AU WORKSHOP - OCTOBER Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World changes FAQ • As per our game-wide poll, we will be holding an application round in October and in November! After that, apps will resume their bi-monthly schedule. The game calendar has now been updated with the dates for this. • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC! FORM PLAYER'S NAME: CHARACTER'S NAME: CANON: AU NAME: If there's a name change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU AGE: Again, if there's an age change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU OCCUPATION: Feel free to list if your character is a student (elementary/middle/high school/college), if they own their own business, if they freelance, if they have a stable job, etc. BLURB: Here you should write what you have for your AU; you can list your character's hobbies, who their friends and family are, if they have any particular quirks or interesting pieces of their history, if they're from a wealthy family or if they're struggling to get by, anything you feel is relevant. LOOKING FOR: Are you looking for family members or friends or enemies for your character to be pre-planned? Or are you asking for ideas or feedback on your AU idea? CHARACTER: Rowen (Touma) Hashiba
CANON: Yoroiden Samurai Troopers (JP) / Ronin Warriors (US)
AU NAME: Rowen Hashiba
AU AGE: 15-16
AU OCCUPATION: Student, working part time in a research lab and haunting a coffee shop so much he basically works there too
BLURB:
+ Rowen is a genius whiz and has skipped ahead several grades, which places him squarely in college level courses while he's in High School
+ He's really great with mechanical/technical aspects, but he enjoys fiction and comics like any normal teen boy
+ His courses are being paid for through a combination Scholarship and grant
+ The grant is from the research lab he works in, which studies the mind during sleep and REM
+ Because he's a brainy nerd he got shoved into lockers a bunch
+ And still does, probably
+ Teachers either Love him or Hate him. He's the nightmare student.
+ Truth be told he just wants some friends who won't see his insane intelligence and be intimidated
LOOKING FOR:
+ Friends, please for the love of god this kid is lonely
+ Relatives– his dad was pretty absent through childhood and his mom divorced and works a high stress reporting job so he never sees her.
+ Relationships– guys, gals, it really doesn't matter. He's a loving kid.
+ Rivals– who doesn't get geared up with a challenge?

Balthier is Franklin in game, and he's an investigative journalist. He did do a study abroad to Recolle, where he. Slept with half the RPD or something, IDEK.
but!!! IT IS ENTIRELY POSSIBLE he would have done some sort of mentorship program while he was there?

But sounds like he's in college courses so it kind of depends. Yukine also tends to hang out in coffee shops occasionally. He's an aspiring photographer if that's anything Rowen would be into.

So here's an idea. They met when Rowen was getting harassed by college classmates off campus and Yukine got involved to whatever degree of success & from there they went to go lick their wounds nearby at like a cafe and spent a while shittalking and chatting? Continued to stay friends even if sometimes they're like mostly taking through text? And yukine drags him to help with shoots or model or just spend time doing dumb stuff?

This sounds totally plausible! Rowen's attached to his phone even if he forgets to answer text messages and falls asleep halfway through calls. He'll gladly help with shoots tho he'll likely be camera shy
