AU WORKSHOP - OCTOBER
Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here.

• As per our game-wide poll, we will be holding an application round in October and in November! After that, apps will resume their bi-monthly schedule. The game calendar has now been updated with the dates for this.
• Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM.
• For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC!

BLURB: Here you should write what you have for your AU; you can list your character's hobbies, who their friends and family are, if they have any particular quirks or interesting pieces of their history, if they're from a wealthy family or if they're struggling to get by, anything you feel is relevant.
LOOKING FOR: Are you looking for family members or friends or enemies for your character to be pre-planned? Or are you asking for ideas or feedback on your AU idea? Anything goes, just specify what you would like.

basically the only thing established during the last one's stay was: Kasen and Izumi are brothers, they aren't particularly close (whether just through age gap or interest gap), and awkward attempts were made to reconnect now that they live in the same city again.

Kasen's been in Recolle since he graduated college and is an established artist and art trader. He's comfortably wealthy (has a building named after him at the university) and basically fafs about like the weirdo he is most of the time. You can see here the status of canon memories he's gotten so far, and Kashuu and Taroutachi recently helped him recall the name of the History Retrograde forces AND I will probably have him regain memories of the Citdael itself here pretty soon. SO all that basically means he's pretty far along to his canon self, too.

I think we may be able to work with that! I was thinking Izumi being the youngest brother in this family which is why his parents don't really give much of a care what kind of major he goes for? I was planning keeping his family status preeetty ambiguous so it's easy to work with tbh. If not, we can always do cousins, but I can leave it up to you!

And woah, he really is down the line, he also got his sword back? I'm proud of him... More importantly: Kasen pls share your money

lmao yeah you've already done more about their family than either me or the old kanesan player did, so feel free to keep filling in the blanks there! i think the only thing i actually will need to retcon is whether or not kasen's family came with him to the US when he got accepted to university. it's not even a big deal to change since i pretty much did nothing with that.

IZUMI IS WELCOME TO BORROW MONEY but what if kasen made him write a poem every time he had to ask for some...

If you're happy with retconning any of that with kasen's fam, then we can totally have them be brothers again if you're down for it!? so just tell me if that's what you're feelin'!

ALSO GOD... I actually wanted Izumi to have a slight interest in poetry, but be REALLY. REALLY BAD AT IT ~~just like his old man, hijikata~~ ... I can just imagine him whining to Kasen for money and he's like well write me a poem then izumi, very proudly, slams down a poem and kasen reads it. stares at him. izumi, this is so bad, this is such a bad poem what are you even doing with your life

tbh that's my ideal relationship as it is. BUT KASEN actually does feel really terrible about being so distant from izumi, especially since he's started questioning his humanity lately.

but he's also going to be cagey about that should izumi ever even think to bring it up. but he'll still encourage him to write poetry!

NICE! then that's that! but oh no kasen... I don't know if izumi can help him with the whole questioning his humanity but they can have their opportunity again to try(!?) to not be as distant as they were before!

teach him the ways of poetry kasen... maybe they can sort of bond over it! >:)

especially since we're never going to see them interact in canon at this rate seriously they must be the only sibling pair with zero interactions it upsets me because, like, HOW DO THEY GET ALONG? I NEED TO KNOW

but obviously touken ranbu is a cruel mistress that wants to keep us questioning things until the end of our lives... (i've always been really curious too but shakes TKRB where are you hiding the secrets)!!!

and i was like "surely hanamaru will grant my wish" but we get *nothing*. kasen didn't even get to be in katsugeki.

here's hoping they will correct this grievous oversight soon. i'm not asking for much here, just, like. one scene.
