On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. - Born in Japan. Her father's Japanese and her mother's French?? American?? (SOMETHING) Her parents divorced when she was a kid! They're both married to different people now. As a kid, Makoto constantly bounced around middle and high schools due to a) her family situation and b) constantly getting in trouble at school.
- She got involved in a bad crowd in middle school. She was a gofer for a rich kids' clique until she literally couldn't handle it anymore and ended up thrashing them all, which led her to getting expelled and helped cultivate her Bad Reputation
- Accepted into a gang and grew close to the other members, since only other delinquent kids regularly approached her.
- Decided she wanted out of the gang in her senior year of high school and was beaten up. but like, it's fine. SHE'S OUT NOW... MAYBE
- Moved to Recolle to live with her uncle. Her parents are generally at their wits' end with her and hope that her uncle (who's a policeman) will do a better job looking after her.
- Makoto is still a full-time delinquent since her school attendance and grades were terrible, but she's working the odd job here and there!! She's trying to be a model citizen now though please and thank you--the fuCK DO U MEAN POOR SERVICE??? THIS AIN'T A FIVE STAR RESTAURANT JACKASS HIT THE ROAD
- She's studying for her GED though since she wants to go to university... Maybe, she's actually not sure yet.
- Basically Makoto is a Recovering Delinquent: short-tempered and angry and intimidating at first glance, but actually a soft marshmallow who wants to have lots of cute friends to hang out with and try clothes on and crushes on everyone who shows her a hint of kindness... terrible
- She's just really awkward around strangers... And she takes offense quickly... And she doesn't have much faith that people will see beyond her "angry gangster" image. But like, she tries......
- She's still an amazing cook, thanks to having to take care of herself.

LOOKING FOR:

- family?? cousins or step-siblings or step-cousins. She could have lived with/met them for like a few months, so they could be passing acquaintances. Or they could have grown really close before Makoto had to move. I'm open to both, PLEASE IT WOULD BE CUTE
- school acquaintances that have seen Makoto during her Thug days. So either people who avoided her, knew of her but didn't really approach her, approached her and confused her with kindness, bullied??? her, or was getting picked on by neighborhood bullies and was rescued by her. IT COULD GO HOWEVER U LIKE
- former gang friends. or perhaps former gang members who met in passing (or beat up in passing. gangster camaraderie)
- FRIENDS... help this aggressively Angry girl connect with her True Self... Also, give Makoto a reason to bake.
- co-workers... She'll work at any part-time job that I haven't actually figured out yet, but if your character works at a bakery or at a flower shop or a crushing food service job then Makoto can be there.
- You Look Just Like My Senpai -- give me a Reason for Makoto to crush on your character. Reasons can range from: smiled at her once to.... yeah. literally just that. it won't take much. I'm a sucker for unrequited crushes and Makoto goes through them like crazy so I'm just grabby hands for everything
- Are you an idol?? Actor?? Let Makoto be your number one fan and carry a picture of you in her wallet that she can heatedly deny if caught with
- honestly, anything. Do you want enemy cr?? Do you want Makoto to have once stolen your lunch money, I'm down.

-Instead of a princess, Lissa is coming from a lower class family.
-Mother died when she was young, father is kind of a drunk deadbeat so the family is constantly in debt.
-She and her older brother were essentially raised by their older sister.
-Her older sister had to work hard just to keep a roof over their heads.
-And once her bother was old enough, he's been doing the same.
-So now that she's old enough, Lissa wants to pitch in and help as much as she can.
-She's thinking about dropping out of school to get a job but her siblings are dead set against it.
-She's also been thinking about moving out of their house but hasn't mentioned it yet.


LOOKING FOR:
I would certainly not mind if someone wanted to play one of her siblings.
Cousins, aunts, uncles etc. are all fine too.
Definitely would be willing to tweak the backstory to accommodate.
Otherwise:
Friends from school to maybe talk her out of bad decisions
Someone to hire her even though she has no skills or experience to speak of.
Possibly a future roommate if she does decide to move out.
OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: This idea is fairly tentative, so nothing else really comes to mind.

-Her name is Elizabeth but her nickname is probably still Lissa

-Instead of a despotic ruler who started an unnecessary war that got everyone pissed off at his country, their father is a petty criminal with massive gambling debts.

-And still a drunk deadbeat.

-And of course he borrowed money from the wrong people(basically loan sharks/the mafia/whatever) and now his kids are stuck in the middle of that.

