AU WORKSHOP - JANUARY Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! BLURB: -From a low middle class family that originally was from Japan but moved to Recolle when she was small
-Studied piano as a kid, didn't like it very much but was decent enough at it to be encouraged to do so
-Was a straight C student. Went to the university to study languages but dropped out after a year
-Became a waitress to make ends meet in some restuarant
-Eventually became a tutor to some old high school friend's kid for the piano (since she couldn't say no) for like fifty bucks on a weekend
-Because of that she makes weekend money by teaching kids piano even though she still doesn't like it.
-Her students love her, though.
-Unlike her canon self, she's not a murderer. She might have broken a few men's hearts by leaving them a Dear John letter but generally she's an average citizen.
-Like her canon self, though, she just let's life push her around and might want something a bit more than a dead end job and a side job she couldn't care less about

LOOKING FOR: Anyone! Friends, enemies, family, kids, students, a significant other? But mainly a kid. She's a great mom.

Any interest in making Ai and Matt old acquaintances from childhood? Matt is a Recolle native about three or four years older than her who took piano lessons for years from one of the friendly local teachers. Maybe these two had the same teacher and crossed paths as one kid's lesson ended and the other's started and at their recitals?

That actually fits in nicely. I think I like that idea. Even if Ai doesn't have a great appreciation for piano at the moment she probably would have at least tried making friends with the other musical kids.

For real though-- These two can have met in the military? Zack was born in a small rural area and town outside of Recolle if you want them to know each other earlier than that though. Right now Zack's on leave from service because of a shoulder injury (he was shot twice and fell off a roof) and is working as a mechanic (with Cloud!).

- Foster child who doesn't know his roots and doesn't want to know them, because he might be ashamed by whatever dysfunctional people he was taken from
- He's ashamed of how terrified he still is of his foster father even after moving to Recolle. He has to make weekly phone calls just to make sure the leash isn't tightened round his neck.
- Less obsessed with setting fire to everything than in canon, just to save on him being immediately arrested.
- Wants to own a motorbike, partly so he's not a poser if he wears head to toe leather but mostly because he's a giant thrill seeker. He's saving up diligently.
- Wants to be a fighter pilot because piloting giant war machines is The Best Thing Ever, but because the US Airforce is nothing like the RAF I'm hedging my bets here and simply saying he's in community college to bump up his grades enough to apply.
- He needs a part time job and I'm leaning towards him being a mechanic, mostly because he has the opposite of every personality trait required for customer service.
- Is still the vainest thing ever and has an instagram-analogue following to match his ego.
- Practices a martial art to get out the emotional turmoil that lighting fires used to cure. I'm debating here, because I have a little experience with ju jitsu but he's the sort who'd pick something ultraviolent like Krav Maga
- Experiences gender dysphoria but is so far in the closet that he's in Narnia. He wants to believe that he's Normal. Behind his memories of Dilandau sleeps his original self, Celena, and though his memories of being her are suppressed his soul isn't meant to be in the changed body that it's in.

AU OCCUPATION: He co-owns a few businesses through funding them when they were just starting up, but the one he is more hands on about running is a super fancy upper class restaurant. It was his first ever business and started out very humble but has become one of those places they'll turn you down at the door just for looking shabby.
BLURB:
- Son of two scientists, has several siblings.
- His older, twin siblings were a pair of delinquents in their youth and had a tendency to pick him on when they were growing up. Just standard sibling stuff and nothing too serious, but when he grew up he became a resentful little shit.
- The rest are /waves hands. i guess one of them really loves their trucker hat
- Got a lot of his parents smarts but rather than follow in their footsteps he entered the stock market. I guess you could say he had a knack for taking other people's stuff and using it to become more powerful influential.
- In typical fictional backstory style, he had resounding success and made a lot of money. He used it to fund his first ever business, establishing a small restaurant that over time become fancier and fancier until it had nothing but those people who shell out thousands of dollars for food with like, gold shavings on the plate. You know that shit.
- He has very little appreciation for his staff and thinks people are paying out the ass for nothing, but he tries to keep his mouth shut because wouldn't wanna piss off all his staff by insinuating the food his chefs make aren't worth their price tag.
- Over the years he's lent money out to aspiring businesses he had a good feeling about and co-owns several businesses in the city as a result. Occasionally uses this as leverage if he needs favours from people.
- SO CELL'S STILL PRETTY MUCH AN ASSHOLE ABSOLUTELY OBSESSESED WITH PERFECTION. His outfits are all several layers all Perfectly coordinated, Perfectly accessorized. He's always clean shaven and his hair is Perfectly trimmed. He's a neat freak and if you spill something on his clothes or rumple his outfit he'll probably throw a hissy fit.
- He can be kiiiind of decent with people who have a lot of wealth or influence but he looks down on everyone else. Very condescending. Very smug.
- Acts like he's So Smart that he relishes a challenge to his intellect but in reality he's a super poor loser. If he loses at stuff he throws a hissy fit.
- When he isn't throwing hissy fits he's actually a very charming guy. Very handsome, very smooth. Also a ruthless businessman, I mean, would you fuck with someone voiced by norio wakamoto
- He pays his workers very well and you get good benefits but he runs the tightest ship imaginable. Retrospec is now excuse to call out sick from work FYI.

