AU WORKSHOP - SEPTEMBER Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. AU OCCUPATION: senior high school student, part-time gym instructor at game on!, a children’s gym
BLURB: sun jing is from a chinese slice-of-life webcomic that centers around sun jing, her crush qui tong, and her friend qi fang and their daily lives as students and falling in love and all that good stuff. Here’s a rough outline of what i have planned for her:

• both parents lived in qingdao where sun jing was born, but their actual ethnicities and professions are up for negotiation! as of right now i have the mother as a newspaper editor and the father as a software developer. they eventually move to recolle when sun jing is 5 due to work
• sun jing is fluent in english, can understand mandarin but her speaking of it is broken
• a tom boy and an out wlw
• popular with girls and fits in well with guys, but her friendliness pretty much makes her everyone's friend
• struggles with the idea of change and often has anxiety about the next year where she will have to make big decisions about her future
• so she kind of doubles down and clings to all that she has now, even if it means reacting childishly to things
• she's a senior high school student! who has no idea what to do with her life! her grades are fair and she's good at sports, but has no real passion for it (at least not to the point of pursuing anything — she dithers)
• she works part-time at a children's gym tentatively called game on!
• kind of just goes through the motions with life and trying to simultaneously avoid thinking/talking about her future and dissuading her own friends from doing the same

LOOKING FOR:

• if not that then a cute girl to crush on pls & ty
• family members! a mom, dad, siblings of all ages; i’m especially enamored with the idea of sun jing having a sibling or two with a considerable age gap between them

• a bestie to have all sorts of shenanigans with, preferably one she’s known for a while now
• people to play basketball with on the weekends or smth
• an older mentor figure to take her under their wing as she struggles with having to make Big Life Adult Decisions over the next year

okay i'm on the completely wrong journal but i really needed to comment right now rather than later because holy shit!! sun jing!! i'm so glad that someone rps from their story

anyway, i would be more than willing to throw an older mentor figure for her! one of my characters here is raidou kuzunoha xiv (au name: jouhei kurosawa) from the devil summoner series. he's 23~24, works as a veterinary assistant, and will be soon done veterinary school so while he's not super old, he's got some experience under his belt. he's also the guardian of his cousin who's a little younger than sun jing so he also has experience handling little disasters.

if you're not cool with that, maybe sun jing and jouhei could have met via playing basketball on the weekends at some community centre? i'm open to anything since i just would love some cr with sun jing, laughs

both of those options actually sound great to me? maybe they met through playing basketball (did she whup his butt, tell me she whupped his butt) and they've since then had a sort of friendly/familial relationship? sun jing's pretty friendly and familiar right off the bat, so maybe they have a cute friendship of her hassling him (calling him old man and such~) and him asking her about her five year plan any time she gets too annoying?

jouhei has been in recolle for four~five years now so i'm cool with making their potential cr go back however long you prefer, whether they've known each other for a while or if it's something more recent! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

i'm workshopping rapunzel here (i have no fuckin clue what her first name will be. MAYBE JUST RAPUNZEL. MAYBE HER PARENTS DID THAT) who has so far a twin sister and some cousins! she's going to be 18 and just starting college, but they could maybe? be coworkers or something to get to know one another? i think they'd be cute friends, and i don't mind crush stuff either (iirc blonde sunshine children are her type anyway)

Akira is an incoming sophomore in college so I have no idea how this will work out but I have a proposal!! So in the past year, Akira tried to set up his friend (Haru Okumura who has dropped) on some blind dates with a bunch of cute girls he thinks would be a fit for her... or just cute girls. Maybe sun jing can be one of them but it didn’t work out?? But he kept in touch

And may help wingman for her if she needs

I just want them to interact and would be perfectly fine with not having anything preestablished! just throwing some ideas since... it is a workshop

(probably) maaaaybe akira knew of her through a mutual friend who-is-presently-undetermined? sun jing is a very friendly/familiar person naturally so even if things were awkward with haru, if akira still wanted to keep in touch/be friendly, she would still hang out with him and such!

haru had an unrealized crush with Li-na!!! plain and simple, but I don’t think the date would have gone south, soooo it all sounds perfect! It’ll explain why he reached out to her for this blind date with his friend. I’m ready to take responsibility for Akira being involved and in the know of her tragic love life. Just text him at ungodly hours about whether small gestures mean anything or not.

it's Yuyang from a Chinese comic called Here U Are! it's a sol love story and the guy is a menace of a 19yo uncloseted gay. i'm planning to probably age him up to 20-21 though either graduating college in spring or in the adult world already.

Xiaolang just started high school this month, so he would be her junior...! He'd probably be super relieved to see someone else on the app who is Chinese who isn't also related to him (probably) (they probably don't even speak the same Chinese dialect either, RIP to them both) His Uncle on his mother's side of the family owns a huge technology company in Hong Kong (and his family in general specializes in a lot of science/technology stuff) so maybe her father used to work for them?? Still works for them?? Collaborates, maybe???

I meant to pop my head in sooner but RL getting in the way. I read a bit of Their Story and Sun Jing is great. I have two possibilities here. First is the character I'm apping, Rei Hino. She's in her 20s, working at the Japanese embassy and tends to try and help out younger immigrants, if you're making Sun Jing one.

Rei's also sorta (very) rich too so maybe she's done things to help out the gym like providing shoes and stuff to struggling players.

Another alternative is Kara (Zor El) Ellis, who I've got in the game currently. She's a former bad girl (in a bike gang) who's basically done a 180 and is now owning a legit business or something. She's 22 as well, and could maybe be a neighbor/possible past crush? If Sun went through a "likes troublemakers" anyway.

so sun jing is an immigrant, though she'd moved here when she was five and doesn't really know much of her home country and such, so i'm not sure how much we can play with that... but they can definitely have known each other through the gym!!

A PAST CRUSH WITH KARA IS COULD THOUGH, i can definitely see that happening! c: esp since sun jing knew she liked girls from a pretty early age, and kara would have been that older, bolder kind of girl that would get her attention.
