AU OCCUPATION: College Student (second year) | Odd-Jobs Man
BLURB:
♠ An almost endearingly laidback 21-year-old at Recolle University with questionable attendance. Majoring in paramedicine to be an EMT. It's not unusual to see him skipping his non-paramedicine classes (like math or English)...or straight up falling asleep during lectures.
♧ Is actually really good at fashion--can think of some pretty decent outfit ensembles if he puts his mind to it. He almost went for it as his major, but he felt like there's a line separating hobby and job.
♦ Hails from the upper coast of Maine. Portland, to be exact. An only child raised by his grandfather as his parents are not around (either passed away or just couldn't end up taking care of him/out of his life)
♧ He left Maine when his grandfather passed away, when he was around the age of 18. His love of card games and gambling came from him, and it's something that makes him feel closer to him even after his death.
♡ Came to Recolle at age 19, after sorting out things with his Grandpa's house and inheritance. Met a friend there who helped him get an apartment which he lives in alone (for now).
♠ Can often be seen hitting up coffee shops (either skipping class or on his off days) for the free wifi, listening to the live performances (one Elliot Craig comes to mind), and reading the paper. Notorious for his tab there.
♧ Is a bit of a gambler--he likes to use some of his paychecks to buy the $1 lottery tickets at the gas station to try his luck and win some decent money. Said luck isn't the greatest, so he's always looking for people to go halfway with him and borrow 50 cents off them. He'll give it back--seriously!
♦ Along with lottery tickets, he absolutely loves card games, often playing UNO or Go Fish with kids for candy. Loses on purpose though, since kids always tell when you're about to pick their best card.
♡ LOVES gacha phone games, especially the idol ones. He's always trying to bring home the hunnies.
♠ Since his grandpa only had dial-up (oof) he's a bit new to the trends that are going around these days. What's an MMO, what's Neopets.
♧ He doesn't necessarily have a -job- per say. But more like he takes up odd requests from the paper or word of mouth and getting payment for it. Need help moving something to your apartment? He'll do it. Don't want to assemble that IKEA bookshelf? He'll do it (pretty well too).
♦ Very good at cooking seafood (it's also his favourite food) and knows how to make homemade fish burgers, fish sticks, and lobster rolls.
♡ Despite his lax personality, he's quite reliable in a fight, and is actually quite a good marksman should the need arise. Not that he necessarily OWNS a gun yet, but the natural skills both physically and magically will be a regain.
♠ Will be starting out with black hair and brown eyes, to match the 'Crow' name. His parents were those people who wanted something more creative than 'Raven', ok.
♧ One giant bisexual.
♦ Surprisingly an old soul--and talks like one too. He'll often call himself 'Uncle Crow' to people around him (esp if they're younger), he'll act like your mentor too if that's the case. 'Kids these days', 'ah, youth', and other such OLD MAN SAYINGS are commonplace with this one. Then again, that's what happens when you're raised by one.

LOOKING FOR:
♠ Friends and acquaintences around the city? Past customers, people who know of his notorious scams of 50 cents, fellow classmates catching him cutting history, anything!
♧ Classmates! Especially ones that let him crash their dorm when he wants to raid their fridges.
♦ Teachers...if they want to put up with this disaster of a student.
♡ Kid/High Schooler CR! Crow is excellent with kids and often takes the big brother role (Although...idk if role MODEL is entirely accurate). He's very reliable when it comes down to it, though--absolutely no harm will come to said kids under his watch, so let him be your wise, wise senpai!
♠ Has probably had multiple dates with both men and women--so previous flings or one night stands are open!
♧ Cousins/People from his hometown! I have Crow set on being an only child but that doesn't mean that there aren't distant relatives out there he didn't account for! Same goes for people from the same city he grew up in.

Hello! So Lucille here is Elliot's younger cousin, and while that doesn't offer much in the way of CR, it's possible that these two could have a gen ed class or two together. She is a tryhard when it comes to school, so she won't hesitate kick his ass for skipping if they manage to hit it off well enough.

