AU WORKSHOP - SEPTEMBER Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Haha! I did not know this. What are the odds? Oh well, luckily Ione isn't really going to mind at all. She may even write a short story about it, I'm sure. Thanks for the tidbit about it because I had no idea until now.

Once every two weeks should be great! Maybe. I swear, watch her bring him a giftcard and be all "this is your pay unless you want actual money, then I can do that too".

I like to imagine so. Violet is naturally good at reading people, just not emotions, while I aim for Ione to be the opposite in that she can read emotions, and won't pry unless Al makes it obvious he wants to talk about stuff.

I'll leave it up to your desecration! Ione understands that everyone has a story, not all are to be told unless they decide to, so I can see her being open in having him tell her his story whenever he feels comfortable to. She won't pry unless it is absolutely necessary to.

MISSION ACCEPTED! He shall become a poet. It has been decided!

Your call on how often, Al would chase every single one for her(why does that sound like crush/romance material?)

I think he would probably just use said gift card(or money if she insists) to buy her sweets "I need my boss to be happy, job's no fun otherwise".

Al's issue is essentially not feeling like he belongs and struggles to accept that people will stick around and see him in a positive light; as him being a pick-pocket alone tends to push some people away(even with his rules, he does pick-pocket for his own profit often.).

I imagine if she were to press him for it, since she is such a sweetheart, he would most likely open up to her. Especially given recent events and his goal to open up to his family about everything, so he needs the practice! Or at least a good confidence boast to do so.

I want to play this soooo bad now! But your apping next month right?

By the way, how is she in cannon?

omg she 100% will (like, as soon as she finds out it was Clover)

but yeah let's talk about the dynamic! Violet obviously isn't... living her life in a very Clover-approved (or anyone-approved) way at the moment, or ever, so that's probably a source of some friction.

I'm imagining the kind of relationship where, any time Clover's saying something Violet doesn't want to hear (either because it's critical of her or because it seems boring to her), she starts tuning her out within a few seconds (often accompanied by either starting to do something else, or just wandering off)?? Which is obviously Very Rude. But then, every once in a while, days/weeks/years later, she'll make an offhand reference to something Clover said or did in the midst of a tune-out, raising the question of whether she was secretly paying attention?? At the same time, she completely forgets anywhere from 10 to 40% of the things they discuss during perfectly friendly/interesting conversations.

OMG THAT'S CUTE...
I feel like Violet probably gives her custom pieces once or twice a year that she explains are specifically tailored to Rose's tastes, but it's always completely unclear why she thought Rose would like them? And if Rose actually asks, she'll be like, "Oh, because it shares a sensibility with [X other thing]" (with X being anything from another art piece of Violet's to a book or movie or UN heritage site, but it definitely won't be anything Rose has ever mentioned liking), or "I used [Y pattern/technique/color scheme] that I know you love" (where Y is, again, something Rose will never be able to figure out when or how she gave the impression that she liked).

And maybe once or twice, it's turned out Rose actually DOES like X thing (or realizes she does after she looks it up), or Y pattern is modeled after the secondary motif on a pair of socks Rose wore a lot ten years ago. But most of the time, it's just straight-up impossible to figure out.

Also, Violet will have made NO comment / had any reaction whatsoever to Rose's eye flower (whether she saw it as an NPC or is first seeing it now), but privately she admires Rose's commitment to that look, and the eventual realization that it's not just an avant-garde fashion choice will shake her up at least as much as/more than the memory of Zero trying to kill her.

She has a terrible sweet tooth and will happily take it, even though she will insist that he uses the money for his own expenses. Don't starve on her account! :C

If that's the case, then I can see her lightly pressing him for info while giving him the option to decide on a line for her not to cross. I can imagine once their CR gets stronger, she'll be more than willing to step on that line he made every once in a while to test the waters.

I may be apping this month. Seeing that I'm getting such awesome CR, it is motivating me to finish my canon reviewing and app a lot faster. Just gotta make sure I don't slack with my first character though.

In canon, I will have to say she is more or less the same, but more awkward and very stoic-like in personality. Violet is a child soldier that was trained to kill and follow orders. Her master fakes his death to offer her the opportunity to have a normal life outside of war and murdering people for the government, so she becomes like a ghost writer and writes letters because she is on a mission to understand her master's final words "I love you". It's a really good series. I recommend the anime, even though I will be playing her light novel version (which is rated R while the anime is PG-13 at best).

But don't worry; she repays this kindness by literally never remembering Lina's birthday or being on time to anything, ever! She does, however, give her weirdly thoughtful gifts (at WILDLY varying price points) about three times every two years.

Wow So Thoughtful! She will happily accept his largesse while entirely ignoring all Tough Love or lifestyle criticisms! --In fact I feel like when he tries to get on her case about her MANY bad choices, she responds as though whatever he just said was actually a compliment or encouragement/affirmation, and it's never quite clear whether she misunderstood him, wasn't listening at all, or is just being a dick.

However she legit admires and respects his mech collection.

He's not starving any day soon, virtually at any given moment, he has food on his person. Jerkies, granola bars, smarties/M&M's(that saved him once).

Her being happy about it, would make Al happy(since he can do something "right" by making her happy, did I mention low self-esteem?). I think her objecting would make Al take it as a challenge and just TRY to come up with the most stupid excuses to share sweets with her.

His childhood most likely be a firm line, his previous adopted family and running away from them, would most likely be fair game.

Don't worry about it, Apping is a time consuming process. If you need the time to do it right it's okay. I'm so excited about this though!

That sounds like a good anime. This is going to be super interesting to see her react to those memories. What kinds of regains you shooting for?

Suzu is also a youtube singer (albeit of the metal variety and never shows her face), and also is obsessed with conspiracies, being a co-host of a conspiracy theory-themed podcast with Akane. Maybe they could be mutuals/collaborators online? Suzu has been recently branching out with making original content as well, so we could do something with that. join her band when she has a meltdown

Suzu also works in Every Part Time Job Ever, so they could also be acquainted via Suzu being a "burned out older normie co-worker"

lina's moving out to be with her live-in girlfriend extremely good friend jen bowen/yang rwby/burndownforwhat but that just means that violet can follow her

lina still loves her. she's used to how violet works. she always makes sure to make her bed and keeps leftovers in the fridge in case her sister comes over and needs a nap and a snack. and she definitely displays all the gifts prominently in her room or in the kitchen or wherever.

Ahh that would be so cute!! Yeah, Violet has been interested in art/making things since she was quite young! It's kind of hard to say whether she had the kind of talent that other people would have taken notice of, just because the stuff she makes is so abstract and weird, but she does have a very intense clarity of vision. Even in the hospital she would have been using whatever materials were available to create little sculptures or patterns. And she would definitely have happily talked all about what she was making and why and all of her Art Emotions to anyone who didn't mind listening!
