AU WORKSHOP - MAY Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World Changes FAQ Game Calendar Plot Finds (ooc knowledge) • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. AU OCCUPATION: Junior in college at Recolle University, studying criminal justice and psychology as a pre-law major.
BLURB:
- 21 year old girl who is a third generation immigrant from Japan. She's really close with her grandma who tells her of Japan a lot and takes her there once in a while.
- An only child.
- Really into MMOs and dungeons and dragons. Probably has DM'd a campaign before if not part of a few dungeons and dragons groups.
- One of her characters is based on a jellyfish.
- Studying law because she was the only one recommended in her class to be a lawyer when taking an aptitude test in high school. Plus she got a few scholarships due to her grades.
- She's really into psychology and understanding how people tick. She thinks that will help her as a lawyer in the future.
- She can't swim.
- Pretty self-sufficient and often good at taking care of herself and her mental health.
- A terrible cook.
- Can drink just about everyone under the table.
- Very nosy and likes to pry into people's business and often gets scolded for that.
- Though despite being nosy, she's very friendly and is always wearing a smile. Her kind personality of hers has earned her some friends.
- She also doesn't judge so she probably has a few 'shady' friends who are actually pretty legit-- they just got in trouble in the past. Akane believes they can learn from past mistakes and become better people.
- Probably is a hipster and does the twitter/instagram thing.
- Works a part time job somewhere.

✦ Mother was always working and otherwise lax in parenting, so his father took on raising Dwyer; has been controlling, demeaning, and demanding of Dwyer since he was small, causing him intense stress that developed into chronic fatigue syndrome
✦ Exhaustion and depression severely impacted his school career, pushing his father towards more verbal abuse, which fed right into his exhaustion and depression
✦ When his school said he'd have to repeat his last year of high school and neither they nor his father seemed to be helping him, Dwyer's mother finally put her foot down and insisted Dwyer live away from his father and try to get himself back on track in Recolle's excellent school system, sent him to live with her sister about a month or so ago
✦ Enjoys audiobooks of all kinds, videos on "life hacks" and tips to make daily life easier so he can conserve his energy

LOOKING FOR: I'd love an aunt for him and any uncle or other aunt/cousins that might come with that! Since I'm playing him as fairly new in Recolle I think family would be the primary connection he'd have. I'm also super open to plotting out potential new CR to make if I can manage to get accepted.

Both my guys would probably drop by his shop, Gon/Kiyoshi more than Koutarou though because Glutton. Plus Kiyoshi's got flings/past flings all over the place if you'd like them to have hooked up at some point. And Koutarou is from a wealthy-ish family that he's pretty much broken off all contact with if you'd like for them to be distant relatives or something.

Kiyoshi used to travel around a lot in America after he was kicked out of Japan by his dad before he settled in town so they could have met at some point and Kiyoshi could have helped him get the job or something

I don't think I can help with the relative bit but I can offer up either one of my guys as a neighbour that can sympathize on shitty families because they both have them.

Kiyoshi's cooking for his kid and niece every day anyway and can make sure Dwyer gets proper food (he's a glutton that can't allow people to starve or eat the same thing all the time) and Koutarou can cook when he's actually home (but he'll probably more often be seen walking into things because he has his nose in a sketchbook) and he feeds this one stray god on an irregular basis anyway; Kiyoshi lives in Crimson Crest and Koutarou in Birch Hills, but he also has an atelier at the bottom of an apartment building in Apprassage.