JAMIE IS ALSO 21 AND IN medical-adjacent college (though he's a senior... and aiming for med school, ultimately hoping to become a trauma surgeon) and likes to get high and works at a cafe (the Tea Kittle, which obviously specializes in tea, but he himself specializes in all the same espresso drinks they serve at Starbucks, which is where he used to work until he fled with the trade secrets)

he's broke and doesn't have any extra food but you could pet his cats probably

also he is a lonely thot so if Crow himself had any interest then dates/flings/etc. could 100% have happened

I can offer a fellow college student (pursuing arts!) who can always be suckered into giving 50 cents towards the lotto tickets because he is a giant doormat. He's the kind of hopelessly good kid who tends to go along with whatever even if he's well aware he probably should have turned this down like, fifteen minutes ago, but it's okay because being good to others is v important.

AU AGE: 19-21, undecided
AU OCCUPATION: College student; works part-time at Game On! and/or other odd jobs to pay for room and board.
BLURB:

• Born in Recolle to two very loving parents... who proceeded to get into some kind of accident and die when she was about 7-8
  
• With no other family to speak of, Rosette grew up at the local orphanage. She is an absolute terror for the first year, because she can't find a way to cope
  
• But eventually she does, by literally adopting every single kid who will let her drag them around. And even the ones that won't. Yay found family.
  
• Teenage life is Really Rough for her, and the moment she turns 18, she peaces out. BEING AN ORPHAN SUCKS AND SHE LOVES YOU ALL BUT SHE HAS TO GO.
  
• Works an unhealthy amount of hours at a number of jobs until she can get on her feet. Like. Only still standing out of grit and determination.
  
• Possibly has a hefty inheritance? I could take or leave this, because she would still insist on doing as much on her own anyway. Strong independent woman don't need dead daddy's money!!
  
• Her experiences at the orphanage push her toward looking at either education or medicine for a profession. It takes her a bit to get her life squared to a point where she can go to college, but she does it.
  
• She's kind of a crappy student. If she's into something she is into it. Otherwise eh staying on the curve is fine.
  
• Sophomore or junior at Recollé University.

LOOKING FOR:

• Found family/fellow orphans! She's the type of person who collects people, whether they like it or not. Especially grumps. She will fight you, but she will also love you fiercely. Also who wants to be a proxy for her canon little brother? You do, obviously.
  
• Current and previous classmates. She would have gone through the school system in Recollé, and depending she's either an education student or med. I'm not married to either idea, so convince me?
  
• Game-On or other odd job workers. She seriously should learn to cut back, but mama has to pay for college and that is Expensive.

OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: This won't be happening until either November or January. Other possible characters I may be considering are Nia Teppelin from Gurren Lagann or Zidane Tribal from Final Fantasy IX, but their backstories aren't nearly as fleshed out.

I don't think her time at the orphanage would have overlapped with Tatsuo's any (he aged out in 2004), but he still helps out where he can (buys toys for Christmas presents and helps make sure the orphanage is well stocked on clothes and school supplies), so she could have seen him around.

HAAA literally high five on orphan / grew up on the street and going into probably medicine. Also Emma is probably not getting apped until November but definitely the right range for them to know one another. (Emma got the kind of scores on the tests that make universities pay for the student to attend, so she's on full scholarship... since I already have Touya who works a bazillion jobs to pay his tuition)

... which leads me to Touya who is in the game, 20 y o Chemistry student (who might be looking into turning that into research/teaching, because his dad was a Professor in Archaeology) so they just might have classes together...

He would have been there two years ago for a relatively short time until he got adopted. I could imagine him wanting to try to run for it as he didn't trust orphanages at the time(The last family he had was horrible to him), so she might have caught him trying to run?