-Lissa was the youngest so she tried to help as she could, mostly by doing the household chores. Cleaning, cooking, basic sewing(enough to patch clothing) But she doesn't feel like that's enough.

-Because being at home with her dad was hardly a pleasant atmosphere, she used to put a lot of her time and effort into school.

-Not her grades. She's only a C student. But in middle school she helped out with the yearbook, school plays, dances, etc.

-Since she got into high school she's all but abandoned those things in favor of trying to figure out ways to help her family's financial situation. But dropping out of school and working full time is her 'best' idea so far.

AU NAME: Alison Sobeck
AU AGE: 20, she'll be 21 in April.
AU OCCUPATION: Going to school for environmentalist studies and...will gradually gain a more concrete interest in robotics, particularly the development of robotics to assist in environmental conservation. she wants to get a doctorate and is a huge overachiever (and a genius, lowkey) so she's likely going to be done with her bachelor's p. soon. currently works for the fish & wildlife services so spends a lot of time in recolle's national park.
BLURB: In canon, Aloy is from a post-post apocalyptic world, largely overtaken by nature, where machines are the apex predators and humans live on in primitive tribes. She was an outcast at birth, raised by a fellow outcast and surrogate father/father figure, Rost. She comes to discover that her actual lineage is a lot more complex and meaningful than she first believed, and is granted the title of Seeker by her tribe, thus allowing her to go out into the world and discover all of its secrets! And kill a lot of machines in super cool ways.

Although Aloy is from a pretty under-advanced society, she’s a fast learner, pragmatic, driven and brave. Also, for someone who was raised largely on the outskirts of her society, she’s surprisingly well-adjusted and thoughtful, thanks to Rost. An AU Aloy would first and foremost be socialized a bit more! So while she’s still blunt and to the point, she’s a little less “cut to the chase” than she is in canon, more easygoing, and some of her wanderlust is tempered by the practicality of a modern day world. She’s not especially extroverted, but has had a circle of friends throughout her life (some have rotated out and some haven’t) and is less isolated than she was in canon. Her intelligence and ingenuity I would like to gear toward a drive to making a positive change in the world, thus leading her to the field she’s studying. Aloy in canon has to grow into this role, but Alison will have been nurtured in an environment that would drive her to want to do it on her own. Part of this is because she has heard stories about her mother since she was a kid (who passed away when she was about three) and is inspired to emulate her. I’m not going to go too heavy on detail here because I’m trying not to spoil everything lmao. Her dad is actually not her birth father, he’s a family friend who adopted her at her mother’s death. Or at least that’s the story I’m going with. She was raised in Recolle but went away to school in Colorado Springs. Since she’s gone away to college, they communicate mostly via phone calls (he’s old fashioned and snail mails her sometimes too.) He’s currently having a long trip with a group of buddies across the U.S. (They’re visiting national parks), and Alison has transferred to a school in Recolle to continue her studies.

She’s really athletic in like, the hiking outdoorsy kind of way. probably white water rafts? Worked at a ranch for a spell in her senior year. Probably was kind of a smart ass all through high school, also was a bit more rebellious in general. She can and has hotwired a car (it was her dad’s car, she got in a lot of trouble.)

she was here for a time and then I dropped and now hopefully she will return!

LOOKING FOR: - ALL HER BUDS FROM LAST TIME. If you were in recolle before about November, there's a chance you know her!

- WILL HAVE EVERY INTENTION OF GETTING A JOB ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE. Just so she won't feel like she's burdening her foster father.
- Majoring in Criminal Justice. She wants to help maintain peace and all!!
- Grew up in Recolle.
- Generally kind-hearted with a strong sense of right and wrong, but that can also be a flaw of hers at times.
- Never talks much about herself but if she does talk about her personal life, it's usually about her friends or the kids she helps take care of.
- A really diligent student, usually does well but doesn't make too much time for a social life because of that....
- Can be a little socially awkward when it comes to compliments and definitely flirting. In her mind, she's really just doing what she can for the better good?

I'd absolutely throw Sakura at her. She would understand on being adopted, even if that was far more recent on her end. But Criminal Justice does seem like a good rl equivalent for her! I like it, Jude. idk maybe she knows Sakura through her older bro and helped out babysitting or something on occasion?

