Okay, that sounds good! Yeah, I hope Dylas punched Yato a lot, they both look like they deserve to get punched a lot.

But that sounds like fun for me! I don't want to give a short, boring reply to your long and thoughtful one, but I'm still sort of ironing out how I want his complete AU history to go, so let's see...

-He was definitely involved in fishing competitions so the hometown has to have a river or be near the ocean
-Dylas struggled in classes like chemistry, math, business, and history, but did alright in English/writing, foreign language, and biology.
-He was involved with a sports team at some point in high school. I keep leaning towards swimming or track so that there's an individual component to it as well.
-He was made fun of a lot for being tall and having a weird last name, tbh
-He definitely got sent to the principal's office a few times? Detention-goer, right here
-If he was ever caught at an out of school event, he was always with his older sister. She raised him, so she has at least eighteen years on him.

No, but I think him being the Snape to Jack's James sounds fun. HOW IN-DEPTH DO WE WANT TO GO?? I imagine in general Tony would be like "it's your fault" even if it'd been something as innocuous as a drunk driver, soooo. Up to you if you'd want Tony to have full details of what went down or just have been there after the fact to pick up the check for her tombstone and grave plot or some such. Kinda figuring this would have gone down before Tony hit his stride and started making the mega bucks, but still pulling in a respectable amount.

Which probs makes it even more of a bitch Jack's teaching and Tony's partying with hot 30somethings dolled up to be 20somethings Coping is one hell of a drug????? I say as if Tony's entire life isn't coping laughs.

I also hope they punched each other a lot?? Yato is just an average height (5'9") but especially in high school he would've been pretty... businesslike? I guess about picking fights... "We don't like each other so this is just how it's gonna be," etc. etc. I've had him down as being a strong fighter, probably on the side of methodical, but Dylas's size advantage is real lmao so he probably found fighting Dylas a pain

A river/the ocean/both sounds fab! Yato probably has a dumb nickname for Dylas that I will decide on when the time comes... And he was probably sent to detention a lot too so hi detention pal

Should I assume that Yato knows about Dylas's sister's illness? Since Yato would've been gone from town when Dylas was 19 or thereabouts

Awesome! And his show is something called 'Heckbusters' - I have a summary of it on his AU info page here but essentially it's a show about fighting demons and solving mysteries, often in a Scooby-Doo-esque way, although it's also a show that has its tone vary wildly throughout its run.

Ohhh, this sounds fun on all counts and I'm absolutely here for childhood friendship-type things; he's not a terribly open person overall, but at the same time being decent to him from a fairly young age would definitely go a long way toward him being willing to talk to her and generally spend time outside of that which is strictly necessary (...I am so sorry about him already).

...Basically despite the usual weirdness he's going to be entirely more willing to go out of his way for her than he would be most people, and he'll be decent to the best of his ability even when things kind of start sliding sideways due to regains and the like. It's also more likely that he'd actually. Discuss things with her instead of giving cordial but avoidant bullshit, just because she would have known him long enough to warrant it. The too-trusting angle is something that might prove interesting to play with as well; I like this, basically, this was a lot of words to say "I like this."

And I mean, just because he isn't at a point where he'd openly broadcast it doesn't mean that he won't agree with a lot of questionable things due to and regarding the zero-empathy front. Sometimes you just need people you can have no compassion around and that is totally okay, man, it happens.

If you were to want CR, I am more than willing and okay with working that out - I'd imagine it's the sort of thing that's, uh, probably slightly inevitable eventually, just due to the nature of the thing. So if you want something pre-existing, that's fine and I'll gladly work with you on it; if you want to just see what happens, that is also entirely cool with me, I'm flexible in that regard and down with either.
