AU WORKSHOP - MARCH Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. She's probably too serious about her studies for her own good, but would love to talk to people about her heritage, geek out, among other things so it's definitely wide open what kind of relationship they could have, especially since she's plenty friendly to everyone!

BLURB:

★ Born and raised in the middle of nowhere, Brooke has two brothers and always got along better with boys. Her childhood friends were all fond of roughhousing and daring each other to do stupid things and Brooke fit right in.
★ While she never picked fights or made trouble, her friends would often drag her into their antics and they'd all get in trouble. Brooke never minded though, in fact she looked forward to the thrill of it.
★ She's sort of an adrenaline junkie and really enjoys things like parkour. She took an interest in acrobats and track all throughout high school and college.
★ Much of Brooke's early childhood was spent hiding from her parents whenever they started fighting; Brooke got very good at learning to stay quiet and out of the way.
★ Brooke did pretty well in school, at least until her family moved away to Recollé. She withdrew and focused her attention on her studies instead of making new friends.
★ She got into Recollé University and thoroughly enjoyed it. She branched out more and made more friends, actually putting in the effort this time. She majored in business and one day hopes to run her own bar.
★ After college, Brooke didn't really know what to do with herself. She was used to having a rigid schedule and suddenly all her plans were open. She eventually settled on a bartending job and has been there since.
★ She says she's saving up money to open up her own bar, but who knows if she'll ever actually do it. She's actually really content with where she is in life right now.
★ She's also really into photography, though it's just a hobby for her.
★ Brooke hates her natural hair color, so her hair is always dyed some crazy color. It's currently hot pink!

LOOKING FOR:

I'm really flexible in my plans for Brooke, so if there's something specific you want to do that conflicts with anything I've laid out here, hit me up anyway!

★ Family: In the backstory I've laid out, Brooke has an older brother and a younger brother, and probably plenty of cousins. Alternatively, I could fit her into someone else's family and change some things around in her backstory!
★ Friends: Brooke had some guy friends in elementary/middle school that could be fun to play around with, and she made more friends during college at Recollé University! Casual acquaintances are fine too!
★ Coworkers/boss: I'm open for suggestions here, since Brooke could be doing just about anything right now! She's currently a bartender though and would be pretty good at it.
★ Suggestions? I'm open to pretty much anything here!

AU OCCUPATION: Student (I'm trying to remember if 18 is around high school senior or college freshman and failing dramatically)
BLURB:

• Born to a single mom living mostly paycheck-to-paycheck
  
• Her mom named her Stella because "you're the brightest star in my life" because I have a thing for arc words?
  
• LOVES HER MOMMA SO MUCH and is really close to her let me tell you
  
• Very obviously poor growing up - lots of hand-me-downs/school provided lunches/etc.
  
• I mean she's Estelle so she still takes everything in pretty good humor and is pretty optimistic/hopeful for the future.
  
• And also really empathetic to people in rough situations because boy howdy.
  
• Still a massive bookworm because hey, library is free entertainment.
  
• On that note, is pretty book smart too, for the same reasons.
  
• Absolutely had a fanfic/fictionpress phase. May still be in the former. She also absolutely wanted to be the next Christopher Paolini/Flavia Bijour/teenage author when she was 13.
  
• Wants to go to college for a Creative Writing degree. Is planning to do so through copious use of scholarships and financial aid. (if she is in college then she is a creative writing major and there on scholarships)
  
• Either way the good grade panic is real
  
• I think she probably had trouble finding her niche friend-wise until she hit high school.
  
• There were probably a few teachers who really saw her potential despite her background and how much she loved learning and were really influential for her.
  
• Everything's a lot more solid this time around but if you have any other ideas lemme know!

LOOKING FOR:

• Friends! She's probably had them all throughout her school days although had much better luck/closer friends once she hit high school
  
• Not so Friends.... like I said she's been... obviously poor throughout her life so if there's anybody who thinks their character mighta lowkey bullied her/given her grief for that, or for being a bookworm/teacher's pet material
  
• Family, maybe? Specifically of the extended variety, her mom barely had enough money for one kid, let alone more. She barely knows anything about her dad's side either.
  
