AU WORKSHOP - OCTOBER
Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here.

• As per our game-wide poll, we will be holding an application round in October and in November! After that, apps will resume their bi-monthly schedule. The game calendar has now been updated with the dates for this.
• Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM.
• For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC!

AU OCCUPATION: Feel free to list if your character is a student (elementary/middle/high school/college), if they own their own business, if they freelance, if they have a stable job, etc.
BLURB: Here you should write what you have for your AU; you can list your character's hobbies, who their friends and family are, if they have any particular quirks or interesting pieces of their history, if they're from a wealthy family or if they're struggling to get by, anything you feel is relevant.
LOOKING FOR: Are you looking for family members or friends or enemies for your character to be pre-planned? Or are you asking for ideas or feedback on your AU idea? Anything goes, just specify what you would like.
OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: Are you torn between which character to app? Let us help! Post your ideas in a comment and let fellow players offer feedback and CR ideas. You can also use this section to ask for canonmates you would like to see in-game whether it be in your specific AU or for different CR.

YOOO so Rosalind is the resident science professor/genius/super into science shit, I can't emphasize that enough, over at the university. She's also got that lovely "hey, genius children who were raised by distant parents" thing going on, so def they should have some cr going. Maybe he writes to her or something? Dear Dr. Lutece I read your book and i think maybe you're wrong in the third chapter, let's discuss.

It's possible she may have heard of his family's company? I'm still not 100% sure what it is as of yet, but maybe they're engineers for science equipment or something? They definitely have their funds in a lot of projects, though! Also he might have found her books in his parents' library at some point and read it out of curiosity, and learning that she teaches at Recolle probably was the thing that convinced him to agree to the move in the first place!

But man, yeah, he probably would be the type to write those kinds of letters, and probably KEEPS doing it so she can consider him for a future advanced program or something? ~~He probably lowkey fanboys over her too, sobs~~

i'm ngl i have a bias b/c there's a bit in ros' canon where a kid writes her letters about her books and i would adore getting to recreate that. and oh my god . . . yes come move here b/c of her, FEED HER EGO.

but god yes she'd absolutely mark him down as "hey watch him he'll likely be in the science world soon". And she def can have heard of his family's company!

and while I'm taking most of my stuff from the manga canon for Xiaolang, there is a part in the anime where he gets super excited to meet Sakura's dad because he's an archaeologist, and having someone similar in Rec (who's older + wiser) to look up to will be really sweet! Although if he ever meets her at the campus library/some science meet, he'll probably be hella flustered and unable to keep his voice down so he'd just be like

DR. LUTECE I'M REALLY FOND OF YOUR ESSAYS ESPECIALLY THE ONES ON ADVANCED PSYCHICS ALSO PLEASE LOOK AT MY ROBOT PROJECT???

Even better is that his cousin/guardian is a university student herself, so he totally has a reason now to be on the campus (in case he needs to get something to her) and have a legit reason to run into Dr Lutece, so like-- he could try to sneak a peak at one of her lectures on his way back and fanboy internally the whole time HAHA

(Until some other uni student notices him that is OOPS.....)
