Caelum Lunaire ; Original Character

CHARACTER: Caelum Dolorosa Lunaire; Canon / Ainsley Feray Menodora; AU
CANON: Original. It's a world where there's magical powerful enough that a secret society would later on inspire the creation of the Tarot Cards. She's the Moon Arcana and more information can be found on her life/abilities/history can be found here.

BLURB:

AU HISTORY
Born as Ainsley Feray Menodora - she simply likes to be called 'Ani, pronounced as Anne' by people. - she's from Recollé and has been there all her life. Fascinated with the stars at an early age, Ainsley has been staying up late into the night to admire the twinkling lights above her as she took note of which stars were out that night. They are a lifelong passion for her and she can't explain why; it just is like how the sky is blue and water is wet. People her age - she turned 39-years-old just last December! - would know her as the sweet girl who kept getting trouble for sneaking out late at night to stargaze. Was in the book club throughout her time in school.

She's currently a teacher at Recollé Elementary, perhaps known fondly by the parents and students as 'Nice Anne' due to her patience and her clear devotion to her students. Will always have a good word to stay about the kids during Parent-Teacher night since they mean the world to her. She also runs the astronomy club so they can meet with one another and stargaze together, mapping up the movement of the stars and holding little camping trips during these times to get to know people better.

AU PERSONALITY
Quiet and charming, Ainsley is a happy woman in her current state of being. She's the version of Caelum if she never became the Moon, someone who is fulfilled with her life and content with where she is. She's curious about the world and willing to learn if a subject strikes her fancy, learning all she can and more. Not that it's always a good thing. Her passion is all consuming to the point she can, and has, forgotten to look after herself to the point she has been admitted to the hospital for severe dehydration in the past.

But that doesn't mean she's neglectful to others. If anything, she goes out of her way to look after them. She loves her work as an elementary teacher, taking joy in helping children grow and encouraging their interests. While she focuses mostly on the arts, particularly storytelling and writing, she's always happy to see others express themselves and do what she can to support them. She can be smothering and too much at times but, at the end of the day, she only means well. Ainsley only wants to be happy and for others to be happy. Which may cause conflict since those two don't always align.

LOOKING FOR:

Friends! Ain has been in the city all her life and would have some friends by now. She would extremely loyal to them since they were there for her during her awkward teenage years™ and then some. After you've been braces and homecoming you've been the fires of hell themselves.

Coworkers! Hello fellow teachers at Recollé University and especially Elementary. Let's know each other because Ain would be the type to bring presents and souvenirs for her buddies during the holidays or when she returned to vacation. Even if they were silly 'I want to X and got this silly shirt' type because that's her sense of humour in this AU.

Former and/or students!!! She's been teaching for +15 years since she started at the age of 24 and loves her job. Enjoys helping children learn and encourages their interests in arts if they have an interest in it. She'll keep in contact with her former students if they'll allow her and Ain willingly offers her help to the kids if they need a hand in homework/projects/what-have-you.

Yes please!! Caelum does not believe in the idea of a troubled student, merely someone who learns differently and there's nothing to be ashamed about that. She would have done her best to help him in classes with studies and supported him wholeheartedly in his activities/hobbies too. Let her… be supportive to your happiness and dreams much as possible Dirk…

I'd love for Yukiko to have been a former student of Ani's. Also really any excuse for Melly CR is good. (hi is ax)

Yukiko's a high school student now, and would've spent her elementary years struggling a little with being an immigrant from Japan. So a patient teacher would be a godsend for her.

Like I said in that huge wall of text I've sent you, I'm really down with the idea of her being the former teacher of Yukiko!! She would have tried her best to help her with classes and talked to her after lessons to see how she was doing and even kept in contact with her after she went to the higher grades. Complete with giving books/books recommendations when she learns about her growing interests. She just wants Yukiko to be happy in doing what she loves the most okay.

If she needs a friend close to her age, Ardyn has been in the city for his entire life as well. His personality is a bit snarky and even patronizingly joking sometimes, so that just depends on how well you think it'd go based on that.

Barring that, however, Ardyn is also a law professor at Recolle University, SO even if they wouldn't be friends, they'd know each other work association at the very least?

NOT GONNA LIE- One of my very first regains will be the memory of being called Caelum and thinking how neat it sounds.

Personality-wise, I think the two would be really good friends because of it. Someone sharper and jokier than her would make her come out of her shell in her youth and probably wouldn't be afraid to go, 'When was the last time you drank anything but apple juice' when meeting up to see how they're doing. So she would pretend to be exasperated by his comments/jokes but clearly enjoy them and try not to laugh at polite company. (And failing miserably.)

So friends and work associates is alright with me! Since they're close to age, would it be safe to assume they meet during highschool or even college at some point?

Haha, if that's the case, and maybe she shares this tidbit with Ardyn one day, that might actually trigger a regain for him? :V The surname of "Lucis Caelum" is kind of important in his canon, and to him.

