Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here.

• Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM.
• For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC!

BLURB:

• As is the case with him in-canon, he grew up a machines-and-tinkering prodigy (if underachiever in a practical sense) in a wholesome family of four in Louisiana bayou country!
• Unlike in canon, the “killing another kid at the age of six-ish” incident also never wound up happening, affording him enough benefit of the doubt and room to breathe that he’s been able to live a “normal” enough life to have headed off to college when his folks could raise the money for it.
• Eveline’s infection also never happened! Therefore his appearance is more along the lines of in Daughters than in the main game.
• This also means, however, that the same goes for his demeanor! Having never been in an environment in which he and his morbid wild-child personality could be... off the leash let alone with room to drive himself way over the top leaves him stuck in a bit of a surly-and-feisty-by-default, overgrown-moody-teenager mode and constantly chafing under direction, outside rules, and the daily grind.
• He’s been at Recollé’s university for a couple of years - he’s an engineering student, but as a student, he is, again, kind of an underachiever, with a mentality of either ughhh, I know this already or ughhh, I could have figured this out myself, spending most of his in-class time kind of... checked out or scribbling down either comments to himself or brainstorming for personal projects, whether he’s going to actually maintain the attention span to commit to them or not.
• He makes money off of freelance coding and computer repairs/troubleshooting. It doesn’t exactly bring in a living wage...
• ...And so it’s lucky for him that his friend, housemate, and kinda-crush Ibuki Mioda (

fretless) barely charges him rent! They came into contact while he was looking for a cheap, ideally few-to-no-commitments place to stay on moving up to Recollé and came upon an online classifieds posting.
• Speaking of Ibuki, the two are in a garage band together - he’s the keyboardist.
• On that note, he’s into music - mostly rock/metal - on enough of a level that he’ll, say, drop in on a concert or concert-type event when he’s got the cash.
• Another thing he is into (and also likes best the harder the better) is horror - of the visceral variety, be it played-straight or campy, so long as it pulls no punches; give him a good bit of splatterpunk.
• His main hobby, however, remains machines! If he has the resources, equipment, and time to sink in getting something built and working, from a remote device to a computer to an animatronic, he will do it because he can - and if he can show that off competitively, he will, for both any prize that may be involved and for the ego boost, but mostly? It’s just stimulating! (And handy - it’s nice having the peace of mind or... more accurately satisfaction of control that comes with remotely-unlocking supply drawers.)
• He spends a load of time on the internet - he’s the Reddit type and pokes around on interests-boards and for dark and/or immature laughs, and is the shitposty-and-or-arguing type.
• He was kind of a delinquent growing up, and still is - he’s the kind of person who’ll chuck bottles or eggs at the walls of people or places he doesn’t like, light trash on fire, set off illegal fireworks, etc. when he’s bored or in a mood.

LOOKING FOR: Genuinely anything! “Enemies”, perceived rivals, or simple cases of clashing? Other hedonistic- or mischievous-at-heart types with or without shared interests who he might be on more positive basis with? “Hey, this guy fixed my laptop once”? Bring it!

THIS IS MOSTLY UNRELATED but a i feel a need share this story since it's Lucas relevant

so my friend was doing a blind playthrough of re7 on his twitch channel and was having the worst time with Lucas' segment of the game (namely, he had just finish playing evil within and was in Zero Mood for tripwire bombs) and someone donated a *weird* amount of bits just as he finished beating the fat molded, and he nearly quit when he realized it was the code for the door to the birthday puzzle.

it was just so funny because Nub legitimately *loathed* playing Evil Within, and you could just hear the deep, soul crushing drop in his voice when he got to Lucas' segment.

anyways, here i am being a bad friend and not actually linking his channel. if you want to put on some background noise, his RE7 playthrough is still on the VoDs, as is the Evil Within playthrough if you ever wanna hear a guy exhaustively not enjoy a game he's playing, lmao

Ahh - I do thank you for the link! I enjoy using LPs as background noise, indeed, and I'll check 'im out!

I just suggested this in a comment above this but I thought it might be fun to have Alice be their long suffering neighbor. She's kind of a tough nut to crack but as long as he avoids setting off the fireworks when she's got her dog home it's probably essentially peaceful. Upset Greta and it's all over.

Oh, dear, the idea of anyone being their long-suffering neighbor is bitterly hilarious - and on that note, I wonder if he's already once had to learn that the hard way.

Ahaha, it's entirely possible. Despite wanting to be one, Alice isn't the kind of person who would call the cops, so it definitely would have been settled person to person...

Ha, Lucas is a brat, and so he probably would have argued but when he realized he couldn't make a valid excuse for himself, said "ALL RIGHT, ALL RIGHT, IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN", and then... continue to do noisy/risky things it anyway as long as he thought it was in a context in which she specifically would be less likely to be there/otherwise notice; all in all, then, it seems likely that they will indeed be at least familiar each other but... not be on nearly as positive a basis as her and the other occupant of the house!

I love it, this cr is already shaping up to be terrific and I can't wait to see how it plays out. It certainly won't be as positive as her cr with Ibuki, yeah, but that's no less interesting.

No less, indeed (ha, playing a character like Lucas sets up not-positive CR more than positive), and ahh, agreed on both counts - I look forward to it, as well!
