He's at the university level, but it's certainly a class accessible to sufficiently advanced high-schoolers: he's not what you'd call strict about grading so long as you show sufficient enthusiasm for the subject, and there is a certain amount of leeway built into the syllabus for him to spend time going off on philosophical tangents or getting distracted by telling stories about stuff he's seen and done. (Some students make a game of seeing if they can drag him off-topic - he's aware that they're playing him, but he lets it happen to some degree because he likes to tell stories.) So if Naoto wants, say, a kind of downtime class that will give her college-level science credits and also time to organize her notes from her other classes, she's quite welcome!

AU NAME: Please please help me come up with one, I'm serious here. Ideally it would be something that abbreviates into Pot/Po/Temmie-whatever but if I'm left to my own devices I'm guaranteed to come up with something stupid like. Peter Emkin.
AU AGE: Early twenties
AU OCCUPATION: Police Officer
BLURB:
* Born in Recolle to a single mother who he lives with and dotes on.
* He's the sort of person with a lot of varied talents from academic to creative to physical, but circumstances meant turning down all the opportunities he had (an out of state art school, a military scholarship) for one reason or another, ultimately preventing him from ever uprooting. Most of it amounts to mundane reasons like financial concerns or not wanting to leave his family.
* Eventually he settled for a job that would keep him in Recolle with his mother.
* Mostly accepting of his lot in life, except that a repressed sense of wanderlust seeps out sometimes.
* He's not a full true nerd but he's open to it basically. He reads fantasy books and joined a birdwatching group.
* Which might come as a surprise to anyone who knows him otherwise, because he is the biggest i-dotting, paper-pushing, protocol-reciting stickler you're unfortunate to meet/work with.
* Also has an outright frightening case of resting bitchface, though he is actually very harmless.

LOOKING FOR:

* COPS COPS COPS. Like the main reason I'm interested in AUing Potemkin is for buddy cop adventures. I'd love for Potemkin to have a partner (Potemkin is the straightest edge imaginable so he's definitely on the cool end of any dynamic), but there's also bosses, rival's, the guys at forensics, etc.
* Non police characters Potemkin would know anyway. Like a regular place Potemkin grabs food/coffee at while on patrol.
* Repeat offenders of the law and petty criminals for Potemkin to be irritated by, in a sitcom archnemesis sort of way. He's familiar with them, but doesn't want to be.
* I don't really have an idea on any relatives, but childhood friends I would be up for.
* Potemkin is a nice kid who is immensely respectful of any elders and/or veterans. So if there's any of that group that would object to that...
OPTIONAL ENABLE ME:
Very likely to be putting in an app.

i have peanut here who's Doing His Best as a parttime barista, parttime struggling college student designer, but he does a lot of work for events around town! so he may have worked with koga on wardrobe duty before or something. he also works at a good bean cafe which is small and cozy and serves coffee, tea and Fancy Pastries, if you wanna give him a tea place to visit!

All she really does is graffiti and the like, so she's probably not Arch Nemesis territory, but I like to imagine Yoshiko is an enemy to all police officers in her own annoying sort of way. Maybe they can talk about fantasy novels in the cop car on the way to the station?

I can sign Potemkin up as a coworker! In canon Potemkin is a soldier (a supersoldier more like it) but I think in this AU I'll go with him having never signed up. But he's going to think Chris is so cool.

Anyway, as the poorly-shooped pb icon above indicates, Karl is a priest! And while his church, St. Anthony's, is definitely not the only Catholic parish in town, it is the biggest and also the seat of the local bishopric. And also they have Latin Rite masses which might be the closest thing to a vernacular Italian mass this poor guy is gonna get?

But yeah Karl has only lived in Recollé for about six months (he's from west Oregon) so if they know eachother it won't have been for vey long, but by the sound of it Guido will probably have been hired and fired from like four goddamn jobs in that span of time which would undoubtedly make him Concerned.
