AU WORKSHOP - APRIL Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. I'm admittedly canonblind to mafuyu but if she's relatively friendly then they can totally be friends now!! as brett exasperatedly tries to get her to stop being so much of a punk...

Adding Brett's name to the list of teenage punks... aka Brett used to get in minor trouble for stuff like picking fights in public or vandalism or whatever, so Potemkin could've met him from then (if Potemkin's been a cop for a few years)?? He's reformed now though and works part-time at a cafe (A Good Bean) as another place for Potemkin to awkwardly run into him on coffee runs, and he's... actually trying to get into law enforcement after he graduates from high school... please advise, oh cop

Maguyu's generally friendly, yes! In that she can be overwhelmingly friendly sometimes and pretty much just plays around and gets into scuffles instead of studying, but if somebody pisses her off she'll just sock them in the stomach without even thinking of a verbal comeback, haha... mostly because a lot of her friends are punks? they can take punches. She probably got her arm broken over something trivial and stupid like harassing Brett over the last package of sweet bread from the cafeteria and wouldn't stop :'')

I'm not entirely sure of how they would've met since their AU lives don't overlap much (Brett's a high schooler raised in Recolle, ex-delinquent, works part-time at A Good Bean, volunteers at the animal shelter, and hangs around the library?), but Brett's canon backstory deals with trauma re: human trafficking/criminal organizations, so I can offer him!!

Excellent!! If she was 100% rude punk then Brett would probably have pretended not to know her in public, but if she means well then he'll... well, he'll still be exasperated but he'll awkwardly accept this friendship... (and okay then yes he'll uh feel slightly bad SORRY ABOUT BREAKING YOUR ARM THAT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN though you kind of brought it upon yourself too!!)

Hahaha she totally brought it onto herself and recognizes this, so there aren't any grudges on her part. But she'll still fight him for food. Because that's what friends do... or something... she needs better friends

This actually sounds really adorable! If you're both all right with it, I'd absolutely put Mao into the family! He's a good kid, Cherche, you raised a couple of good ones, and the funniest part is it doesn't really come up in this AU but I always kind of see Mao being a lawyer further down the line so that'll be his father's influence there too, just not quite the same as it is with Yata.

Yes!! Kiryu really... looks up to his dad in canon despite him being awful so having someone to be like "actually, that's fucked up" is exactly what he needs...

Look, he will try to be the best big bro possible if that means buying her things or running her errands, that's what he'll do. Just don't ask him to cook dinner, he's not regaining his A+ ramen cooking skills for a long time (Yakuza is a weird game)

That sounds good to me! Go with whatever you want, Kiryu's going to be a boring, mild-mannered guy for a long time... so feel free to go as crazy as possible. He'd probably imagine a little sister like... tiny and in need of protecting (boy will you be surprised, Kiryu)

Kiryu problem-solves through kindness, forgiving and ass-kicking when all else fails... except he's gonna be a wimp in Recolel at first so that last one isn't an option. He's just a really dumbly nice guy... an actual pure cinnamon roll who inevitably befriends every criminal

Hi!! Cherche's player dropped me a comment to talk AU family things so I wanted to come say I would love to have Mao be the little brother in this scenario. Mao's also athletic and he would've worked hard to kick his brother's butt at DDR but only because he's not very good at other video games. They share the Power of Friendship, the bright and thoughtful, I just think this could really work out!

Majima could be a client of his! He buys dresses and suits and stuff for the guys and girls at his host club and they'd have to fit properly to max out their stats (i mean, that's how the real world is right???) so frequenting a tailor and having one he trusts would be very important

because makoto's mother is also a nurse, and she may have looked after him at some point. and perhaps when makoto would accompany her, she would ask makoto to talk to the kid who was about his age anyway, or something.

Oh gosh, definitely! Maybe they knew each other in high school? Has he ever ridden a horse...lmao. Or needed a tutor? Or, maybe he joined her on her crazy joyride hotwiring adventures who knows.

I would LOVE for this to happen! Yata would be a fun yet reliable older brother to him (who totally kicked his butt at DDR, nyeh). I looked Mao up and it says he's seemingly blunt and unsociable, but suprisingly friendly and attentive? And that's Yata too! Only maybe not so responsible and... smart... Yata's a PUNK but he wouldn't show too much of that side to Mao, of course.

Anyway, I think this could work out too! Yata (or Misaki since they'll be sharing that last name?) will support his brother's dreams of becoming a lawyer! Or an idol. Whatever he wants to be!!!

Also I can't believe Mao is taller than him by a centimeter.
