbies, who their friends and family are, if they have any particular quirks or interesting pieces of their history, if they're from a wealthy family or if they're struggling to get by, anything you feel is relevant. LOOKING FOR: Are you looking for family members or friends or enemies for your character to be pre-planned? Or are you asking for ideas or feedback on your AU idea? AU OCCUPATION: Up in the air at the moment but leaning toward paramedic student
BLURB:

*Born in Germany to a a German mother and American father on an American military base there
*Father was very high ranking, mother was extremely beautiful and refined
*Father had an irrational temper that he took out on Alice's mother initially but when she was ten her mother found out she was pregnant again and Alice started intervening, taking the abuse onto herself to protect her mother and the baby who would be her little sister
*ADORED her little sister, this child hung the moon, Alice doted on her at every possible opportunity and promised herself she'd never let any harm come to her
*When Alice started high school she did so off the base and people started asking questions. Her father was reassigned to a base in the States; Alice went, her mother and little sister stayed behind
*Alice has not seen her mother or sister since then except via internet video and she misses them desperately
*Stayed with her father until she finished high school, starting martial arts training as soon as possible and finally getting her father to stop hitting her when she nearly broke his jaw
*Still moved out as soon as she finished high school, coming to Recolle with nothing but what she could fit in her car and enough money from him to set herself up in a studio apartment
*With a dog, absolutely has a husky or other big loud dog completely inappropriate for a studio apartment
*Never was an academic type, took a year to get on her feet, but then used her father's military history to secure some funding for school and waits tables (??? highly flexible on this) to make up the difference
*She'd always admired people who could heal others but knew she could never make it as a doctor or nurse; a paramedic position provided the sense of immediacy she wanted

LOOKING FOR: ANYTHING but especially other paramedics or EMTs or first responder types (I'm toying with having her have graduated and gotten a job already), possibly a roommate, past romance, friends, classmates, coworkers, other fighters, aaaaaaaanything

I almost feel bad being That Guy but I'm totally down for Kiryu to have been a past romance of Alice's! He's only a year older than her so they might also have been classmates? He was kind of a nerd back before all his regains started coming in, so she might not recognize him if she saw him now...

Alternatively he's a real estate agent so he could try and help her if she's looking for a bigger apartment for that dog!

Nothing wrong with being That Guy, I'd love something like that! If he wouldn't have minded being with a girl who could probably break his neck, she certainly wouldn't have minded being with someone smarter than her as long as he didn't treat her like she was stupid. Amicable split seem OK? Now that she's on the app, they can compare dragon tattoos... and actually, that could even be a way for them to reconnect, maybe, surprise her lease is up and she's checking out the market?

Sweet! Kiryu is all about dating (and then getting dumped by) strong women who are totally out of his league. He's super chill and respectful towards everyone, so he would have been the perfect gentlemen when they dated... he just has wandering eyes and tends to lose interest quickly so an amicable split works perfectly!

They should totally have met up again while she's on her new apartment search! You know you've got sweet taste when you have a dragon tattoo, just sayin'.

more german families with military ties!!! eren’s mom and dad are in the medical field (grannys and grandpas too), with his father’s side even more so but god they either need to be distant relatives or really good friends ;o;

They don't even need to be that distant of relatives if you want--no reason her mom and his dad couldn't have been brother and sister (since it looks like he shares a mom with Tifa, unless I'm reading wrong?). That could even be why she picked Recolle to move to, she knew she had family here? Totally fine with something more distant though if that's too close or interferes with other stuff, and even if not relatives they can definitely know each other!!