- Moved around a lot, partially overseas, as a kid and came to Recollé about a year ago.
- Dad military, mom housewife, both from military families
- Lived in Germany for a few years as a child
- His parents never paid much attention to him, unless he was doing something wrong, and he’s mostly been raised by neighbors, family friends, etc at the various bases he’s lived on. He considers his childhood a relatively happy one.
- Had a big fight with his parents about him not joining the military and deciding to pursue a career as a writer instead, which ultimately led to his decision to move to Recollé.
- Makes his living writing romance novels (harlequin or similar) under a couple of pseudonyms while he works on his own book.
- Likes steampunk more than he’d like to admit.
- Anger issues!!!
- Is very passionate about social issues and injustices.
- Will step in if he sees someone being mistreated, or comes across a crime in progress, even if it’s not really safe to.
- But at least these days he’ll probably try talking first instead of opening with a fist. (I did mention anger issues, didn’t I?)
- Does a lot of volunteer and charity work, especially concerning veterans
- Practices acrobatics and parkour
- Speaks German
- Not good with names. It’s not that he won’t remember them, it’s more that he has a tendency to remember them wrong and if he happens to like the one he’s come up with you may just have to resign yourself to a new nickname. If you’re lucky it’ll even make sense.
- Kind of reckless and prone to last second decisions.
- Has an open, honest and somewhat blunt personality. He’s not very good at pretending being something he isn’t.
- Kind, good with kids and animals
- Manages to be both grown up beyond his years and incredibly childish.
- Cares a lot.

- Mimi would spend a lot of her summers out in this universe's equivalent of Tokyo, with her family
- Lives in a townhouse with her family just outside of downtown
- Her mom is a part-time food blogger, which is what piqued Mimi's interest in blogging and vlogging
- Super fasionable, and loves to experiment! She probably makes some of her own clothes as well
- That girl who constantly changes her hair color/wears wigs as part of her everyday wardrobe
- Runs a small YouTube channel that she puts up makeup and fashion videos on
- Instagram addict
- She isn't the best student in school, but she gets by
- Doesn't really have a consistent plan for herself when she graduates. She tends to move from one thing to another within a very short timeframe
- Can be kind of self-focused when it comes to some things, and she tends to walk all over quiet, shy types
- Will aggressively attach herself everyone and anyone, and will throw down for her friends
- Is her friends' biggest cheerleader! You're awesome and can do anything just believe in yourself!

LOOKING FOR:
FRIENDS Either people who genuine enjoy her presence, or people who have been swept up by hurricane Mimi. THIS HAPPENS A LOT, and she has a nasty habit of barnacling herself to other people who are interesting or have similar(ly weird) tastes.

CLASSMATES She probably has a reputation by this point with her under and upperclassmen. Maybe you were in a class with her? Maybe you have a sibling who was?

FAMILY I'm leaving this relatively open, but I would love it if she comes from a relatively larger family, even if she herself is an only child. Cousins, aunts, uncles, whatever!

(un)FASHIONABLE TYPES This girl is either the most fashion forward person in the room, even if that means sometimes being a bit odd to look at. She needs people to be able to swap ideas with, or possibly to dress up.
