If you want to go back as far as 7 or 8 years, Fai would still have been doing burlesque and would have made a hell of a pretty muse (not that he wouldn't now, but I can see that sort of thing appealing to an artist a lot more than a harried grad student LOL). And that actually works perfectly, since Fai has self-loathing/self-esteem issues and it would have messed with his head to be seen as not much more than a piece of art--he would have got that enough at work, and lumping it on from a boyfriend would be like salt in the wound.

If we do that, we can say they fell out of touch afterward and maybe they can reconnect shortly after Fai gets in the game for maximum awkward? Like Fai would have tried to make the split friendly but... still super awkward. (and fun :D )

Fai is a bit older than Annie (very early thirties) but he's another super friendly, super flirty mom-type, he's going to school with Annie's cousin looks like? and he could really use some female friends. Would Annie possibly have use for a super cheerful, gayer-than-Christmas friend? :)

the only thing i can see, tbh, is that he is v Catholic but not in a holier than thou way, so would she be okay with the crosses and/or him being devout?

Which is useless but also I love dealing with some of Kaz's father issues. Also Kaz went to an Ivy League school at his father's funding so there's a chance he could have been a student.

I was thinking of making Kaz here an accountant so there's a chance they could be the sort that are at odds because of Kaz's clients or occasionally turn around and get along (damn you people that don't keep financial records! /fistshake). Here was my AU planning if it sparks any interest.

i can just see them chattering their way down the street tbh. eijun is the Brightest Genki too so i can absolutely see an instant friendship. maybe they walk home together from school every once in a while so she can visit chuuya? :3c
