AU WORKSHOP - APRIL Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. AU NAME: Chris Redfield
AU AGE: 36
AU OCCUPATION: Police officer, likely a beat cop in some form or other
BLURB:

• Normal upbringing until both of his parents died in a car accident when he was ~ 18 or so.
  
• Had a brief, somewhat unsuccessful career in the military. He doesn't really talk about it much.
  
• Got out, drifted for a while without any real goals in life, had a brief moment of "wtf am I doing with my life", promptly got into law enforcement.
  
• Hasn't really climbed high on the career ladder as of yet; he's comfortable right on the bottom rung at the moment.
  
• Came to Recollé for a fresh start/clean slate away from his hometown and all the baggage therein.
  
• Has a younger sister that he calls way less often that he should; he's terrible at being a big brother, seriously.
  
• Spends far too much time hanging out at the local bar when he's not on-duty, he's probably on a first-name basis with half the staff at this point.
  
• The only jokes he knows are terrible puns and he will inflict them on people without mercy.

LOOKING FOR: Coworkers! Casual friends, likely the kind who would go out for a round of drinks and/or call Chris out on being a doofus. He's normally pretty gregarious so no worries. Positive and negative CR would be awesome.

I'm pretty sure Fai here runs into the police on a regular basis, given that he's a social worker. Maybe they can keep meeting up on assignments? Also Fai is a giant dork as well and would probably laugh at all of Chris's terrible puns.

I promise he won't hit on Chris more than once or twice. Unless they go out for drinks and then all bets are off.

Okay, yes, this is good CR and I love it! Like Chris is usually relieved when it's one of Fai's cases because it's a chance to break the tension with a bad joke and not have it met with awkward silence.

He is legit the most oblivious person to being hit on, it's kind of amazing.

Hey Fai is great at keeping things light and smoothing over tension! He'll have to try to teach Chris some new jokes :)

Okay I'm revising my earlier promise, Fai is going to hit on him all the damn time because the oblivious thing is adorable

I don't know how they could meet, but lord would I love it if he told Neri puns!

Maybe he's caught her camping out at the beach a couple times in the past. So to him, she's "That Beach Kid". And probably gets :| at her about it because high tide is a thing that exists and he doesn't want to have to send in rescue if she gets swept out to sea.

And probably turns a blind eye once in a while. Hey, trust is important.

I so dig this. He could ask her if she's seen any suspicious activity on the beach, especially if related to cases he's on. Imagine. "I won't report you for your beach camping if you keep me informed." "Done deal!"

Hi! Officer Togusa and oh man I love Resident Evil. Togusa is currently a little irritatingly by-the-book, he hasn't gone off the handle much so far, but he is pairing well with people with worse tempers. So hi. How can I help?

Togusa! All the GitS people running around makes me happy.

Chris's temper, ironically enough, is going to be way dialed back in comparison to his usual self. He'll be less "CHRIS SMASH" and more "...stop that". ...Probably a little amused about Togusa being such a Boy Scout, though. Bet you anything they've worked together in the past.

It is amazing what not being attacked by zombies will do for a guy's outlook. I'm down for anything, and I'm putting together a way for other police characters to be able to get previous plot info.

Maybe Chris knew Naoto's dad? Her father was a police detective, pretty bright future when he and his wife were killed in a mugging gone wrong.

They can bond over dead parents yaaaaaay

I can sign Potemkin up as a coworker! In canon Potemkin is a soldier (a supersoldier more like it) but I think in this AU I'll go with him having never signed up. But he's going to think Chris is so cool.

Tatsuo is a CSI, so Chris will likely have seen him around. I think these two would get along well.

if he's a beat cop, he probably knows May. smalltime hood, but has been a pain in the department's ass since she was a little kid.

Ichirou similarly transferred to Recolle for his son and is also a cop, and is similarly the 'stay in the lower rungs' sort.

He would also judge for the drinking. Just a little.
