Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Hmmm. Given that Naoto is a bit of an over-achiever and possibly already taking classes at college, and Chloe is a recent HS grad who's taking the classic year off to save up for their first year in college, is it possible for them to have gotten to know each other through SAT prep courses?

AU Chloe, like her canon version, can be reasonably persistent with diffident ones, and is prone to teasing, maybe the sort to try and get a fellow student out there a bit more, even if it's just for coffee after a cram session.

That could work! I'm not super canon familiar but that character type seems like she'd be right up the "befriending Naoto" alley. Though if it's just study/prep class, Naoto would probably be friendly and cordial enough but not friendly per se, unless Chloe specifically pushed for that.

Chloe, the canon variety, is an assassin obsessed with a fellow assassin, an impish sense of humor and almost no sense of ethics other than obeying her handler's instructions and trying to win Kirika's attention.

Her Recolle AU is [i]considerably[/i] nicer, heh. She's a florist these days who likes to meddle in her friends' lives and is a bit fascinated by romance and spy thrillers. The persistent side is what I figure helps the most. She's not someone who gives up just because someone is diffident. Generally, though, she doesn't have a 'lot' of friends, so she's generally interested in those who make her curious on some level.

Ahhh, her AU self sounds sweet! She's absolutely welcome to keep trying. Naoto is just going to... lineface at her attempts a lot....

Sounds like a plan to me either way. Should be entertaining, especially as memories of weird tv worlds with shadows and jet-setting to strange countries to stick knives into politicos start coming back to them, respectively.

For sure! How do you think they might know each other?

At a guess, I think SAT Prep is the most likely way, though it's possible that they also met through school. Chloe just graduated, which puts her two years ahead of Naoto. She was here as a foreign exchange student, and took the citizenship tests during her last year.

So, elective civics classes are also a possibility, since she would have needed to study up to get citizenship. I doubt that Naoto's the type to use fake ids to get into night clubs (because the US drinking age is dumb in her french mind. 21 in Recolle, 16 back home.)

Oh yeah, she wouldn't do that at all. Test prep is likely then!
