AU WORKSHOP - OCTOBER Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World changes FAQ • As per our game-wide poll, we will be holding an application round in October and in November! After that, apps will resume their bi-monthly schedule. The game calendar has now been updated with the dates for this. • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC! FORM PLAYER'S NAME: CHARACTER'S NAME: CANON: AU NAME: If there's a name change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU AGE: Again, if there's an age change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU OCCUPATION: Feel free to list if your character is a student (elementary/middle/high school/college), if they own their own business, if they freelance, if they have a stable job, etc. BLURB: Here you should write what you have for your AU; you can list your character's hobbies, who their friends and family are, if they have any particular quirks or interesting pieces of their history, if they're from a wealthy family or if they're struggling to get by, anything you feel is relevant. LOOKING FOR: Are you looking for family members or friends or enemies for your character to be pre-planned? Or are you asking for ideas or feedback on your AU idea? especially because after the first time he visits her job (completely by accident, since he didn't realize she worked there), he's going to be awkwardly hanging around outside, trying to find a good reason to say hi and being obvious af over it (and also probably going over his school notes/books, so that would be a good jumping on point for science things too!)

also the conversations about magic are probably going to be GREAT once he finally regains his powers hahah

Yeah, if Derek sees him outside Sakura's work, he's just going to tell Sakura that there is boy outside looking at her and is going to ask her if he is one of her friends. Or, he will just ask Li if he is going in.

Derek is slightly protective of Sakura because he feels she has no sense of safety at it alarmed him the first time he met her.

Eventually he will be, "Li, that girl is completely clueless, you need to keep an eye on her."

Right now Derek doesn't believe that magic is real. Hopefully that will change soon. But right now he is in hard denial that magic exists. He has his baby magic back, but hasn't fully realized this yet.

I can just imagine Derek telling her about him outside and she looks right at him and he just BOLTS away because OH MY GOD SHE THINKS I'M A HUGE WEIRDO NOW spoilers-- you are kind of a weirdo, Xiaolang

and LMAO THAT'S GONNA TRIGGER A REGAIN WHEN HE TELLS HIM THAT, and Xiaolang is just going to shake his head and be like 'yeah.......this seems like this was always a THING.........'

But JOIN THE ANTI-MAGIC CLUB, with how deeply entrenched in the sciences his family is, Xiaolang is going to be in pretty hard denial of it too (even after seeing Sakura's staff and cards), so he and Derek can complain a lot about people thinking there's supernatural connections to perfectly rational things and then eating their words when they make weird stuff happen themselves

Derek will be totally down for talking to Li about science had how magic isn't possible (until I give him his wand and Hogwarts letter, then he can't deny it, LOL). If Li is an interesting person to talk to (or really fun to tease) Derek will pay then attention.
