BLURB: - daughter of a state-level politician from an Undisclosed Coastal State (don't ask her, she won't tell you) and she 100% comes from Old Money
- so she's really pretentious even though she tries to hide it. really into art, architecture, history, literature, name something Snooty and she probably has an educated opinion
- her family is well entrenched in Politics, though her father's popularity ratings fluctuate wildly
- if you ever met her at an old fancy gala, she was probably a sweet and elegant young thing, though admittedly she would never stick around for actual friendships to be made
- politics is a dangerous game and so she doesn't really believe in trusting people from high-class families, which was most of her social circle
- which makes her pretty fucking lonely
- and she doesn't know how to be a teenager, she'd eat quesadilla with a fork and knife
- but she absolutely follows Rich Kids of Instagram and laughs bc she thinks they're trashy
- cue her move to Recollé as a college student. she's 18 and one of Those Freshmen that picked up every pamphlet at the club fair and job fair
- she's Not Here to Make Friends
- aiming for a Double Major of Political Science and Neuroscience because of Reasons
- (those Reasons are that lili's going to single-handedly fight the war on drugs, come at her)
- is a goddamn overachiever since she's a fulltime student, has a lab assistantship at the university, and also does lowly intern work for the Recollé city government
- which is why she's so fucking stressed out over Seabiscuit becoming a chocobo
- no really, she's losing sleep over it (don't look at her, she's got eyebags!)
- yet despite all of her Achievements, you probably know her as the girl who set off the apartment-wide fire alarm because she burnt macaroni and cheese
- or because she maced you once when you surprised her because she's a paranoid little shit
- or maybe for her nicer projects like she's trying to start a weekly soup kitchen or make sleeping bags for the homeless
- but no she's mostly just a judgmental coffee addict workaholic who lacks the social skills to make friends even though she wants them

Maybe the old money? I imagine Naoto's family is immigrants, though reasonably successful and wealthy. Not hyper rich, just pretty well off. they might have more influence in the police side of things at least?

OH no this can definitely work!! I think Naoto's probably just distant enough from the socialites and elites that Lili would be more interested in her family on like. a merit-based level and be much nicer, especially since Lili would try to constantly get information from the police for crime rates and things like that

OLD MONEY HERE. Or rather, he's the third generation heir-to-be from the Jin Group chaebol (global S.Korean company). He's older then her, and probably considered to be a bit of a shallow waste of talent and looks since his main mode at most parties is to flirt shamelessly, date for a couple weeks and then dump the women at his social level. He's got some hidden depths to him (rumors said that his personality did a huge flip after some childhood trauma) and often does stuff like not-purposely-but-yet-purposely draw unsavory attention to himself that gives other people an escape from drama and the like.

It could be possible that they meet in those social obligations that old money attends to show off, and then later has some maybe-snarky comments about it later on on his Facebook feed. Often times is trailed by a long-suffering PA that can't keep him fully out of trouble.

This girl is a sunny sweetheart hiding anxiety with...half the patience of a saint, but is also a sophomore at the university and works at a cupcake bakery. Half points all around? I'd love to have her as a roommate for Minako too, if you're interested!

So Dante is also a stereotypical asshole rich kid, but he's v much of a different sort than Lili. He was born to a famous pianist and operatic soprano (though they divorced when Dante was three so he doesn't know his mother At All; his "mother" is his stepmother who is a publicist) and traveled for several years with them on the touring circuit. His father is very well-known so has played private recitals at ambassadors' houses and sold-out concert halls and stuff like that. So even though his family isn't Old Money, they are in fact Money and so he and Lili could have very well met up at some fancy galas and known each other that way?

Idk maybe all the kids after the See And Be Seen bit were packed off with the nannies to go and be pretentious little shits elsewhere or maybe as they got older the kids were expected to keep each other company

At any rate Dante was touring with his parents from age 11 to 17 so they could have met up multiple times within that span of time c:

Mutsu's two years her senior in uni and it's a mystery but his major is either poli sci or something in the business management and administration or marketing or something. He keeps switching majors because he wants to do everything and can't quadruple major. MAYBE THEY HAVE A CLASS TOGETHER because Mutsu is all over the place so he's like... weirdly behind but not when it comes to class requirements. He's that loud punk that doesn't appear to be taking things seriously. He always runs his mouth and sounds kind of silly but if you really really listen, he knows what he's talking about and won't back down even if it means arguing with the professor in class...

He'll also be working at the cafe with Kashuu because he needs 5 jobs to funnel his energy into or else he'll probably set the school on fire on accident.

Total canonblind here, but I love these AU ideas so much I had to comment! Man, what a cutie. I keep typing and deleting because I can't explain the feeling I have for the AU ideas you have for Lili and I justー Ahhh, Jesus is here to save you, Lili! (No, he's not any better.) Jesus here is an interior designer (and a jack of all trades in other areas of design ー the digital kind, at least) so it might pique her interest in architecture? Also a sunny sweetheart with the patience of a saint here (read: an actual saint canonically...) so... YEA...!

by which i mean he's not well off, has completely lackadaisical feelings about having life goals and an inordinate amount of chill, so he won't crack under her unchill, and he's stubborn enough to want to try to impart the wonders of Normal Teenager Things. he also has a huge soft spot for animals and people less fortunate than he is so he'd just probably skirt right around paranoia mountain to hone in on some of her better qualities with laserlike precision

Alicia is generally still sunny and quite patient, so if Lili has space for another of those it could go terribly.
