AU WORKSHOP - SEPTEMBER Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World Changes FAQ Game Calendar Plot Finds (ooc knowledge) • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. CANON:Violet Evergarden (light novel)
AU NAME: Ione (Wren, would be her last name if there aren't any takers to adopt her).
AU AGE: 18-20
AU OCCUPATION: Storybook author and artist.
BLURB:
☙ Is European descendant (haven’t decided on a nationality yet).
☙ She was abandoned to Recolle hospital when she was only an infant.
☙ It was found out at the hospital that she had chronic lung disease due to an undeveloped lung.
☙ It is suspected she was the daughter of a cult member and the head of the organization because the body of a young woman was found around the same time she was dropped off at the hospital.
☙ She spent all of her childhood at the hospital and is very well known for having pictures taken of her for to use for charities (taken and used without her consent).
☙ The pictures and her current health gain the attention of many adoption candidates, but many had to drop due to not having the necessary funds to raise her because of her fragile health.
☙ She was placed in the foster care system and has gone through multiple families.
☙ Each foster family offered her a different hobby to explore, but in the end she ended up choosing photography, art, and astronomy.
☙ She tires very easily and is usually found on a wheelchair (only used on long trips outside) or walking around short distances with a carry-on oxygen purse and umbrella (whenever outside).
☙ She ended up being adopted to one of Recolle’s political-centric families (big maybe).
☙ She now lives in a quaint house with a nurse and few other workers outside of town (or in a countryside).
☙ A doctor visits her on a weekly basis.
☙ She does children's storybooks for a living and offers most of the profit to charity.
☙ She enjoys using a typewriter or paper and pencil more than actual technology.
☙ Currently in the process of creating a foundation to help less fortunate children be able to live at the hospital without their families having to pay for it.
☙ Enjoys collecting accessories and stuff animals, and her dream is to someday travel the world (without triggering her illness).
☙ Outside of her home, she can be found at the library or Recolle children’s hospital, where she reads to the kids or read books or find inspiration for her stories.
☙ Basically she is a polite young lady that is very conservative, loves children, and is very naive and overly sheltered. She only knows about the world from books and observing the hospital. She enjoys people-watching in quiet areas; doesn't like loud places or overly crowded areas. Oh, and has a difficult time understanding jokes or any form of idioms. She can be quite shy and slightly awkward, but it is mainly feeling overly conscious about her health because she doesn’t like to be seen as pitiful to others.

I debated having Lucille go the literature route. If Violet writes children's books and is an active volunteer in the community, she would likely either know her works (probably read them a lot to any younger siblings she had), or their paths may have crossed at some event. Regardless, Lucille would be totally charmed by her.
I also love the potential idea of pen pals but I'm not sure how to make that work easily.

I am all for having them meet in a event. I read Lucille's top level, and I can see them meeting in community improvement events. Ione may be fragile, but she is very proactive in those areas and may attempt to go overboard because quiet enthusiasm!!!
Right now, I'm thinking they could've started out writing to each other through letters, maybe Lucille's school had a project to write to kids in children's hospitals and ended up clicking and continue on writing to each other -- be it through email or chatrooms or text messages. I'm pretty much open to these ideas!

lies she has by every nurse everThat sounds like a fun idea! I'm also open to the idea of Ione helping her in research whenever Lucille needs it for school or whatnot. She lives in the library (not literally but) and I can see her having the talent to find the most impossible of information. How she does it? "A fairy helped" will always be her go to response.

i like to think due to living at the hospital she had a lot of time on her hands, so she would write and draw a lot and hospitals have a lot of forms of inspiration to write about, so a lot of her writing come off as pretentious but have a lot of humane qualities to it and that is what kanada saw and helped her master in showcasing in all forms of art that she partakes in. so. yes. he is a good mentor! if she were japanese, he be her senpai or sensei.

The only connections I can think of between them, is Al's tendency to people watch/day dream, or possibly his "robin hood rule" in regards to his stealing.
Someone could have stolen her purse when she was in the park people watching and Al stole it back for her?
Or maybe Al was strolling and randomly sits beside her to daydream/people watch, and it sort of becomes semi-routine that they would sit beside each other?

