AU WORKSHOP - JANUARY Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. CHARACTER: Kirei Kotomine.
CANON: Fate/Heaven's Feel.

AU NAME: Kei Shigaraki (surname flexible if someone actually wants to be related to him).
AU AGE: 37 years old.
AU OCCUPATION: Ramen shop owner/Back-Alley Doctor.
BLURB:

» Born in Japan, but moved to live Recollé in his mid-teens.
» His father opens up a ramen shop and does actually pretty well.
» Initially went to Recollé University to become a doctor and got in on a scholarship, but he didn't finish. His father grew ill during his internship and he dropped out to take care of both him and the shop.
» His father passed away and the shop completely came into his possession. The menu has drastically changed over the years to while the sign outside still reads "ramen", the only thing inside that is served is various different kinds of mapo tofu. (Ramen noddles are sometimes in it, so, it counts.)
» The shop has a $500 grand prize to anyone who can eat the super spice mapo tofu in under a half hour. If they can't do it, they have to pay $50.
» He is able to avoid becoming his twisted self and never touches on the darker parts of his nature. (Because as Fate/ has shown us... no matter the incarnation, he's always born lacking empathy and enjoying the suffering of others. Recollé is no different, but he avoids becoming fully twisted and warped.)
» Runs a back-alley clinic (both for those who can't afford it and those who are a little on the shady order and need some hush-hush medical work.)
» Yeah, he's still into martial arts but isn't as religious as he is in canon.
» Still a ridiculously tall man with dead eyes and a sardonic sense of humor, but he means mostly well (dead inside but not acknowledging the gaping blackness that is his soul).
» Still monologues. (So sorry, literally everyone).

LOOKING FOR:

» Family? Again, AU!Kirei isn't as much of a trashfire as his canon counterpart, but he is still kind of a trashfire. Still, I leave this option open.
» Friends? Children of friends? He's lived in Recollé almost his entire life.
» Regulars at his ramen shop?
» Clients for his back-alley clinic?
» Confidante? Who wouldn't want to be able to share stuff with someone who has the patience of a priest?

Sure!

He'll greet them and give them less spicy mapo tofu with ramen noodles. It's still spicy, but ya know. YA KNOW. Less so. That's how he shows affection by not so hard-bullying with food.

Well I have two possible CR things. The first is Karen here (an AU of Kara), who's 28, and works at the university in the bio lab. She...could probably help supply him with some supplies for his back-alley work. She has a soft spot for anyone that can't afford to pay and would generally be cool with helping that.

Also Penelope mincingminuet is prooobably a frequent customer. Mapo tofu is a favorite food.

that said, i'd love cr with him! i'm considering how they could know each other prior to him appearing, and grell here is a medical examiner for the city - one who due to the absence of other medical people has been acting as something of a physician for retrospec affected people. potentially if they've connected she could have been buying basic supplies for this work from him bc of how he's willing to deal with the shady side of things? alternately if they meet through the app she'd be interested in seeing if he wanted to offer his knowledge for those physically changed by the app...having an actual clinic for people to go to instead of the morgue would be nice....

KIREI... this is so wonderful, I love it. Jaeger here is involved in some Shady Shit like selling snake oil that may or may not be more than just snake oil, um. So he might have sent potential patients Kirei's way in the past! I figure they could generally be kind of shady together, since I feel like they'd probably get along. If Kirei can stand Jaeger's obnoxious personality??

Sakura is relatively new to the city herself, only five-ish months in, but I love the idea of her having gone to the ramen shop once and lost spectacularly.

oh he'd definitely know May. She's a small time hood/lifetime street kid, so back-alley clinics are her friend, so he's probably treated her before, as well as some of the girls she's a de-facto gang leader for.

i’ve noticed that kirei and semira (semiramis) are similar in AU age and may have went to university in roughly the same time span… therefore, i figure that they would know each other in one way or another. back in the day, i do envision her being in much need of his back alley doctor services, though she wouldn’t use them presently. being the snob she is and all that jazz.

though, on that note, they can definitely be confidants — at least as far as semira professing some of her not so savory qualities to him! it should be fun.