☆ Very Foreign, her mama is french and her papa is japanese! she grew up speaking a mix of the two languages, though while they lived in japan she mainly spoke japanese and then mainly french later on. however her english is v good!
☆ unfortunately hina peppers her speech with gratuitous french because her Super Cool older brother faireleclown (wataru hibiki) does so. hina idolizes him a lot and tends to pick up hobbies he likes and copycat certain qualities as u do (as such she does THEATER and BALLET)
☆ her parents split due to work/business issues and remained on amicable terms. while wataru went to america with dad the much younger hina went to france with mom, where she lived pretty much until just a short time ago!
☆ she got to switch off visits on breaks/holidays to her father or wataru coming to their mother. so she has spent a decent amount of time in america (partly why her english is v good)
☆ hina sent REALLY LONG ABSURD letters to her father and brother from france, and also text messages, she loves her family,,,
☆ she loved living in france, really! hina's always been very social and usually has an easy time fitting into new places largely because she fuckin ignores anyone who gives her trouble and just does her own thing, like a shining star
☆ she's Very outgoing and Very blunt and it's a hina thing not an anything else thing. wht is tact??? hina hibiki sure doesn't know!!
☆ she's annoyingly talented at things with what appears to be very little effort??? probably especially annoying in school where she manages to hover around the top of the class all the time

hello!! as of septemberish, miai and wataru started hanging out and miai occasionally comes over (mostly to visit tori tbh) - if hina lives with tori and wataru, then he's probably met her since iirc miai comes over for movie nights sometimes with wataru+tori.

he'd probably find her energy charming and would definitely encourage tori and hina to be friends (hits f for tori)-- he also likes to spoil people younger than him so he'd probably do the same with her, esp since she's wataru's little sis... always bringing gifts and sweets for tori and hina when he drops by !!

BLURB: For those unfamiliar with Tokyo ESP, it's basically X-Men set in Japan. It straight up lifts so many things from X-Men to the point her dad is a Wolverine expy and Rinka is a Kitty Pryde expy. If mutant powers were granted by flying glowing fish that came from a mystical tablet. There's finding out you're a mutant (esper), deciding how you're going to use your powers, running into other espers using their powers for BAD THINGS and deciding to STOP THEM. (We're not going to talk about the 2nd half of the manga yet, lmao.)

I'm thinking of flipping Rinka's canon history. So instead of growing up broke and barely scraping by in Japan with her father, she grows up in the US with her mother and lives a rather plush life. Though she probably isn't close to her mother at all.

- living in Recolle with her mother (who is in intelligence, though Rinka probably just thinks her mother is in business)
OR
- living in Recolle w/ relatives from her mother's side

- has no memories of her father, believes he was someone her mother met on a 'business' trip
- kind of wonders about him though, due to her distant relationship with her mom
- grew up very comfortably (not rich but still pretty well off)
- loves designer things, goes shopping at least once a week, bit of a clothes horse, lives in athleisure
- athletic, on the track team, long jump? high jump? mile?
- good student, A/B average, good at science and math, alright at literature and history, studying Japanese
- just got her license, drives a FIAT 500, absolute lead foot
- doesn't know shit about taking care of herself (if she lives w/ her mother, they have a housekeeper... who Rinka is probably close with)
- terrified of birds (...IT'LL BE HILARIOUS WHEN SHE REGAINS PENGI ... unless someone apps Murasaki, then she has dibs on the penguin)
- at some point, will get a job, b/c Rinka isn't Rinka w/out the side-hustle
- known among her friends for being the violent one, will slap you upside the head for being a dumbass
- more ruthless and less forgiving due to being raised by her mother instead of her father, will step on you to get what she wants
- however, she's not cruel to people, just really, really driven, and puts up with no bullshit
- inspired to go into sports medicine after an injury sophomore year

AU OCCUPATION: High school student
BLURB:
-Heather and her father, Harry, were relocated to Recolle when Heather was a baby after entering witness protection.
-Heather's mother was killed by what are believed to be cult members, not all of whom have been found.
-Heather is now walking the line of juvenile delinquency, disrespectful to teachers, mouthing off in class, but always more cautious around police.
-A walking sarcasm bomb, it never ends, I'm so sorry for her.
-Very twitchy around the occult or mentions of magic, because of what little she knows about her mother's death.
-Has a really great relationship with her father. Even when she is getting close to trouble, Harry's reaction is supportive.
-Best subject is English, secret poetry journal shhh, but she is also pretty physical.
-Considering sports for her to be a part of (softball lol)