• If there's anybody who does a lot of volunteering/social type work, she's and her mom have probably been visiting the food bank/goodwill store a few times throughout her life!
  
• Teachers! They've been a pretty big influence/inspiration in her life and she probably asked lots of questions! Because she likes to learn things!
  
• Somebody who really encouraged her creative writing habits! This could also be any of the above.
  
• FANFIC/FICTIONPRESS BUDDIES....... People who she met over the internet through her writings there. She was probably a Super! Enthusiastic! About! Their! Fics!

BLURB: Okay so I'm kind of recycling/cannibalizing an AU that I put together for another game years ago (obligatory shoutout to former ste people), which means I already have a full thing written but I'm waffling on whether or not I want to keep it the same or change it up a bit. So that's why I'm on the workshop! Here's the cliffnotes version:
- a grandma's boy (his mother died young and his grandpa is also dead)
- due to this he's fairly traumatized by death (in contrast from canon where he's forced to deal with it on a very regular basis) but internalizes it
- didn't have a lot of friends growing up due to his standoffish nature; continues to not have a lot of friends for the same reason
- played soccer at his grandparents' insistence because he needed to get out more, much to his displeasure (he hates working in teams)
- turns out he was really good at it, making him popular with his teammates despite his personality
- continued to play until he broke his ankle
- isolating himself at home following his injury, he got more familiar with his computer and a game that is definitely not world of warcraft
- after investing a stupid amount of time playing, he consistently tops the damage charts
- took a year off after high school to work a shitty mall job and decide what he wanted to do with his life
- settled on computer science; currently in his last year of school
- currently living alone in a tiny (but impossibly clean) apartment with an irritable cat
- has really bad motion sickness

AU OCCUPATION: Super senior in college, trying hard to put off graduating because life sucks enough already before trying to go out and finding a career
BLURB:
-He is an extremely average person. So aggressively average he's easy to look over. If he manages to even be invited to a party he would become one with a corner, that is the type of person he is.
-He is in college for a Communications major, but part of him wants to switch to Criminology, but that sort of career seems like so much work, plus he's changed his major like 4 times already.
-He's switched his major so many times due to a mix of not knowing what he wants to do and putting off graduating because he just doesn't know what he wants to do.
-He lives off-campus in a shitty small apartment.
-He loves cats, he owns 2 cats, they are his babies. It will sure suck when there's a regain that makes cats/animals hate him. UvU
-He's a bit of a nerd, liking comics a lot, especially super hero comics. However, he's mostly enamored with and knowledgable in obscure, and often dumb, super hero comics. Anything mainstream doesn't seem to interest him. But he can be seen in comic book stores browsing around anyway.
-He likes other sorts of comics and manga, too, especially poorly drawn gag comics.
-In canon he is bald and it pains him, in game he will have a nice head of hair. It will be painful when he loses it all.
-Works part time at a convinience store where he looks like a zombie--but that's not to unusual in general.
-His work doesn't pay well, so he is super cheap. Can be seen often at sales of all sorts and thrift stores where he buys terrible shirts
-Though he is super introverted and doesn't pay attention much to anyone else, he has a sense of morals and will help anyone he sees in trouble, from bullying to almost getting hit by a car. He isn't that successful if he gets into a fight: he's also of very average build. (for now, in canon he is the literal definition of Over Powered and can beat anything in one punch, but it's actually stupid and depressing to be so strong. it will be fun to play him slowly getting stronger and enjoying life then DESTROYING IT WITH ONE OVER POWERED REGAIN)

-College mates, but feel free to have your character 100% not know him and when see him be all "why does he look so familiar, oh, is he--no, wait, that's Bill, not him. Huh."
-Co-worker to hate every thing at the convinience store?
-Someone to help him realize he should probably exercise and learn to punch a little bit if he's going to accidentally get into fights.

THEY PROBABLY WERE... while also plotting the demise of their other group-members leeching off their work smh. I can't believe Minako is going to go from Hibari's enemy for trying to talk to him in class, then #1 enemy for ending up in a group project with her, until he is willing to grudgingly tolerate her presence!

I'm glad because I was already pretty excited about finally having good timing but this has hyped me up, now I really have to finish the last sections of his app o7