And this sounds great! I would be down for them knowing each other since high school, let's say? He needs a long-time friend here. c: And he definitely has a lot of wit/vaguely snide remarks to go around!

I may keep an eye out on the TDM for you, just to see how these two bounce off of each other if that's cool with you?

Hello fellow teacher of students! I would love for the two to know each other when they were much younger. There's only a four year age gap between them so-!

Maybe she went out of her way to be friends with him when others kept their distance? And stuck by his side like glue if someone tried to ostracise him because she's not there for that at all. Could have been a closeish friend in high school but only after the deaths of his two best friends did she make more of an effort to bond with him and help him through that period of time. Just a few ideas, of course!! If you have any other ideas I would love to hear them because yes to more people of her age bracket/profession please.

I can work with that. He generally tended to run with the Marauders but that didn't preclude him from having other friends and people he got along with! Even with the age gap.

clutches chest, so Anya absolutely love love loves the stars too and so I think it would be really sweet if Ain might've helped foster that when she was young maybe as one of her students - since she's 15 now? and if they maintained a relationship ever since and if Anya still came back to ask her questions about it

I WOULD LOVE FOR THAT!! Anya seems so sweet from what you've written up about her so I just know Ain would love her. Plus it'll be a joy for her to have more people to speak with about stars and celestial bodies so yes they definitely need to be student/teacher in the past who kept in touch after Anya left her classroom. Join the astronomy cluuuub. She bakes s'mores for the others after they finish stargazing and mapping the movements of the stars.

The TDM is in a few hours so I'll definitely be on the lookout for you.

Hello! If you'd like another former student for Caelum, I'd love to throw up Setz/Sekreuz — he would've been a bright and friendly kid who liked reading and would've adored Caelum, but notably got pulled out of elementary school due to family problems (and has since then become rather gloomy), if Caelum would be concerned about what became of him after he suddenly left!

I'm always open to having former students for Caelum since she's been around for a long time in terms of teaching years so yes! He's more than welcomed to be a former student of hers and she would have been very concerned about him when he was pulled out of her classes and would have done her best to check up on him after.

And I think she would have tried to see how he was doing to this day too since she'll be the type to notice the shift in his personality and be concerned. I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for you in the TDM in a bit since I would love for them to meet and see how they interact after all this time! She would have tried to been supportive to him as possible given what he was going through then.

one more to the batch of former students! miwa's 19 now and struggling with figuring out what to do with his life, so maybe he talks to ain once in a while for advice? he probably left the impression of a quiet child with consistent performance but no visible passion for anything.

I'm sorry I'm super late in replying to you but yes! I would love to have him as a former student of hers. She would have done her best to help him out and figure out what he wanted to do, but also tried to let him know that he shouldn't feel bad for being unsure of where to go next or what to do now. Everyone has their starts and ambitions at different stages in life after all!

And since Anya is also a former student of hers! So depending on some possibilities, she might have seen Miwa while he was growing up because she tried to keep in touch with Anya which I think could include possible visits at her place to see if she's doing well and she'll also check on Miwa while she was there too if he's alright with that.

and that's cool with him! in fact, he probably appreciated every encounter of the nature a lot, and for his part tries to help out if ainsley ever needs anything. she deserves all the good things.

Celia's that one kid that liked to wander off, as pointed out on her own workshop toplevel here.

Given what's been put in here and in your response to Lia's toplevel, Ain is easily the sort that she would want to stay in contact with, definitely asking for advice now and then even if it's not always school-related, but probably also for general friendship-type stuff if Ain is okay with making friends out of students she's had before.

Hello yes she'll love her former students. And I'm still replying to your workshop comment I swear... It's just a lot of ideas and angles which I'm trying to edit into something more coherent. I'm very excited at the idea of them so there's a lot I'd like to do with them!

Ainsley will always be there for her students and especially those who ask for her help in things. Be it school or not, and will give it her all 100%! If Celia had anything she wanted to ask, whether it's just a question or a request for something, Ainsley can be a go to source for that. She'll recommend a look of books on travel and adventures to Celia and tag her on Instagram on photos she takes she'll think Celia will like for sure.

He'd only be a co-worker twice a month since he comes to teach art at the elementary school twice a month - though he's popular with the kids and he likes it - and also once a week at the university. Since she seems friendly and loves the kids I think she might get along with Koutarou.

She would get along with him swimmingly! She's very passionate about the arts and while she's more of writing and storytelling, she's also interested in paintings and the like so I think she'll hit it off great with him. Try to ask about his subject, his favourite works of art, etc.

The fact he's also popular with the kids helps a lot because Ainsley trusts the kids' judgement in others. She'll definitely make more of an effort to get along with Koutarou better.

Kids seem to be good judges of character sometimes(?). Glad it helps his case and he’ll look forward to getting to know her better.
