But no okay yamato does kendo, not archery, but his mother owns a bistro that specializes in Japanese-style quick lunches so I bet they totally know each other in some capacity! Especially if they're both into more traditional sports, I'm guessing they probably got along well... it's fine if he's a friendless loser, yams is a weirdo, it all evens out in the end

small world. maybe their moms are friends sharing recipes and stuff, so they know each other by word of mouth? Takumi is shy... but he probably warmed up quickly because Yams is an alien.
