CHARACTER: Luke Castellan
CANON: Percy Jackson and the Olympians
BLURB: -Luke Castellan is 23 years old and he's the oldest of two children (with he and his sister being roughly 7 years apart.)
-As someone from the upper class end of things, his father's a very busy business man and his mother's actively involved in several things with the community. Being reasonably close with his mother, Luke and his sister were usually dragged along into helping out the community and doing stuff for the city whether he really wanted to or not.
-He's also incredibly close with his sister and will pretty much fight anybody who messes with her. This extends to pretty much anyone she's friends with, or kids he's remotely close with period.
-He was considered very popular in high school and involved both with the student council and as a member of the fencing team. He has often considered teaching fencing lessons on the side but he's never gotten around to it.
-He's also spent every summer from ages 14-present as a counselor for a children's daycamp held by the Recollé school district.
-He went to Recollé University for a year before dropping out. He wasn't always the best student and he was bored most of the time which is a large part of why he dropped out.
-At 18, he cheated his way into being hired as a stockboy/bouncer at a bar in Tisse
-Now at 23 he's the owner/manager/mixologist at Cabin 11, the same bar under a new name
-Personality-wise Luke is incredibly easy-going to the point of being a borderline casual asshole. He likes to play tricks on people for his own amusement but he's also very open to chatting with just about anybody in the city.
-Can usually be found following around his best friend, a girl close to his age.
-He can be flirty and has had his fair share of flings mostly because he has a tendency to be unsettled and want to explore his options.
-On the flip-side, he can also be pretty aggressive if he views someone or something as a threat.
- He's been in trouble with the law before for minor things but he's been doing his best to try and stay out of the watchful eye of the police.
LOOKING FOR: Generally speaking I'm fairly open to anything and I wanted to craft Luke's AU to open as many options as possible. I'm definitely interested in adult CR (patrons of his bar, people who know his parents, old professors, other business owners in Tisse, etc) but I'm also very much open to younger CR since Luke would have a tendency to know who his sister's peers are along with kids who may have attended one of the day camp sessions, other kids from the fencing team at Recollé High, etc. Since Cabin 11 will be operating under Luke's new management, it will be open at different times for both minors and legal adults. I'm also perfectly fine with antagonistic/negative CR! Luke's kind of a brat, I'm sure he's pissed off a few people in this city now and then.
OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: I'm pretty set on Luke here but I would absolutely be ecstatic for somebody to app an Annabeth Chase or a Percy Jackson specifically, though others from his canon are good, too. Seriously, please spot me some demigods y'all.

I can definitely see Sorey going to a summer camp, too, or swinging by the bar sometimes to drive people home. He's underage so he never drinks, but he'll be the designated driver.

SAFFY I almost hit your comment but you beat me. HI PLEASE? Please give me The Sworduser...they're going to be roughly three years apart? If he's been in the city for a while we could easily say like they met when Luke was a senior and Sorey was a freshman if they went to the same high school or something and got along because athletic nerds. Luke's really bad at school but I think he'd also be vaguely charmed by Sorey's enthusiasm for history, too (his baby sister's kind of a nerd.) But also please come by his bar, he's making it so underage friends can come keep him company tbh.

Dave is the only one who's okay because he's content with his AJ and doesn't try to bully Luke for booze...

Lucy though okay he'd make the mistake of letting Dave DJ one night how poorly would that go?

...although I'm canonblind, this sounds like someone Gwendal would enjoy hanging out around, even if he himself is not particularly chatty. Regular patron at the bar, probably? And as a bonus he's got the kind of face that can deter fights by glaring in the general direction one might be starting.

I'm pretty blind to KKM too but reading his backstory I definitely agree with this! Luke could use kind of a lowkey stoic presence around and he could also be good at getting Gwendal out of his shell a little since Luke's kind of all over the place with things he does and where he spends his time. He'd really appreciate repeat customers and those are definitely the people he'd be most likely to befriend anyway. And hey, since he's no longer a bouncer he's gotta have somebody take over.

This sounds good to me for starting them off!

Would you be cool with Sei having been one of the counselors at the daycamp the summers when she was sixteen and seventeen? Their age difference would mean they wouldn't have been in high school at the same time so she wouldn't know him from fencing club, but they could have known each other that way!

