Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here.

• Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM.
• For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC!

AU AGE: Early 20s
AU OCCUPATION: TBD but certainly a part time student on top of that
BLURB:

*Born in Germany to a German mother and American father
*Father was a naval commander but left the military to work for a private military contractor (American based but allowing him opportunities to continue to travel, think Constellis), mother was extremely beautiful and refined and fell in love the the persona her father presented: charming, sophisticated, powerful
*Father also had a violent and irrational streak, was extremely paranoid and possessive of Alice's mother and, as she got older, Alice herself
*As soon as she was old enough to intervene between her parents, she did, wanting nothing more than to protect her mom
(*Possibly relocated in her youth from Germany to Japan, father was assigned to oversee planning for Japanese antipiracy initiatives with private companies)
*Being surrounded by paramilitary types, she was never in want of someone to teach her how to defend herself. Some of them knew why, some just thought it was cute that this quiet, stone faced little girl wanted to fight like a boy. Either way, she learned from experts
*Developed a resistant streak during this time, distancing herself from classmates because she didn't want them to know what her home life was like and trying to be more like a soldier
*Also developed an extreme disdain for smooth talkers and anyone who even smelled like they could manipulate you using the right words. Alice wanted to be a woman of action, not sophistry. She admired the men and women who worked for her father far more than she ever admired the man himself
*Once the contract (in Japan or elsewhere??) ended, Alice's mother decided she'd had enough of a husband who was rarely home and was violent when he was, so she served him with divorce papers and left to return to Germany. She begged Alice to come with her, but Alice said no. Someone had to stay with him
*This was what Alice wanted: if her father went alone, he'd inevitably find another target, but if she went with him she could keep him in line or at least keep him from marrying again through sheer force of personality
*Alice has not seen her mother in person since then and misses her desperately
*Stayed with her father until she finished high school, continuing her martial arts training and finally getting her father to stop hitting her when she nearly broke his jaw
*Still moved out as soon as she finished high school, coming to Recolle with nothing but what she could fit in her car and enough money from him to set herself up in a studio apartment
*Has family here, cousins on her mom's side with usurpers and godshand
*With a dog, meet Greta, she is absolutely inappropriate for an apartment but too bad for everyone who is not Alice
*Never was an academic type, took a year or even two maybe to get on her feet, but continues to accept money from her father passively since it's really the least he can do
*Is currently working (still putting out feelers for where) while going to school part time to work toward a degree she can use as a police officer. She is an abysmal student, so this may take a very, very long time.
*Personality-wise, Alice is less idealistic and more bitter, perhaps closer to how she is a bit later in canon, and she's still pretty formal but less formal than in canon. Her focus is less on saving the world and more on interpersonal justice. She's got the same short temper, black or white way of seeing the world, and soft spot for those she sees as naive or vulnerable, though, especially if they're younger than her.

LOOKING FOR: ANYTHING really! Past, pre-Recolle cr, co-workers maybe depending on where she ends up working, she already has one past relationship with

judgementkazzy but I'd be open to another or even a current relationship ohoho, but friends, classsmates, someone to make her swallow her pride and get the academic help she needs, someone to teach her to shoot since that's the one thing she never had an interest in learning before but could be persuaded now... I'm open to pretty much anything!

Hiya! I'm looking for ladies of varying relationships in Jamie's CR, so I was thinking: Could Alice be a friend of his or blind-dated him before?

Harry's canon family life with the Dursleys isn't among the prettiest of the bunch, so I thought about it when reading Alice's story, "Man, this girl needs some love, and has a crappy father... And I got a guy who had some of the worst relatives to live with in canon. Somebody better hug her!"

I'd be fine for either option or even a blind date to friendship kind of thing. Your AU for Harry is really interesting! Alice would definitely be the kind of person to tell him to just... stop talking for two minutes, please, but if she gets the sense that he's trustworthy then it'll be easier to let him go on as long as he doesn't try to manipulate her at all (which I can't really imagine happening?). I'd love to do some tdm stuff with them to get a better feel for it but yeah, this sounds workable for sure!

Oh wow, Jamie's quite gullible to the bone. Hahaha, I'm fine with a blind date to friendship route between the two of them if you wish.

I feel like Suga would definitely work with her about her grades. He would also be that type to sit with her, eat lunch with her, and try to get to know her on her terms. He wouldn't push for her to reveal her home life or her past, but he would like to know what she likes to do so they can have some fun! He's not gonna mom her as much as he's going to look out for her. Maybe make sure her fuse doesn't go off and that she doesn't end up in a fight or anything.

Yeah, she'll be a little socially isolated with not being in the dorms but she's not averse to company! She's not averse to talking about her past but it's not the kind of thing that comes up easily. As long as it didn't seem like Suga was trying to trick her into talking about it or anything, she'd be fine. I think she could use a kind, calming influence like his, definitely not in a mom way but more... almost like he looks after Tanaka. (She'd... love Tanaka. I'd ship her with a Tanaka lmao.) that being said, i would love if they kept some contact in the past through internet/whatsapp/skype or whatever. she’s the type i’d feel he’d like to keep in touch with, probably had family renunions in germany as a kid so we can say they met and have kept tabs since then!! the minute eren knew she was coming he’d . . . probably help her out a ton, wherever she needed.

AHHH wow! Yes, I would say she definitely kept in touch with him since she's always been closer to her mom so someone on her mom's side would definitely be of interest to her. She'd be thrilled to have someone to help her out too, honestly, even if it's just helping her figure out which neighborhood would be good to live in and stuff like that. Alice will gladly teach you what she knows, Eren!

i’m actually really loving this because eren gets along a lot more with his mom’s side than his dad’s side too, so this. completely matches.

but man, excellent. he’s also in a bit of a confused spot with retrospec as he learns about them and while he doesn’t think they’re really going about a lot of things in a good way (IT COULD BE A LOT BETTER) he.................. wants to understand more about their project so he doesn’t particularly hate them enough to want to drive them into a wall. surprisingly.

Moms are great! It works out really well.

Yeaaah, Alice is much more of a 'punch first, ask questions later,' kind of person but Eren can probably convince her to not immediately be wildly distrustful of retrospec. I already... have her first network post planned, lmao, and she's already mad (LET HER CALL HER MOM YOU JERKS?) but she trusts Eren so yeah, he'd be pretty influential.

DONT WORRY ALICE..... EREN WAS THE SAME WAY.............. he flipped out on day one and got chewed out like ten times

Aaaaah this is going to be so great, it really is a family thing. I had a feeling something like this would develop between them, I don't know all of AoT but I do know enough to know Eren is not always the most thoughtful character and I think they're going to be really, really fun to play together