Mitsuru Tenma | Ensemble Stars

AU OCCUPATION: high school student / part-time employee at a Freshens' bakery section
BLURB:
-Nazuna Nito's (pronounces) little brother (out of the many kids that are in the Nito household)! He's on the older end of the range, but Nazuna has taken the reins as responsible older brother. Mitsuru is the… sorta responsible when necessary but a troublemaker middle-older brother. He loves his younger siblings and step-siblings though. Just not Nazuna outwardly.
-(He does, really really. He understands what Nazuna says with 98% accuracy if he pays attention, even with slurs and stuttering. For reasons, he's also the king of understanding pictionary and charades, especially if it's Nazuna).
-Acts out A LOT. He just has a lot of energy and can't stay still, and he was the kid you could dare or expect to do a lot of stupid stuff (like eat worms, climb up to the roof of the school) in elementary and middle school. He became friends with the principal's secretary and school administration! And the school nurses…
-He's cheerful, but has issues growing up as "that famous child actor's brother". Another reason why he gets in trouble, to separate them as "the good Nito" and the "the bad Nito". Everyone says their siblings should grow to be like Nazuna and not him, so he's doing a good job!
-He's not oblivious to realize his family was going through some hard times though, particularly Nazuna thanks to traumatic experiences in the entertainment industry. WHEREVER YOU ARE IN THIS WORLD MISTER MANAGER, Mitsuru will get stronger and kick your ass. So anyway, he tried to get better.
-Through a miracle, he got a part-time job working at bakery. Okay it's less a miracle and more he begged the head baker to teach him how to make sweets and he practiced a ton, all to make stuff like cookies and cakes for his family and maybe a girl he liked once. Thus, he got a job there because he got the training already and needed to pay back for the ingredients, supposedly (not really). He usually works on the weekends and a few days a week to get himself out of his family's hair.
-He's in his second year of high school… It's going okay? He's not failing anything? He probably wants to take up the suggestion to be tutored though. Math and history are evil. Friends are good though when he's in need of a boost, and he actually admires good upperclassmen despite wanting to be a bad boy.
-Really, really wants to be on the school's track and field team, so he practices a lot. He's not there yet because one of the coaches says he needs to make up for his "shrimpiness", how dare. He's been helping clean up and put away the equipment after school and volunteering to help at meets. Someday!
-Claims to understand rabbits. Cannot stand there's a cute pet bunny named after him by his brother, so he calls them "Zuchin" instead of "Tsuchin". Take that.

LOOKING FOR:
-Classmates! Good, bad, those who can help him in school, or others who want to dunk him in a trashcan. He can be a trustworthy friend. Reliable too! Just with a reminder. Sports friends are also appreciated.
-Coworkers or frequent shoppers at the grocery store! He might do some odd tasks around Freshens, he can definitely get distracted enough to say hi and forget what he's doing (the opposite where he bumps into someone while doing his job is possible too). Or frequent buyers of his cookies, they're delicious.
-People who know his brother, but he'll make a pouty face if that's all they know him for because sure he has some Nito Family charm…! Somewhere. He's charming right? RIGHT?
-If he had gotten into some sort of trouble with you character in the past, I'd be down with that!

BLURB:

-Bastard son of a military officer, who probably abused him. His mom is either unknown or left them long ago. Either way, he grew up in a very strict household and probably didn't go out a lot.
-Was a good student that didn't cause problems, but he was often a loner. There was some bullying maybe, but eventually people just left him alone.
-He tried really hard to be a soldier to please his father still, but couldn't pass the tests and thus couldn't join the army. This further disappointed him.
-Luckily, he was really smart and got scholarships to a university and ended up getting a degree or two. MAYBE A COUPLE OF PHDS? He basically scored top honors.
-His father was still Not Impressed, but at this point he didn't care and just decided to become a professor because obviously everyone should learn from him. Also to just say 'screw you' to his father.
-He's the statistics professor or some science professor from Hell. Probably enjoys flunking students and seeing students cry or come in sleep deprived.
-At the very least, he does have open office hours to help with work. Mostly because he's required to.
-He's a miserable guy but somehow this is still better than how he is in canon.
-Still, who let this guy be in charge of a group of students??

LOOKING FOR:
-Current students that he teaches! HE'S PROBABLY THE PROFESSOR EVERYONE HATES because he gives so much homework, especially over the weekends. Study groups form because his tests are that bad. GOOD LUCK...
-Former students that probably want to murder him punch him, because they remember the horror... or maybe they liked him?? He's probably someone you learned a lot from at least.