They probably butted heads a lot though, she's kind of stubborn.

Absolutely! Since the daycamp's mostly made up of NPC kids right now anyway and Luke's still doing it every year that's definitely an easy way for them to know each other. He's used to stubborn girls thanks to both his best friend and his younger sister, it's fine, this is fine. Generally speaking even if they did butt heads Luke doesn't know when to quit so he would have kept up a weird kind of friendship anyway.

Considering Kashuu's the epitome of Social Butterfly, he's probably frequented Luke's bar when it's open to minors...! Maybe they could have noted each other in passing in high school since Kashuu's 3 years younger and was into kendo probably near the same time Luke was into fencing.

PEANUT!!! I was going to hit you actually because kendo and fencing kind of skirt similar lines and he could have easily at least noted Kashuu in passing for sure. Please come hang out at the bar and maybe yell at him for his shitty fashion sense, I think he'd also just like Kashuu in general since they're both chatty and kind of dumb boys?? I feel like they're both the type to know a lot of people so they could also know each other through mutualish friends

Also I just read your actual write-up for Kashuu and damnit Aki please be nice to him and also in exchange Kashuu has probably served Luke coffee once or twice lbr

Eyyyyy bartender! I've been toying with the idea that Isa will sometimes go out to a bar by himself to just chill and people-watch, and it could totally be Cabin 11 that happens at. He'd start out being a remarkably polite patron when it comes to manners and the like, but as he'd begin to relax, he'd get more mouthy/sarcastic.

Isa please come people-watch with him, he'd actually really like that. Luke gets really bored when he doesn't have customers he can really bug so he'd be fine at first letting Isa be chill and polite but he'd really appreciate someone who's just as sarcastic as he is. Also later they can be scar-regain buddies because I'm also getting rid of Luke's giant facial scar and maybe I was going to hit your comment before you hit me shhh

Luke's ownership of the bar just recently started a bit before game-start (AU-wise it used to belong to someone who then passed it to him), but he's been around for a few years so I can definitely see him noticing Isa around before anyway.

As far as CR goes, would you like to do something with these two? Elizabeth would be mainly an online student for her Bachelors at Recollé University, so maybe they were partners on a group project once or something?

If not, I do know Bigby is more of the guy who would frequent bars, so Elizabeth could know him as the owner and general "I know of him, but don't KNOW him".

HELLO JEM I meant to hit you last night and fell asleep and then you beat me to it. I'm laughing since Luke and Liz are like ten years apart but with her going to school later that could definitely easily coincide with the year that Luke was actually in school. Maybe like she was mostly online except for one class or something and then they worked together and Luke was like "why is a hot mom going to college"??? but then he befriended her anyway.

XANDER AND I TALKED and we kind of came up with that Jade and Luke met when Luke was a younger teenager too so I think it'd be kind of fun for him to meet Liz a few years later and put the pieces together like "o h", but also "please come pick up your husband from the bar ms. wolf..."

He'd find her love and appreciation of old-timey things really charming honestly and he wouldn't resist making the "you sound like my mom" jokes I'm so sorry

porque no los dos??? MOST OF LUKES FRIENDS BUTT HEADS WITH HIM but honestly I think their personalities would be so fun to play off of each other. We should definitely compare notes again though to see what kind of backstory we can spin for them or at least throw them at each other on the TDM to kind of get a feel for it.

i would love it if amuro would be able to get employed under luke as a bartender if possible! he's a bit older than him but will show politeness to anyone and is almost annoyingly easy going (even though he's secretly judgemental)

i have bishamon here as a new detective that has just been transferred from a different city, so i an see her "casing out" areas like luke's bar to see if any of the shadier folks or potential informants frequent it. she would ask luke all about that, actually! she is also someone that comes from money, so maybe there could be a shared elbow-rubbing past there, maybe not.

but she might also just frequent the bar after a long day, too! laksjda tries valiantly not to reveal what a sloppy drunk she is, oops

Hello! Shiro and Luke are close-ish in age... I'm thinking maybe they met at a community/charity group/event/whatever? Or maybe Luke was doing something that involved injured vets? Shiro's an amputee.