Okay. All I am thinking is: Al should become the inspiration of her next storybook. That was all I thought of as I read through your post.
But on to actual planning (although I am serious of the earlier idea now), it could be cute to have them notice each other in the park, but never get the chance to actually talk than the occasional distant meeting until someone attempts to steal her stuff. I do admit she would be an easy target and with her habit of going to the park on a daily basis people would notice. So I am all for having him rescue her and they become park buddies. She could always use someone to encourage her imagination on giving everyone a backstory during her people watching sessions (most likely she gets inspiration by doing so too).

Yeah that could work! Smiles, waves, the occasional hello, he tries to change his route to see her a little more often before rescuing her stuff. I can imagine he might joke/tease that he is her body guard or purse saver or something like that afterward.
I think Al could help(somewhat), his daydreaming/people watching is usually to just escape reality. But I'm sure that can be molded into something creative(please do. I have been dying for some excuse to make him poetic)

While he teases or jokes about it, watch her literally tell everyone that she now has a bodyguard that is witty as a fox and skilled as a cat because he appears out of nowhere! I swear she'll tell every robber those final words and there comes Al! Didn't she warn you guys she was armed with a fox/cat hybrid bodyguard!
I am all for having Ione encouraging the idea of her friends using their talents for profit! PROFIT! She'll help his poetry make him money. Just as her sensei helped her!

for ishikawa, i am open to having them being pen pals, I like to think they may have met at the park when they were kids or maybe at the hospital's garden. maybe he had a relative that got sick or he had a childhood operation and they crossed paths. i am very open to how they became pen pals before he returns to japan.
oh, but if you like, seeing as he knows how to cook and enjoys it, maybe ione is paying him to cook for her which has the option of him living with her too if he likes!
as for sun jing, if you end up apping her, I'm thinking they may have met in a park on her days playing basketball because ione wanted to take her pictures for reference in future book idea. maybe they cross paths at the park and talk every time because ione is always doing something new like people watching, painting/sketching, reading/writing, or taking photos of stuff.

oh nooooo that's such a cute option??? tbh he's really only into baking, but not enough to like. be hired for it, i don't think laksjal but oh gosh that could be a cute thing that eventually happens? like not something that starts off the bat but ahh eventually... i really like the hospital or childhood friends idea though! that's really cute. he can bake her little treat, eheh.

i am okay with whichever way you wanna take it! ione would do it just to help him out because he is her friend and he gave her free snacks when the doctors were all HEALTH HEALTH HEALTH DON'T GET FAT YOU!
ione would appreciate the company and questions. she is awkward, but ain't shy because of people, so expect her to be a quiet ball of enthusiasm and somehow get sun jing to join her on her shenanigans. i mean, who would suspect a sickly girl and tomboy duo cause any trouble?

i was actually searching for an adopted sister for eren, and if you’re interested, it could fit in with your history fairly well? the bg i wrote for eren is: he comes from a family of german-american, filthy rich health workers (grandmom + grandad = doctors/surgeons, dad = surgeon, mom = nurse, eren = emt). dad was murdered in a mugging incident when eren was 13, what left him and the sister slot with an inheretence they’d have access to after 18 years of age.
eren’s twenty now and he’s juggling work with studies, but...... only because he wants to because it’s so much money they were given they could legit live off of bank interest if they wanted to. right now the family just consists of mom, eren, and the sister slot, but i’ve been writing and mentioning momma jaeger as a very sweet hen that would’ve probably latched onto violet and taken care of her at the hospital as a wee before legally adopting.
so there’s that, in which we can hammer out further details if you’re interested, or, if you’d rather more simple cr, eren’s working as a patient tech part time!! so he’d probably be seeing her around the hospital/know her from there.

Gilbert and Hodgins would be so damn happy if they existedIt'll definitely be helpful to have a healthy support system when her very dark regains come into play (like the loss of her hands in which they literally fall off).So yes I am very open to this idea and will definitely be using it! Ione is going to love her family immensely because you are all good peeps! I'm thinking Momma Jaeger stopped the charities from stealing Ione's image without permission and just began the paperwork to adopt her asap. I'm scratching out the foster care and thwarted adoption attempts while giving her the family surname. Wren could just be her middle name.
What kind of relationship would she have with her brother? And yeah, what other details should I know to add to her AU history about the family?