AU BACKSTORY

★ Was born in the US by an upper middle class couple.
★ At a very young age, her parents had her go through an array of hobbies and other activities until she found one that she felt comfortable in -- it turn out to be tennis.
★ Ava had a gift for tennis due to her natural talent in her hand-eye coordination, lack of fear of getting hit, and observation skills; however she lacked balance.
★ To make up for lack of balance, she was registered to take aikido classes a year later.
★ Once she began middle school, Ava began to participate in countless tennis and aikido tournaments.
★ Ava did the best in tennis to which she began to gain classifications and high rankings.
★ Due to her parent's work and wish for her to better improve in the sports she was actively participating in, Ava had to move a couple of times across the US: Texas, California, Florida, and Georgia to name a few.
★ Once she began high school, Ava felt burn out in her training and practice regimen that it began to reflect in all aspects of her life: her grades at school and sports rankings in major tournaments began to drop.
★ Discouraged by her lack of improvement in reaching the necessary titles to play internationally or being chosen to participate for the Olympics, she decided to live a normal life for high school, doing whatever she wanted and participating in whatever sport for enjoyment, that's when she moved to Recolle with her family.
★ Ava joined the tennis teams at Recolle High School with the requirement that she could arrive for practice whenever she wanted to in exchange of representing the team for major tournaments.
★ Ava had decided to dedicate most of her energy on aikido to help maintain her figure and skills in the mean time.
★ Whenever it became active season for tournaments, Ava would always score high for the school while occasionally winning them awards: top fifteen for junior tennis in a national level while gaining the champion title for Recolle in local tournaments.
★ Due to her impressive skills in tennis, she gained a full scholarship for Recolle University as long as she joins the tennis club as an official member.
★ Her official major of study at the university is business, to become a consultant, just like her mother.

AU HOBBIES/FUN FACTS

★ In Texas she was introduced to parkour from a couple of friends from middle school, who began to secretly teach her which helped awaken her rebellious streak of sneaking out of her house whenever she wanted and needed.
★ Throughout high school, she occasionally would sneak out of her house to explore the city, meditate, or do whatever she wanted at the time.
★ While in college, she no longer sneaks out, but does attempt to disguise herself.
★ Ava is naturally tone deaf and has little interest in singing or even listening to music.
★ Other than parkour or going out on her own, running helps her relax whenever she is feeling overly anxious or stressed out.
★ She is very superstitious, doesn't believe in luck, and is afraid of anything related to occultism or "true" magic.

- Born to parents both with careers in medicine. Was an only child as his parents felt their lives were too chaotic for more children.
Moved a few times when younger so didn’t make many friends at an early age. Family eventually settled in Recolle partly to be near his uncle’s family.
- Wasn’t pressured so much in grade school so experienced a period of rapidly gaining new interests that generally only lasted until high school.
- Was often looked after by his older cousin while his parents were busy. Found he liked baking and, by extension, working with his hands. He had a knack for dexterous tasks.
- Has went fishing with his father on occasion and found he likes it immensely, though this is largely due to how peaceful and serene it usually is. Otherwise, hasn’t bonded much with his father at all. Sometimes he’ll have long conversations with his mom about his life and his feelings, but she does little more than offer an ear.
- Began to work hard and study often in high school when he started to be pressured into planning out his future as following his parent’s footsteps to eventually get a doctorate of medicine. Doesn’t usually have time for socializing.
- Started classes in Krav Maga for self-defense when he and a friend were mugged in their first year of high school. Feels a great deal of guilt for it to this day and it motivates him to want to help others, even if he comes off as nosey. Has a blue belt but hasn’t been able to progress further thanks to the difficulty and other priorities.
- After dating his best friend and going through an awkward break-up, he’s ultimately unsure what he wants. He’s confused and would rather just not date anyone for the time being.
- Graduated high school with honors and was set for college, but was unsure if he even wants to do what his parents expect of him. He’s ultimately too indecisive to figure out a different path in life for himself and so the furthest he’s considered is dialing back on a number of years he plans to study for.
- As a compromise, he decided to take a year of Pre-Health, satisfying his parents' wishes but essentially buying himself more time.
- He fell out of touch with his friend group over the past year, due in part to personal commitments on his end and radical changes in the lives of his friends. As a result, Jude doesn't have a booming social life (not that he really had one to begin with).
- Just sort of passive and easygoing, but sometimes opinionated. He enjoys the company of others even if he doesn't really have time to spend on maintaining a lot of friendships.
LOOKING FOR: Friends from middle/high school, mentors/friends from college, fellow Krav Maga students. Anything, really. Any friends he does have are probably not going to be on the closest terms with him, but it wouldn't be too distant a relationship at least.
